I had a transplant earlier this year so my ordeal with Peyronies had to be put on hold.  After about four months out, I felt well enough to go through with verapmil injections that was suggested to me prior to my transplant.   The first two injections seemed to work slightly but after that there was little to no improvement.  I had my last injection last month and while my curve hasn't gotten worse I have even more plaques now.  To make matters worse it seems to be a slight upward curve too now.

This morning I had a yearly follow up with my first Urologist and they confirmed that the plaque is worse now.  Prior to injections I had one bad plaque and one minor one.  This morning he counted four and they all are large.  I showed him a picture and looking at it he says it's a good 40 degree curve.   He wants to try Xiaflex now but needs to get insurance approval.  He said if xiaflex doesn't work then I'll have to get a penile implant.  I'm not doing that so if I'm approved for xiaflex and it doesn't work, I'll just give up. My sex life is already non-existent since my wife hasn't wanted anything to do with me in over a year and has been very unsupportive with everything, so I'm just about ready to accept that part of my life is over at 38 as I know no women will want to be with me.  Honestly it's annoying but I really don't care. I'm still attracted to women but the thought of being intimate with them hardly ever crosses my mind anymore.  I don't know if it's the anti rejection drugs or the fact my penis is f"ed up but I just don't have the desire anymore.

Anyway, unfortunately many insurance companies may make you try verapamil first before even considering approving xiaflex, but if you have the option I would say go straight to xiaflex.

As far as I know there is just one study showing any improvement from Verapamil, and that was when it was used in conjunction with traction - Combination of penile traction, intralesional verapamil, and oral therapies for Peyronie's disease. - PubMed - NCBI

Those results could have been solely from the traction also. It's not a treatment I would recommend to anyone.

There are a whole host of other treatments you can try ziogwe, it is just a matter of reading the forum. This is a good place to start - Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Man, don't give up on your penis at 38. Don't rule out an implant either - the guys who have them think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread - a veritable bionic penis. So don't rule that out.

I understand what you're saying with your wife, but bear in mind, she could change her attitude. Beyond that, marriages don't necessarily last forever, however you will have your penis until the day you die. You might as well do what you can to keep it in working order, come what may.
