Been viewing this forum for a while, so I finally decided to share something that is working for me. Im going to give a short version of what happened to me:

- used a cock ring during sex, scarred the bottom left of my shaft because of extended use
- saw 7 urologists since nov. 2013, all of them said nothing was wrong or i didn't show classic peyronies symptoms
- finally got an MRI April 2014, which proved the scarring on the bottom left of my shaft, which explains gradual curve to the left
- decided to ditch conventional docs and go my own route
- meditation has been the single best therapy for my improvement

I'm going to tell you what I do for meditation, but I highly encourage you to research and decide what type is best for you. Basically, I breathe into my lower stomach and clear my mind until I'm in what 'they' call zen. In zen one is not thinking of anything. Its not really that your mind is blank, its just clear and you are at peace. After reaching this point I can focus on different body parts. It may be wishful thinking, but I swear this 'focusing' causes increased blood flow to that area, and this is why...

If I focus on my feet, and feel my breathe leave my stomach when I exhale and go into my feet, I will get a good tingling sensation in my feet. I will then focus up my legs, going from feet, to my calves, to my knees, and to my thighs. As I focus on each new part of my leg, I do not lose focus on the lower regions. Once I get near my pelvic area, and even without focusing on my penis, my penis will suddenly inflate to full erection. Once this happens I will try to focus on my penis and try to feel energy go into it as I breathe.

Since I have been doing this I would say that my chronic pain has dropped dramatically, no more burning in my penis while Im at work or sitting in a car seat. I now have nocturnal erections and consistent morning wood.

I have seen other posts suggest breathing techniques and mediation, and I highly recommend it. It will help you in so many ways other than peyronies. Its a skill to learn and train, and its free.

As the rest of my title shows I will review other treatments. Some of these aren't typical treatments suggested in most posts. I have spent a lot of money on these, and I can tell you that the meditation / breathing techniques have been more effective than some of these.

Other Alt Treatments I have tried / am trying include:
- Stem cell injection
- Class III laser ( I bought my own)
- systemic enzymes (I'm giving this 6 more months to determine an effect)
- god status nutrition ( I will never give this up)
- specific penile blood flow supplementation (during same duration as enzyme therapy)

I will give updates on these other treatments when I have time in the following days / weeks. But as some other members have suggested, get started right away with the meditation. I promise it will not only cause physical improvements, but it will virtually cure your distress. Since I started mediation in Nov. 2014, I am in a better mental state than I was prior to my peyronies.

Hello and thanks for your great post! Perhaps you have read a post I made last year about a breathing technique not much different from yours.

I thank for for posting this. Meditation and deep breathing has defenite positive effects on this condition. I guess it is atleast partly the relaxation of the pelvic area which increases blood flow into the penis. I am sure the breathing and de-stressing also works positive on other aspects of the vascular system.

1+ from here. Thanks again for sharing something cost efficient, easy and useful for the members here.

FriskyDingo

Yes it was your post. And I agree, I can definitely feel the increased blood flow while doing this. The control I feel over myself is amazing as well. I like to think I could be locked in a cell the rest of my life and I would be able to cope just fine with it. But, the goal here is to fix the peyronies. If my alternative treatments fail in my allotted time frame, then I will most likely go for surgery. Prior to adopting mediation, I would have been too frightened to try surgery, or too lazy to accrue the resourced to have it done. I had to be put under for non-related surgeries in my past, and every time before the drug was administered I would be trembling in fear. I don't think this would be the case anymore. I view potential surgery as a very good potential for my situation, and I am not afraid of the thought of the actual procedure. Furthermore, I am in a position to finance it, but I am going to exhaust all other options that are viable in my opinion.

Speaking of those options... I'm going to write on them either tomorrow or the day after. I will try to include a basic cost analysis as well for those who may want to consider them. Remember, meditation and breathing are free.

You mean you have tried many times to achieve zen and could not reach it? At first it was difficult for me to clear my mind. I could do it for about 10 seconds at a time before random stuff began popping in my mind. But now, as I did last night, I sat there for 15 minutes staring at a field before I did my focused meditation. You can do this. When I first started I either repeated 'Here I am right now, and nothing else matters', or I counted by breathes.

