Hey all,

As I told in the introduction part of the forum; my penis has never been straight. Therefore, I will undergo a surgery next week in Vienna with Dr. Franklin Kuehhas. My curvature is around 30-35 degrees downward and around 20 degrees to the left. Sexual intercourse possible, but it is difficult and it leads to psychological problems.

In the Netherlands, they adviced me to undergo a Nesbit surgery and that it would only be a small surgery, but I would have some penile length loss. After gathering some information about the surgery I did not think the surgery is 'small' and thus cancelled it. I decided to look for a doctor elsewhere and I found Dr. Franklin (thanks to this forum). Next week, I will be checked and will undergo surgery the next day.

I will keep you informed!

For the people that did the surgery
-Did you guys instantly know whether the surgery succeeded? As I understand you will get some medicine that prevents you from getting erections, so is it correct you ll only get to see the outcome a few weeks after the surgery?
-I also hired a lawyer for my insurance coverage. I send a letter requesting permission long ago but my insurance did not get back to me. It is obligatory to ask permission on forehand according to my insurance conditions. I think I have a good case, but I am not 100 percent sure. Did you guys manage to get anything back?

I had STAGE surgery with Dr Kuehhas this week. He is a great doctor. He also showed me pictures afterwards. I will not get to see it for a few weeks because it is bandaged up.
Good luck, glad to see you did not get the nesbitt surgery.

K.Bouter

Hey everybody,

A quick update: I had a pre operative checkup yesterday and a surgery today. Dr. Franklin told me the surgery went well and I m completely straight now.

I must really say that everyone took great care off me. It was my first time under general anesthesia and i was slightly nervous. But all in all, it wasn't so bad. On the contrary; I think I had a nice day; I slept very well, when i woke up I felt really good, the friends I brought were good to me and i had a nice roommate that just had the same surgery I could talk with. And I myst say, Dr. Kuehhas has been really helpful till now. I hope the result is good too. I ll see it myself soon.

Back in the hotel now. No pain at all but I think I did not loose sensitivity; my glans is still sensative. I can also feel the other part of my penis but its heavily covered with bandages. So far so good. Thank you all for making me aware there exists something like the STAGE technique!

A few tips to help your recovery:

If you have not been circumcised before then use a light dressing to cover the head of your penis. This will prevent it rubbing and getting sore. Just make sure it is not too tight.
Wear tracksuit bottoms with no underwear.
Keep the penis as straight as you can during healing.

Best of luck,

K.Bouter

Thanks for the tips!
The doctor told me to wear tight underwear in the start as loose ones could hurt a bit. From tomorrow on I ll follow ur advice and wear no underwear, i ll also discuss it with Dr. kuehhas!  i i I I have been carrying my penis to the left (but straight to the left) for the last 2 hours. Do you think I should wear it up or down? Or maybe no underwear when I am sleeping?

fefgeug

Keep it down and as straight as possible. I wore tight underwear for the first 4 days hoping to prevent rubbing on the glans. My glans still got sore. A loose dressing around the glans is helping it to heal, I just remove it and change it every time I urinate.
The tight underwear made the bandage start to develop a downward curve. You need to avoid this to enable the penis to heal straight.
Dr Kuehhas texts me every day for an update. I explained all this to him, he said he appreciates the feedback and welcomes any suggestions to help his other patients.

K.Bouter

Thanks! That makes sense. I ll wear it down. I hope the medicine does its job in not giving erections at night (i get hard easily when not wearing underwear) but it should hold. Thanks for the tips, it helps a lot!

For me, one of the best things about Franklin Kuehhas is that he LISTENS!  He doesn't just play the doctor - patient relationship you get with so many doctors. He genuinely wants to hear your feedback, suggestions, etc.

fefgeug

Exactly johnb,

He asked me to let him know what works for me so that he can advise his other patients.

Top class doctor!

K.Bouter

Dr. Kuehhas was very happy with the result and also with my recovery during the three meetings after my surgery. Now, I am back in The Netherlands. Although I have been taking my medicine as I should, I woke up this night two times with an erection (shortly after each other), one was only very soft and I was able to quickly shake it off by walking a bit. The other one was a bit too hard for my liking. It is difficult to judge the hardness of the erection with so much bandage around the penis, but it was huring a bit at the base of my penis (I think because the erection is not hard enough to carry the weight of the bandage). I hope this will not influence my result too much and that these erections will not continue to happen.

I completely agree with fefgeug and Jobinspain, excellent doctor. Genuiely interested and if something worries you he seriously replies (in my home country they often say: don't worry without inspecting the problem). I whatsapped him with my problem of the nightly erections and some videos and I am sure he will reply very fast with some feedback.

From your post Bouter I assume Dr. Kuehass  has done a good job and didn't harm the nerves.
Wish you fast recovery

As James has indicated, if you are getting erections and you have sensation in the head, then the all important neuro-vascular bundle appears to be unaffected.

K.Bouter

Great!

Btw, i saw a pic of my penis during surgery. I m already in love with that penis. Even though the pic was bloody, it was so straight. If my penis can heal to be this way I d be so happy. It feels so unreal after havibg a bend penis for my whole life.

A small update:
Still not much pain, only a slight pain when having nightly semi erection. But this is very bearable.  Sometimes it slightly itches. I had the most pain when Dr. kuehhas changed the bandage for the first time. The exposed glans can be very sensitive sometimes and without feeling at other times. This is exactly the same as before the surgery as my foreskin used to be very big. But I feel its changing into slightly sensitive all the time, which I guess is a good thing. Furthermore the glans looks nice and pink and not blue or red anymore. So overall I am very happy.

