Good evening Gentlemen!

To start- I'm happy to have found this group! Just diagnosed last week, after trying to deny the condition existed, for about 4 months. Once I saw the URO I was relieved it wasn't a Prostate issue, and yet saddened by the fact that its possibly here to stay.

My URO was far to "casual" with my diagnosis, after reading through this forum. Basically said, No cure, a few different options that don't really work and don't worry about it........ Ok, not quite that bad, but not far from it. No offer of Rx Script and other than a very brief physical exam, that was it. Needless to say, I'm actively seeking another Doc to get some solid help and direction.

At 49, I am grateful this is the most major medical issue I'm facing.... but still difficult to wrap my head around.

Facts:
5-6 months ago started feeling pain in the Head during a strong erection.
Noticed slight plaque nodules, (not knowing what they were or if related.)
No noticeable Bend.
Some info found on the web that led me to believe I had a prostate issue- possibly an infection. Tried the homeopathic suggested treatment of injecting Silver down the urethra with a syringe. Needless to say- it didn't help!
Pain during intercourse was/is fairly intense, but not enough to make sex and ejaculation a problem.

Finally told my wife (newly married... didn't want to scare her.... but had to let her know. She was great and went on the Doc visit with me.)

Saw the URO last week and got the news.
Took that info home and we did a more thorough exam and found a very slight bend, just below the head, to the left by maybe 5 degrees.

At this point, my immediate concerns are Pain management and stop the progression.

I am fit and will be upping the inflammation managed diet. Also take Zyflamend regularly for (natural) inflammation reduction. Will get the other recommended Sups.
Need to find a solid Doc in the Denver/Boulder area. (Any suggestions)

Wondering if there is anyway to manipulate and break up the "scar tissue" like is the case with other situations of scar tissue in the body.

Thank you to all of the Admin and contributors here in this group! Obviously the intelligence runs high and I appreciate the practical approach to this condition. I'll sure be happy to help/contribute as I get aggressive with finding any and all ways to reduce/reverse this condition.

Optimistically,
R.

RSFS,

Well, finding this forum is a step in the right direction.  Welcome.  Yes, by all means seek out a good uro.  Even if it involves travel, it's worth it.

The plaque that you are seeing/feeling is not like arterial plaque and it doesn't mean that you have plaque buildup anywhere else.

What it does mean is that you are probably still in the acute phase of Peyronies and there are some things you can do to stop the progression.

As you read through the forum pay particular attention to VED therapy by the "Old Man".  He is the forum expert on this type of therapy and can truly guide you in proper technique.

Stay optimistic, find a good uro and settle for nothing less than ultrasound so that you know for sure what is happening.

And be sure to keep us posted on your diagnosis and treatment.

It's important that you start treating this now. So you have done the right thing in looking for and finding this forum.

Drs like the one you have seen are, unfortunately, all too common. Find a competent Peyronies aware Urologist. There is a list on the site, or hopefully a member from your area can recommend one.

Front line treatment for the acute phase includes Pentox, low dose Cialis, Ubiquinol, ALC, etc. you can read about all of these on the site. My apologies if that all sounds a bit vague, but one of the enigmas of  this disease is that what works for one guy does not for another.

I would also look into traction and/or VED to combat any curvature.

Thank you for the response! I will definitely look into the suggestions here and keep you updated!

Blessings to you both and to all on here for that matter!
