Cant wait to get this all sorted. Congenital curve, 50 or 60degrees to the left.
Will let you all know how it goes.

Any advice for type of underwear to wear after surgery.... I was thinking something tight and supportive might be best?

Pfract

Hope you get it sorted out. For sure somebody will help you out with the underwear question.

krazylord

As far as I can tell from people in the forum, you are in one of the bests hands in the world for Peyronie's surgery.

Good luck!

J-A

You will no doubt have a dressing on so nothing tight. I had the incision and grafting technique and had quite a large dressing. Boxers and loose fitting trousers would  be best, I wore tracksuit trousers and they were quite comfortable.

As said below you are in good hands, quite a few of us on here have had surgery with Franklin Kuehhas.

Good luck and keep us updated

JA
Happy to chat to anyone who would like more details of my journey so far, on here or on the phone

fefgeug

Thanks for the replies. I will let you all know how it goes.

Franklin Kuehhas did my surgery. As has been said, you're in good hands.

Like J-A, I wore track trousers for a day or two afterwards. You'll be bandaged for 10 days or so after surgery.

fefgeug

Operation went very well thankfully. Im back at the hotel, feeling great. I have sensation in my glans, so no nerve damage!!!!!. I will keep this updated on my healing progress. Will have follow-ups the next 2 days with Dr Kuehhas.

Hope it all goes well for you. You're probably still feeling the effects of the anasthetic, so you won't feel too bad.

Take it easy.

fefgeug

Thanks Johnb,

I physically feel great, and emotionally i am delighted. I was so nervous, I did start to get feelings just before surgery like "this is madness, I should back out now before something goes wrong". Gladly I didn't.

Shortly after I woke Dr Kuehhas visited me. Before I could even ask he told me everything went very well. He asked me if I wanted to see pictures, which I said yes to. He will show me tomorrow. Cannot wait.

Thanks to you all on this forum for advice and support... you all rock! :)

krazylord

Woww fefgeug, so glad for you. Being on this nightmare, I get very happy when I see some of us beating it!

Good job!

Jonbinspain

Fefgeug;

Glad to hear it, man. Just follow what Franklin tells you to do and you should be fine.

I suspect that the after surgery protocol may be different for your surgery, so I won't give too much more advice.

Day 2 update:
Had a follow-up with Franklin. Dressing changed, all looks well. No pain, it was just slightly sore removing the dressing where it was stuck to my glans. Slight bruising just below the glans where the stitches are. The entire penis is wrapped to prevent swelling.
Done a lot of sightseeing, no problems at all. Wearing tight underwear helps to prevent my exposed glans from rubbing.
Further check-up to come tomorrow, I will keep this updated.

Jimbruski

 Fefgueg ,

That's great news.  I've been following your posts and a success story here and there on the forum is certainly uplifting.  Keep the updates coming.

Jimbruski

fefgeug

Thanks jimbruski,
I know I was looking for success stories with a day by day account of everything. There are a few here, and they certainly helped me make the decision to have surgery.
I plan to keep this updated as a way of giving something back to the forum.

Actually, now that you mention success stories, maybe it is worth asking the moderators to created a subforum with peoples stories of beating congenital or peyronies curves.
Just a thought.

Jimbruski

Fefgeug,

Not a bad idea at all.  A home for success stories: Moderators........................?

This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Jimbruski

Skunkworks,

Maybe a step above that, to SUCCESS.  What do you think?

Jimbruski

skunkworks

I don't see the need, success is improvement. I could see the benefit to a stickied thread about surgical success in the surgery forum, but that would be for LWillisjr and Angus to decide.

Skunkworks,

Got it.  Thanks for considering!

fefgeug

Yeah I still think a surgical forum for success would be great. Actually, what I looked most for was a day by day account of peoples experience from initial consultation all the way to full recovery. It helps to know what to expect. I know I read all I could find from members who had done this.

Day 3 update:

Another follow-up with Dr Kuehhas in his office in the DC towers building in Vienna (stunning views by the way). Dressing was changed again. Slight bruising around the base of penis and scrotum, this always occurs according to Franklin.
Cleared to fly home tomorrow. Dressing will be kept on for the next 10 days, then only a dressing at night for a further 3 weeks. The purpose of the dressing is to prevent swelling and erections.
I have been taking paracetamol, anti-inflammatories, anti testerone and antibiotics.
My glans is a bit sore due to being exposed, but apart from that no other issues and no pain at all.

