Feasibility Study of Intra-cavernosal Administration of Non-Expanded Autologous Bone Marrow Cells in Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction.

Clinical trials are ready to begin on the above treatment of ED.  Is anyone familiar with this study?

Thanks for the response.  This is what I've been able to dig up so far.

Intracavernous administration of bone marrow mononuclear cells: a new method of treating erectile dysfunction?.

I was alerted to the trials by Center Watch.

Very interesting article. It makes me want to get my cholesterol tested. :)  I assume the trial is state-side or I'd be on it like a shot. Nonetheless, I have an appt with one of UK's leading uroandrologists next month. I'll mention the study to him.

Thanks for the link

Thanks for the link Jimbruski

As it was successful with other body parts treating vascular disorders, it may help with the penis also especially as was stated that:
QuoteThe penile vasculature is the most endothelial-rich anatomical region of the body, thus even a small amount of therapeutic cells are likely to be incorporated
Let's hope they will start soon and the results will give hope to many of us :)

Looks fantastic, I'll mention to my urologist in a couple of weeks when I see him.
Thanks for the heads up.

UPDATE:

The trials are taking place at UCLA in Torrance, California.  Unfortunately I don't fit the age requirement or I'd be there.  I applied anyhow but don't hold out much hope.

It would sure be interesting if a member of this forum participated and was able to report on the findings, but that is an individual choice.

Good idea to apply anyway. With clinical trials, if they are struggling to recruit they will often relax some of the eligibility criteria.

Such a shame it's stateside :(

UPDATE:

I was turned down for the trial because of my age, however I was impressed that less than a week after applying I received a call from the Dr. At UCLA.

They must be hungry for applicants...................

Jimbruski, it would be ideal if you can keep contact with the Dr. to somehow get updated on how the trials are going once they start.

Jimbruski

Krazylord,

I agree, it would be great to follow the trials, however I doubt that they will release any information while the trial is in progress.  I think the key is to be able to know when the trial will end and request a copy of the results.  If any members know the protocol for acquiring a copy of the results please chime in.  I don't mind doing the legwork, but just not sure of how to go about that.  The results may only be released to licensed professionals first.

Any help is appreciated.
