Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking and am amazed at all the great contributions and information here. Thank you all.

So.. I am 39 years old and happily married. January 2015, I suddenly discovered the hour glass shape. It came right out of the blue immediately after being prescribed some beta-blocker med from my doctor for slightly high blood pressure. Shortly after it became a mild upward bend. After discovering this site and lurking on it I discovered the plaque (or other hardness) right in the center top of the shaft. For a good 6+ months it has not gotten any worse. There is very little to no pain at all.

At this point my mini-me is not as long as he used to be and when I get an erection, he usually dwindles away about 2 minutes, right when I need him the most.

Due to crummy insurance, simply hoping it would fix itself, and embarrassment, I have not gone to see a urologist yet. I now am ready to attack this thing and do whatever it takes. January 1 my new insurance kicks in as well, which is in just a few days. I am in Durham NC an this urologist seems to really be an expert on Payronie's. https://www.med.unc.edu/urology/about-us/people/faculty-pages/carson

My normal Dr gave me 20mg Cialis pills which I have not yet taken as the dose appears to be too high. But, I am tempted to, just not sure what to do regarding the Cialis at this point.

I just ordered some L Arginine from Amazon.

Can't wait to see the urologist.

The high BP stemmed from me sitting too much. I am a computer programmer and have no problem sitting around for 12hrs at a time. I have been much more active lately and just joined a gym.

Any suggestions, thoughts, or other input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

You've taking the right first step by seeing a urologist. I would as for a scan to determine the extent of the plaque.

Unfortunately, beta blockers are a well known suspect in the onset of Peyronies. I too have them to blame for my Peyronies.

Hopefully, your Uro will prescribe you Pentox. In the meantime I'd suggest, ALC, Arginine or Citrulline Malate, CoQ10 - or better still Ubiquinol. The Cialis that you have you can cut into 4 pieces, you want to take approx 5mg daily. Larger doses are for sex, if you need them.

I would suggest that you investigate the sections on traction and VED. Either, or both of these can help with curvature and hourglassing.

The main thing is to attack this now! Don't wait, and any doctor who prescribes you Vit E and suggests 'wait and see', walk out and don't go back!  Waiting is the very worst thing you can do with Peyronies. .

I'm going to give you my standard "welcome" message, with links to some good information.  Not only a URO, but one with some expertise in this condition is in order.

Nutritionally, consider that you might be Magnesium Deficient.  Peyronie's (PDS) is a fibrosis condition, and most such conditions seem to be associated with Magnesium Deficiency.  Modern farming techniques strip Magnesium out of our food supply.  Magnesium Chloride is a good place to start.  Magnesium Citrate is more bioavailable, and there is even a topical solution which might work better still.

This condition has many varieties, and what works for one may not work for you.  Don't despair if you don't have success right away.  Patience is key.

Traction and VED (Vacuum Erection Device) are both tools in this battle.  Old Man is the resident VED expert.  In either traction or VED, caution is important.  Introduction of "new" injury will only make things worse.

Good Luck,

kuaka

Excellent, looks like these OTC supplements are something I could benefit from anyways! I'll have them all in 48hrs.

Thank you for chiming in.

Perfect, thanks. I've scanned all of those before but today I followed through and read each one thoroughly.

I am happy to see that the Urologist near me I mentioned is on the list! He's published several papers on Peyonie's as well.

I will look into Magnesium. I was at the Dr recently, I wonder if they tested that. Hmm..

Thank you

Unfortunately, "testing" for magnesium deficiency is not easy.  It seems to be pervasive in our systems.  The primary dietary source is green vegetables...of which most of us do not eat enough, and modern farming techniques have stripped what we do eat.  It certainly won't hurt to supplement...it is not toxic, although some compounds can be laxative in high quantities...(i.e. "Milk of Magnesia")