Jimbruski

Fefgeug,

Again good news.  That's great to hear.  I hope you continue to heal and return to an active life quickly.

The reason I'm following your post so closely is that I may be looking at surgery if traction and VED fail to produce favorable results.  My uro has already indicated that surgery is my next option but before taking that step I will continue on my course of treatment and visit Dr. Lue in San Francisco in July.  That will undoubtedly be when I know whether I will need surgery.

So keep posting your updates as you continue to heal.  I will be looking forward to reading them and I wish you well.

Day 5 update:

Awoke this morning with a slight erection and some pain on my left side near the base of penis (my stitches are on the right side). Pain was not severe, kind of like a burning stretching sensation, 2 or 3 out of 10. Went to the toilet and urinated and erection subsided.
Note that it was not a proper erection, it was more like the kind of enlargement with the penis still soft that precedes a full erection.
Glans sensation is still great, no issues there.
I managed to have a full shower yesterday, I put a condom over the bandage to keep it dry and used a cock ring at the base to keep the condom tightly sealed.

Not once have I had any regrets or doubts since surgery.

Jimbruski, Im glad to help in any way I can. Good luck.

Jonbinspain

Fefgeug;

Wait until you see your first proper erection, and it's straight! Quite a sight to behold!

fefgeug

Day 7 update:

I am waking each morning with a slight erection which subsides once I urinate. Not a proper erection, it just feels slightly enlarged. Slight pain with these erections, only 1 or 2 out of 10.
I am continuing to take androcur anti-erection tablets until 3 weeks post op.

My glans was quite sore from being constantly exposed and rubbing my underwear. I am now using a loose dressing bandage wrapped over it to prevent rubbing. Huge relief, wearing no underwear with tracksuit bottoms also helps a lot.

The bruising at the base of penis is almost gone, no pain here at all.
Other than that it is just a matter of waiting for things to heal fully.

james1947

Thanks for the updates fefgeug.
It helps others that may chose to go on your way.
Wish you fast recovery

Day 11 update:

Nothing new to report. No pain, just occasional aching which is not bad. I cannot wait to get the bandage off in a few days and get my foreskin forward, my glans will be like leather soon lol.

Jimbruski

Thanks for the update fefgeug.  I'm still following your progress.

Good luck,

Jimbruski

fefgeug

Day 13 update:

Still no issues. Healing well. Full sensation in glans. I cannot wait to get this damn bandage off in 2 days time and have a look. Its needs a good wash too, feels itchy.
Still occasional semi erections which are midly painful, around 2 or 3 out of 10.
The glans is now almost back to normal after the irritation of being exposed for the first few days. I continue to wrap it with a loose gauze to prevent rubbing. I remove it to urinate. This is a real pain when in a public place always having to use the cubicle.
I will update this when the bandage comes off.

fefgeug

Day 14 update:

Noticed slight bleeding this morning from below the frenulum. Sent photos to franklin, he said it was fine.
I asked could I remove the bandage today instead of tomorrow. Today is 13 days post op. He said it is okay to remove.
I carefully unravelled the bandage, dreading what I might see. I was afraid I would see black necrotic tissue or something.
Got the bandage fully off, everything is nice and pink. The was a tiny cut at the frenulum causing the bleeding but it is ok now.
There was a lot of dead peeling skin all over, I carefully washed with warm water. I then soaked in the bath for half an hour and removed as much dead skin as I could.
It feels weird not having the bandage.
Anyway, I am very happy, the stitches are fully healed, most of them dissolved in the bath. Around 3 stitches remain. I finally have my foreskin back over my glans, it is such a relief.
I will continue to let it heal for now with twice daily bathing.
I will need to place a bandage around the penis at nighttime for the next 3 weeks or so.

K.Bouter

Happy all is fine fefgeug. Your posts are a big help for me!

Jimbruski

Great news fefgeug.  I'm glad all is looking positive for you!

Jimbruski

Day 17 update:

Everything is healing nicely. I am showering twice a day to keep it all clean, all the dead peeling skin is now gone.
It is a huge relief to be able to move the foreskin forward over my glans again. There is a slight build up of fluid in the foreskin just before the incision line, Dr Kuehhas assures me this is normal for the first week after removing the permanent bandage. The foreskin seems slightly shorter, this may be because of the fluid build-up though.
I am continuing to wrap the penis at night using self-adhesive dressing. Any erections I get with the dressing on are not painful, just a mild pressure feeling. Without the dressing erections can be quite painful depending on the strength of them. I try to shake these erections off to prevent putting too much pressure on the sutures.
The penis seems nice and straight. I can feel the sutures, there is a group of them around 1/3 of the way down the penis on the right side, slightly nearer to the top than bottom. The second group is around 2/3 the way up, also on the right side more towards the top of the penis.

