My situation has gotten a lot worse over the last 6 mos, going from a minor bend to huge hourglass and a 30 deg upward bend, with glans unable to get hard anymore. I've tried Pentox but it made me really sick and so instead I've been on supplements which help the blood flow, and they do help with daily erections. I'm still able to have intercourse but it's getting very difficult without my partner being very careful and not being able to enjoy herself. My doctor wants to do the verapmil injections but in my mind I'm wondering if it might just make things worse. I had them scheduled for tomorrow but I'm getting cold feet and will probably cancel. He said my bend isn't enough to be approved for Xiaflex, but it looks like 30 degrees to me. He then told me the only other option is surgery/prosthesis and I about threw up in the office.

Does Verapimil help hourglass cases? Does Xiaflex seem to have better outcomes than Verapimil? I realize some people here have it worse than me but suicidal would be an understatement at this point.

It's difficult to say what will help you or not help you. Some respond to Verapamil, some don't. i was to the point of being willing to try anything that would potentially help me.

I had a ~65 deg bend to the left.  Had six Verapmil injections[starting Spring '15], 1 every 2 weeks then took a break[partly do to my vacation schedule].  Then restarted with six more injections.  Conclusion: The bend was still there upon erection BUT the 'plaque' was 'plyable', i.e. it bent back toward straight upon penetration.  Thus, the issue was functionally and substantially reduced.

I'm starting to think verapamil with traction or even VED might be worthwhile, due to hte plaque softening, but not the injections by itself.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

So let's refer to the sources. Verapamil is L-type calcium channel blocker and vasodilator. In the case of Peyronies it can be used to improve blood flow by expanding blood vessels and blocking the process of tissue calcification.
From this description it follows that it can be helpful.

And yet no study using verapimil alone has shown positive effect on Peyronie's.