FriskyDingo

As I promised in my first post I will review these alternative treatments, and I will give a cost analysis as well.

- Meditation / Breathing Techniques

Treatments I may try in the future:
- accupuncture
- surgery
- chiropractic care

For the treatments I have tried or am currently applying, I will rank them with 1-5 stars:
- Mediation / Breathing techniques: 5 star
- High disciplined and researched nutrition : 5 star
- Non-penile or non-peyronies specific supplementation : 4 star
- blood flow supplementation: 3 star
- systemic enzyme supplementation 2 star
- class 3 cold laser therapy: 3 star
- stem cell injection: 1 star

I have covered meditation and breathing in my earlier posts. If you have any questions please let me know.

Topic One: Nutrition

I dont care what kind of advanced treatment or surgery you receive, if your nutrition is garbage then your body cannot repair itself. More specifically, if your body is in a constant inflammatory state, then you it will not heal properly. I will not go into full detail of every aspect of what I believe to be proper nutrition, but I will give a brief explanation of what I eat and why I eat.

What I do: I eat a non-processed diet of a relatively balanced macro nutrient profile that is probably 50% fat, 30% protein, 20% carbohydrates. I NEVER, and I mean i never slip or take an off day or make an exception, eat processed foods (think chips, soda, baked goods, refined carbohydrates), or food prepared in cooked vegetable oils. I highly encourage you do look up how nasty oxidized vegetable oils are for you. I also encourage you to explore how beneficial saturated fats are for you (despite that they are demonized). I only eat meats from grass fed animal and chicken eggs from pasture raised hens as to avoid toxin build ups that occur in CAFO animals. Furthermore, pasture raised animals will have a superior omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. It is the ratio of omega 3 to 6 that determines much of the inflammation levels in our bodies. My carbohydrates come from whole plants that I prepared myself. I also eat easily digested raw vegetables on a daily basis.
I also eat fermented vegetables on a daily basis and a home made bone gelatin. I believe these two things I have cured my chronic eczema. I started fermented vegetables and bone gelatin independent of any other dietary or supplement changes. Two weeks after eating this foods, my eczema COMPLETELY disappeared. I have not had a reoccurance in over a year. Based on my anecdotal evidence, and other reports and research easily found on the web, I believe these two foods are extremely anti-inflammatory and healing.

I spend about $125USD on food every week. I will give an example of what I may eat in any given day, and a cost break down for the week. I eat two meals a day.

  On any given day...
Meal 1: 1lb grass fed burger,
steamed sweet potatoes in a boat load of grass fed butter or grass fed tallow (rendered beef fat) and 5 table spoons
1 cup of home made fermented vegetables (right now I have a mix of cabbage, carrots, celery, and kale)
1 head of red leaf lettuce or romaine lettuce (high digestible nitric oxide producing plant with a high nutrition profile)\
(if i do not have lettuce then I will eat about 4 stalks of celery, another easy digested plant that produce nitric oxide)
             4 pasture raised hen eggs
             1 avocado (sometimes)

Meal 2: 6 pasture raised eggs
             2 bananas or 1 avocado
any amount of celery or lettuce
             1/2 cup fermented veggies
homemade raw juice of random veggies a bought at the store

For rotatining foods, I will switch out things like sweet potatoes for pineapple, or plaintains, or butternutsquash, ect to add diversity and more nutrition.
I did not include condiments (such as spicy brown mustard) or preparation methods that make the food more interesting.
Again, nothiing in those meals in procssed or uses processed vegetable oils that can oxidize.

I will give a simple cost breakdown that I have used when I was kind of short on money and I could not buy too many different things

-7lbs grass fed burger (from a local farm) @ $5.00/lb: $35
-6 dozen pasture raised hen eggs (same farm) @ 4.50/dozen: $27
-4 heads of romaine (or red lettuce) and 4 bunches of celery (all organic) at $1.67 each:
-7 avocados at $1 each
-3lbs of frozen butternut squash: $7.50
-3lbs sweet potatoes: $3.50
-1 large pineapple: $3.50
-a lot of bananas and plantains: ~$8
-3lbs of kerry gold butter or grass fed tallow: $9
-3lbs beef gelatin bones (to make the gelatin myself): ~$10
-raw veggies to make fermented vegetables (mostly cabbage): ~10

Total cost: $133.86 and I generally have left over bone gelatin, eggs, sweet potatoes, and butter for the next week so I am guessing it averages to around $125.