A tip for anyone who is keeping their foreskin:
After being exposed for 2 weeks my glans had developed a lot of hard skin and some areas were quite raw and painful. I used KY jelly (a personal lubricant, water-based, perfume and colour free) on the glans as a lubricant and moisturiser. It also helped pull the foreskin back over the glans. The results were amazing. Within 2 days all dead skin was gone and the glans felt nice and soft and has full sensation.

Also, the dressing that Dr Kuehhas gave me for night dressing did not last long (I used a lot of it to wrap around the exposed head when the permanent bandage was on). I found it impossible to locate in the pharmacy, I did manage to find a close equivalent although it is not as wide. I ordered it online at the link below, this is the exact same one that DR Kuehhas provides. Delivery to europe is around 3 days, best to order it well in advance of when you need it. I thing 2 rolls of 20m will be needed to dress the penis at night for 3 weeks. (using around 1.5m per night for 21 nights = 31.5m)

Day 19 update:

Only 1 or 2 stitches are left, there is one on the top side of the penis which is tender to touch. I am still getting slight erections which are mildly painful.
I am sleeping fine, the bandage at night holds everything straight so there is no pain with nocturnal erections.
There is a small patch on my foreskin on the right hand side that is numb. It is just below the incision line. It doesnt bother me really, sensation may return in the future.
My foreskin also appears slightly shorter than before.

It is healing really well. When I first removed the bandage my penis was sore when i moved it around, as if it was bruised inside. This has improved greatly. I still have to treat it gently, but it is getting better every day. I have only 3 more days on anti-erection tablets (androcur). I am looking forward to seeing my first proper erection after that. I think it takes a week or 2 for the androcur to wear off.

Jimbruski

Fefgeug,

Again, great news.  Can't wait to hear about your feelings as soon as the androcur wears off.  Keep the posts coming.  I'll more than likely be looking at surgery one day so it's been great to follow your post-op.

Just curious, which procedure did you have done?

Regards,
Jimbruski

fefgeug

Hi Jimbruski,

I had a congenital curvature to the left. I had STAGE procedure.

fefgeug

Day 22 update:

All stitches on my foreskin are completely gone, I can rub the area now with no pain whatsoever. The swelling on the foreskin is gone. My foreskin is slightly numb just below the incision line but Dr Kuehhas assures me this is normal and will improve. It doesnt bother me, the glans has full sensation.
My foreskin seems to be a bit tight around 1 inch below the incision (this would be the tip of the foreskin when it is covering the head. It is getting dry, irritated and cracking a bit. I am rubbing scar cream into it to see if that helps.
I just took my last androcur tablet, now let the fun begin lol.

fefgeug

Day 23 update:

The scar cream has really helped. Just a few days ago it was hard and painful to retract my foreskin, it is now soft and easy to retract. The cream I have been using is specially formulated to reduce scars.... it is a mix of cocoa oil and coconut oil and vitamin E among others.
It is now easy to manipulate my penis with no pain. Previously when taking it out to urinate I had to be very gentle when handling or bending it. It is almost back to normal now.
I am continuing to wrap it at night in self cohesive bandage, I will start traction therapy next week.

K.Bouter

Hey fefgeng,

I am so glad to hear everything is fine. It must be a very exciting for you. In the next 2 weeks you can probably see the result with your own eyes!

I have one question, what is the oil that you are using? Is it widely available in shops or is it difficult to find?

fefgeug

Hi K.Bouter,

I am using "Palmers cocoa butter formula with vitamin E"
Here is a picture of the bottle: https://uk.palmers.com/cocoa-butter-formula/6-cocoa-butter-formula-lotion.html
It is available everywhere, just google it.

