Gutted

Not sure whether people have seen this before but I thought it was very informative and as much detail as I have found so far on questions I currently have on my mind about Xiaflex / Xiapex, which are :

1. Which are specifically the best candidates / Peyronies Disease symptoms for treatment with Xiaflex ? The answer I initially found of -  any curvature >30degs seemed very weak and generic to me. This link shows there is more to it as I suspected.

2. What if you have 'hourglass' ?

3. Should injections definitely be ultrasound guided ? At my first Uro appt when I asked just about Ultrasound diagnosis, they were quite dismissive about its necessity. When I asked about Utrasound in the context of guiding Xiaflex injections, they were quite surprised and said "Oh, no need, you can feel where the plaque is" ..... I don't really like the sound of that ! To me, this paper indicates success is very much a significant function of the the accuracy of the injection and that some side effects could be related to lack of accuracy.

I've just started researching this and could mostly only find people's post treatment experiences, so apologies if you all know this.

(interesting point on saline controls in trials. Where the volume of liquid introduced perhaps stretches the plaque thereby getting results from an 'inert' injection)

To get "good" results of around 37%, calcified plaques were excluded from the trials.
