Hi, I'm seeking advice from a voice of experience after having suffered a penile fracture around 10 weeks ago. I have left a post in the traction section already, which pretty much covers everything I want to say/know for now, but will copy/paste it here as well in the hope I can get advice from any new friends that may be willing to help, so, here goes:

Hi, I'm obviously completely new here & my condition is newly acquired, I am anxious, but determined to improve my situation, please forgive my ignorance & please help me & guide me here.. I could really do with a few friends in this regard  - I suffered a penile fracture around 10 weeks ago, had surgery within 24 hours of my injury, which was performed by a reputable andrology team here in the UK, BUT the aftercare is most certainly lacking. I have curvature of 30 degrees to the left now, obviously caused by scar tissue resulting from the surgery.. Which as far as I can tell is pretty much the same issue all sufferers of peyrione's experience.

My urologist advised me to buy a vacuum device (which is about all he has advised me to do at the mo).. Which I did, however due to the high price tag of £250 of the medical device he recommended, I plumped for a cheaper option (the mustang made by body images here in the UK). Apparently it's a good pump but the instructions didn't mention a safe pressure zone.. So I believe I over did it at pressures between 5-10 hg on & off for 30 secs - 1 min at a time over a period of 30 mins to an hour twice a day for 3 days. After these 6 sessions, I experienced some pain - sharp twinges where the scar tissue is & a weird sharp twinge in the middle of my shaft.. These were more prevalent yesterday & have thankfully subsided today - I haven't pumped now for 2 days - having looked up dangers of pumping & found out the safe zone is in fact 0 - 5 hg... I will probably continue pumping in the "safe zone" on Tues this week (or once I have no more pains at all) - PLEASE ADVISE

Also, surfing the net re fractures/peyronies I discovered traction devices (last night) & after a couple of hours of looking around, I have ordered the "andropeyronie" device - it seemed that this was the only medically backed device with directional pressure capabilities - hence most suited to my curvature issue.. Now further research has brought me here.. So, have I made a good choice of traction device? If the size genetics device (which looked v popular) would have been better, I can invest in that in a few month's time when I'll be able to afford it.. Again, PLEASE ADVISE

I have also seen literature on oral medication etc - Does anyone here recommend Kanabo repair xtreme? I have seen posts referring to other oral medication designed to break down the scar tissue.. What medication should I be discussing with my urologist? What medication do any of you recommend.. PLEASE ADVISE.

I do hope I haven't come across as rude or bombarded you all with too many questions on this one link, but as I say, I am new, v anxious about my situation and desperately looking to learn & garner the right advice ASAP. Thank you in advance if you are about to reply with advice for me.

Pain is an indicator that you overdid it.

What you want from VED: Expand the Tunica to as near its before-injury size as possible so that any scarring you develop will NOT bind the Tunica sufficiently to result in erection issues.  This should be minimal vacuum but at least twice daily.  The object is NOT to get an erection, but to expand the tissue so that it does not get bunched up by scarring.

What you don't want: Pain.  Expansion to the point of introducing additional injury...which is one thing pain indicates.

It is a balance...and a delicate one.

The same principle applies to traction.  Just enough to keep any scarring from binding up the Tunica.  The Tunica is the mesh like structure which constrains the erectile tissue and results in a hard erection.  It is the bunching up of these fibers in scar tissue...called plaque...which defines Peyronie's in my opinion.  Calcification can also be present and only further complicates matters.

Good luck.

Hi Nubuk,

I'm a relatively new member to this forum and also from the UK. The following oral medications and supplements are popular (or at least mentioned) in this forum:-

Medication:-

Pentox / Pentoxyfilline - Helps blood flow, makes blood more easily absorbed by tissue. v.popular but UK urologists seem reluctant to prescribe it.
Potaba / Potassium paraaminobenzoate -  Supposed anti-fibrotic which helps oxygen uptake by scar tissue. I managed to get a private prescription, but it isn't cheap - £125 a month. Coming to the end of my 2nd month, no significant changes so far :(
Cialis & Viagra - Help blood flow, getting erections.

Dietary supplements:-
Coq10 / ubiquinol - helps with cell growth and maintenance. Anti-oxidant.
AcetyL L-Carnitine - amino acid. Apparently can reduce pain and slow condition
L-Arginine - Amino acid. Improves blood flow and erection quality as it heightens levels of Nitric Oxide. I've had some success with this. PM me if you want to know a good brand in the UK.

I'd welcome more experienced members to add any more people have found useful.

I quickly looked up Kanabo Repair Xtreme - I also found a thread on this forum about it. Looking at the ingredients it seems to contain some of the supplements above, but I'll wager in pretty small doses. I'm also suspicious of any website with 'love' in the title. But if it's cheap, why not give it a shot? And report back to the forum with results  :)

A few questions to you if you don't mind...

Who is your urologist / andrologist? What was the vacuum device your urologist recommended?(need to buy one more myself).

Best

Hi Kuaka,

Thank you for your advice, you have confirmed exactly what I thought was the case, although further damage was obviously not what I had intended.. Any educated guess as to what I might have done exactly? I have still subsequently managed an erection so I'm hoping nothing too severe!

Nubuk;

I use a VED too. As Kuaka says, if you experience any pain or discomfort, stop and release the pressure immediately. I have also over pumped before now with no serious consequences so, unless you're very unlucky, I that you've done any lasting damage.

But, let your dick be your guide with VED. If it doesn't like it, stop.