Best of luck in your healing 8)

fefgeug

Day 27 update:

Not much new to report. I have been off the androcur 5 days now, still no proper erections. The Dr recommends I still try to shake off erections, it will take a few weeks for full erections anyway.
The scar is fully healed with no issues.
No pain, just slight tenderness when touching the main shaft.
I will start traction therapy in 2 days as recommended.
The bandage really helps at night to keep the penis stretched and also to support erections and prevent bending. There is no pain with erections when bandaged. Without the bandage I can feel pressure on the stitches and slight discomfort.
I am really missing sex. I dont have much sexual urge due to the androcur, but sex and orgasms were such a large part of my life that it is weird without it. Here's hoping the androcur wears off soon. It is impossible to find information about the length of time to wear off after only 3 weeks using it.

fefgeug

Day 29 update:

I started traction today. I am using the male edge pro extender and am really happy with it. I bought this extender last year thinking it might correct my curvature. During my research I found this forum and found that the only way to correct congenital curvature was surgery. I used the device for 2 weeks last year before deciding on surgery, I stopped using it in case it gave distorted results on my pre-op consultation. But I do have experience using it which helps.
Dr Kuehhas recommends the Phallosan Forte, and it is supposed to combat a lot of issues that strap-type extenders like the male edge have. It uses vacuum to attach itself to the glans compared to a compression loop or strap on the other devices. However, having read reviews on the Phallason Forte I discovered many people have a lot of issues with it. There are many examples on this forum. So I decided to stick with what I know, and the fact that I already had the male edge was a bonus.
When I first used the male edge last year I had a lot of issues with pain and cutting off circulation to the glans. I discovered the best way to attach the comfort strap:

1. First wrap the supplied 50mm cohesive gauze on the area just below the head and allow it to extend onto the glans about halfway.
2. Then place the comfort foam ring over the gauze. The gauze provides grip and prevents the foam from sliding up over the glans.
3. Then use the strap in the normal way, being careful not to clamp the penis too tight.
4. Keep a close eye on the glans, ensuring it does not turn blue. It is normal for it to feel a little cold, but as long as it is nice and pink all is ok. Test occasionally by pinching the glans and ensure when you release it it looks white but quickly turns pink again. If the glans appears blue this means no blood is entering it, ie the artery is constricted. Equally dangerous is where the penis appears red but doesnt go white when pinched, this indicates the veins are constricted.
5. Set the tension around 1000g, checking occasionally. I find that the strap does tned slide up the penis slightly during use and the tension subsequently drops. I just increase the tension, remember it is better to have the strap on the loose side rather than too tight.
6. Every 30 mins or so disconnect the strap from the tension rods (leaving the strap attached to the penis) and massage the head to provide relief and fresh blood flow.

I was expecting a lot of pain initially, so started off with light tension. After a few minutes I realised that I could increase the tension to between 1000 and 1200 grams with no issues. No real pain, just a pressure feeling. I did a total of 2 hrs this morning and 1 hour this evening.
I measured my penis when stretched in the extender. It was previously over 18cm, it now measures around 16.5 cm. Taking into account that my penis will have retracted from the medication I should regain this 1.5cm quickly.

I have no pain after using the traction (just a litle tenderness) and am really happy with how things are progressing.

I am looking forward to full erections returning.

fefgeug

Day 31 update:

I had my first poper erection today. It was not completely full but very close. There was no pain if i held it pointed straight up.

And it was perfectly STRAIGHT!!!!!!!

I am using the male edge extender for around 3 hours per day on low tension, no issues at all.

Jonbinspain

fefgeug

Yes Johnb, I am really happy. I can't wait to use it.

K.Bouter

So happy for you fefgeug! Was this with or without the nightbandage on? I only get full erections during the night, during the day its not even close to a full erection at this point of time.

Again, congratulations! Awesome news.  :)

fefgeug

It was this morning without the bandage. Thanks for your support.
It was not a full erection but the biggest I have seen so far.
My previous erections were very small and not straight.

Jimbruski

WOW fefgeug that is really cool.  I'll bet you are happy.  And thanks again for taking us along on your journey.  It makes surgery easier to accept as an option.

Jimbruski

fefgeug

Thanks Jimbruski.
I have had no regrets from surgery. I had a couple of minor irritations like tight foreskin, etc but overall no problems. My incision scar is fully healed, my foreskin in intact and back to normal. I am so glad I had this surgery and cannot wait until I get to use my new penis.
If you are considering surgery, contact Dr Kuehhas. Flights are cheap nowadays.

Dieter

hi guys!

i have also a congenital curvature and i am kind in despair. some time ago i went to a clinic in munich to see what i can do about my curvature. the urologists there want me to undergo the nesbit method but honestly i dont know if this would be a good idea. i was told about too many side effects.....

i read a lot of stuff about dr kuehhas and the stage technique in this forum but i dont know if i should see him... would it be worthy to make an appointment with him? it seems that the stage technique is better than nesbit... or am i wrong? would you recomend him/ the stage technique?

maybe you can give me an advice what i should do because honestly i dont know....

thanks!