I need to keep the bandage on for 7 more days and It started to get slightly dirty and dry already. Hope this won't cause infections or something.

Bouter

In my opinion you should see a doctor and change the bandage not to get and infection.
Don't forget that any open wound is prone to that.
You may call/email Dr. Kuehass also in the subject.

Yesterday, I sent Dr. Kuehhas a picture of the bandage and asked if I should look for a doctor to change it. He said it looks fine and I shouldn't touch it.
The are two bandages applied and its really thick, probably only the outside layer of the outer bandage is dirty. But I think I will take your advice and send him a picture of the bandage every day :) Thank you for your advice.

fefgeug

Keep the bandage on until 2 weeks post op. The bandage holds the penis straight and also provides a slight squeeze to prevent erections. It is a fine balance of being tight enough to prevent blood enlarging the penis but not too tight that it restricts circulation to the head. I dont think franklin wants anyone else to apply the bandage during this critical healing phase.
I just got my bandage off today, it is fine after 13 days. I will post an update shortly on my surgery thread.

K.Bouter

Its the 10th day after the surgery.

I am not on painkillers anymore now for three days and nightly erections are slightly painful (probably 4 out of 10, its painful enough to wake me up but easily bearable). I quickly shake them off. They arent full erections yet and Dr. Kuehhas told me that the shape of the erections at this stage are probably not completely straight (as they are not full) and I cannot read anything off them so I don't pay much attention to them. Also during the day I feel a slight stinging pain sometimes in my penis. But all in all its not too bad.

Furthermore, I have full sensation in the glans, which is a good thing. Retraction already started a bit as the head of the penis is slowly crawling in the bandage, but that is something that needs to be dealt with later according to the docter.

I was a bit worried that the bandage was bending downwards a slight bit, but the doctor ensured me that this will not influence the result.

But so far so good. I sent several videos and Dr. Kuehhas told me everything is looking great and I have been healing faster than he expected, so I am very positive.
However, the most difficult part for me still is that I still need to wait to see the result.

fefgeug

Have you removed the bandage yet?
How are things now?

K.Bouter

A short update:

I have removed the bandage a few days ago. Everything is nice and pink. There is a little lump on the left side of the penis which will disappear within the coming two weeks according to Dr. Kuehhas.
Full sensation in the glans, the shaft is a bit numb (feels a bit strange after being packed so tightly for a long time) but it gets better by the day. I couldn't pull back the foreskin yet and I shoudn't try so untill a few weeks later according to Dr. Kuehhas. This is because I underwent a half circumcision and things should heal first. The stitches are slowly falling off though.

I cannot feel the stitches inside my penis very well, but I know there should be quite a lot (my surgery took 3 hours and the doctor told me he had to put quite many stitches. Although I only had a 30 degree curvature, it was a downward curbature, curvature to the left and a rotational curvature, which made it somewhat hard to correct).

Furthermore erections are sometimes painful, but I hardly have them anymore. The erections sometimes start and then I feel a somewhat stinging pain and I quickly can shake it off. The undercoolers also completely removed my willingness to have sex. However, noctal erection still appear only they are very very minor (the first week after the surgery my erections were still quite hard, now they are just slightly harder than in flaccid state and I hardly increase in size).

I shower a lot to keep everything clean and do the stretching exercises as adviced by the doctor. I really cannot wait to see the result; I am not sure about you, but for me the pain is very manageble, the waiting is much more difficult :)

fefgeug

Glad to hear everything is ok.
I can totally relate to the pain with erections, it is not bad as long as the erection is shaken off. When bandaged the erections are not really painful.
Keep it clean and use the cream I suggested. When applying the cream you will also massage the penis which is good for blood flow and healing etc. After only 3 days using the cream all stitches had disappeared and the incision site and glans was feeling normal, no pain at all when touching it.
The only pain I have is mild pain during erections, and a little tenderness when handling the shaft of penis. It is not bad though and improves every day.
It is hard having to wait for results, but hopefully it will be worth it.
The thing I miss most is my sex drive... it is non-existent due to the androcur tablets. Hopefully the wear off soon.

Best of luck with your healing

Congratulations to you guys who ve recently had surgery.

If you are not too shy or squeamish ask Dr Kuehhas for you photos and post them on the surgery thread. Pictures speak a thousand words. Personal accounts are fantastic but backed up with photos tell the full story
Happy to chat to anyone who would like more details of my journey so far, on here or on the phone

fefgeug

I have asked for surgery pictures and was promised them but nothing yet. I'll email Dr Kuehhas again.

K.Bouter

I did not ask for the 'surgery' picture yet (as it's bloody and therefore somewhat scary to look at).
But I will ask for it and put it on the forum.

K.Bouter

It's been almost 8 weeks since the surgery. Everything is going fine. My penis is completely straight for 4 weeks now. I am happy with the result, but my penis is still quite smaller than before the surgery. However, I am already really happy with the result and I can live with a smaller penis. I am using the phallosan every day now and I ll see how much I will get back. I find the machine rather annoying however and not as comfortable as some other people.

I did not try my penis out yet (I did not even mastrubate), which was very hard. Dr. Franklin said I could start sex slowly after week 6 and it is completely safe after week 8. Starting from tomorrow I will slowly start sexual activity again. I hope to be brave enough to post before - during surgery - and after pics soon.