This diet provides a high level of nutrition, anti-inflammatory foods, a good rotation on carbohydrates, and some diversity (you can really add  anything to the fermented vegetables and get alot of different veggies that way).

I promise you, if you can afford this ( I think its relatively cheap), a diet like this will make you feel better.
Do not cheat.

I encourage you to find a nearby local organic / pastured-raised farm near you. It will cut the cost of quality meats and eggs dramatically.

Next I will post of supplements and I will include studies for these.

another option that works perfectly is to focus on you breath. E.g. moving air in your nose.

Did you check your cholesterol lately?

James

Check my cholesterol as in check it to see if it is too high due to my diet? If this is what you are referring to, then I would suggest you look up how beneficial dietary cholesterol is. In fact, only a few months ago, the FDA (not that I use the FDA as source of dietary advice by any means) reversed its position on cholesterol, and it is now promoted by the FDA as being NOT harmful. In fact, in my opinion based on my own research, cholesterol is an important molecule in repairing tissue damage. Furthermore, cholesterol is the base molecule for important hormones such as testosterone and vitamin D. To purposely avoid dietary cholesterol (so long is not oxidized by industrial processing) would be damaging to ones health, in my opinion.

And yes I have had by cholesterol checked within the last year for work purposes (I have been eating high cholesterol whole foods for a very long time), and my circulating cholesterol was perfect, as was my blood pressure.

I agree. I like to feel the air enter my nose and into my lungs. I feel the energy it creates, feels good.

Alright, here goes the supplement review. The intention of the supplement isn't really to reveal new supplements to the forum, I know most or all of these have been discussed at some point. However, I may shed light on certain supplement forms, combinations, and dosages that have no been discussed. At the minimum, this will reinforce the efficacy of certain supplements.

Supplement Review

What I take:
Horny Goat Weed (500mg at 10$ iicarin) - I believe this to be extremely beneficial
Damiana Extract (300mg at 1:1 ration) - I believe this to be extremely beneficial
Pycnogenol (100mg)
Astaxanthin (12mg)
Krill Oil (500mg)
Fish Oil (500mg)
Vitamin K2 (2200mg) - I believe this to be extremely beneficial
Vitamin D3
Elemental Magnesium (500mg) - I believe this to be extremely beneficial
Gingko Biloba (120mg)
Ubiquinol (100mg)
Serrapeptase (320,000 units)
Nattokinase (6,000 units)

I will go into detail of the ones I believe to be extremely beneficial. I like those supplements a lot because of first hand evidence I have seen of them working or because of studies that I think prove them to be of immense benefit to us.

Damiana
Wow. This stuff works. It does things no other supplement has. I have a moderate case of ED from my peyronies. When I take this stuff as the suggest dosage of the bottle, I will be fully sexually potent after 2 days of use. I mean truly sexually potent. So potent that I can't sleep unless I relieve myself. Therefore, I now take this stuff at about 1/4 to 1/3 the recommended dose. Even at this dose I have noticed stronger nocturnal erections, random day erections when relaxing, and more interest in women. I also don't feel pain from the erections produced by damiana. It is important to note that I use a 1:1 liquid extract, not a dried powdered leaf. I tried the dried powdered leaf and it gave me wet dreams without a lot of the other benefits I see with the liquid extract, but that is just my personal experience. Furthermore, studies show that Damiana exhibits anti-aromatase activity and helps with recovery from sexual fatigue. Aromatase is an enzyme that converts testosterone and its precursors into estrogens. Furthermore, personally accounts of damiana use across the web indicate that is potent in rekindling sexual desire. Studies below:

Anti-aromatase activity of the constituents from damiana (Turnera diffusa) - Anti-aromatase activity of the constituents from damiana (Turnera diffusa). - PubMed - NCBI
Turnera diffusa Wild (Turneraceae) recovers sexual behavior in sexually exhausted males - Turnera diffusa Wild (Turneraceae) recovers sexual behavior in sexually exhausted males. - PubMed - NCBI

Horny Goat Weed
If take this stuff in too high a dose for too long I will get wet dreams. I also feel more in charge of stuff in general when I take this. Furthermore, about a week after introducing HGW, I started getting more nightly erections, similar to Damiana. Just so you know, I introduced most of these supplements independent of each other, so I think I can attribute any positive effects to them. HGW is a natural PDE5 inhibitor, and has been shown to help with genital nerver recovery. I had taken this stuff out of fun in the past before peyronies. In my experience, I was receiving no reason boners all the time, was constantly horny, and thought anything that was a female was attractive. I like HGW over the pharmcuetical counterparts (Viagra, ect) because I believe there are less chances of experiencing a side effect. Main study below:

Treatment of Peyronie's disease with PDE5 inhibitors: an antifibrotic strategy - http://www.nature.com/nrurol/journal/v7/n4/full/nrurol.2010.24.html -

Erectogenic and neurotrophic effects of icariin, a purified extract of horny goat weed (Epimedium spp.) in vitro and in vivo.] - Erectogenic and neurotrophic effects of icariin, a purified extract of horny goat weed (Epimedium spp.) in vitro and in vivo. - PubMed - NCBI - This was done with rats, but I believe based on my experience with HGW, that the same effects are in humans. From now on, if I post a study that uses rats its because I believe the same effects occur in humans.

Vitamin K2
If you arent taking this now then I highly suggest taking it asap. As many of you may know, its hard to get from food because K2 is found in either grass fed butters / pastured eggs and especially in specific fermented foods (raw grass fed cheese, natto, sauerkraut with specific bacterial strains. The main role of Vitamin k2 is to direct calcium into the bones and prevent it from being deposited in soft tissue. I have come across a couple studies showing that it can prevent and REVERSE calcification of soft tissue. This may explain why I do not have any calcification in my scarring after my second MRI (although I have only had peyronies for only 2 years). Even though I have not seen this supplement prevent or reverse soft tissue calcification (how can I?), I believe its relatively inexpensive price and potential benefit as shown by studies makes it a must: Studies below:

High-Dose Menaquinone-7 Supplementation Reduces Cardiovascular Calcification in a Murine Model of Extraosseous Calcification. - High-Dose Menaquinone-7 Supplementation Reduces Cardiovascular Calcification in a Murine Model of Extraosseous Calcification. - PubMed - NCBI - There are other studies that confirm this. The word for word result of this study is 'Our results show that high-dose MK-7 supplementation inhibits the development of cardiovascular calcification. The protective effect of MK-7 may be related to the inhibition of secondary mineralization of damaged vascular structures.'

Hey guys, I have run out of time for now. I will finish the post either later tonight or in the next coming days. Please remember, no matter what supplements you are taking, a wholesome diet void of processed foods will always be more important.

Elemental Magnesium
If you read alternative health articles, then you will have read that this mineral is important for over 300 enzymatic processes in the human  body. I cannot tell you what they all are, but I have been taking it for a while. I have strong anecdotal evidence for this, but not peyronie's related. I lift 5 days a week and I am a server at 2 different restaurants (45-50hr work weeks). Basically, I put my body under a lot of physical stress. I use to get insane calf cramps in my sleep. These cramps were so bad I would scream from them. I would also get terrible hamstring spasms when sitting at night. I read on one of my favorite alternative health sites that this may be a result of magnesium defficiency, and many of the members on that site said it worked for them. I started taking a high quality mag supplement, and viola, I never got those cramps or spasms again. So I believe this mineral is potent. Furthermore, and I cannot give good evidence for this, but I believe its one of many minerals depleted by poor farming practices, making it hard to obtain in even a healthy diet. Furthermore, it is important to get a mag supplement that is of high bioavailability. Magnesium oxide is garbage, with a single digit percentage absorbption rate. Magnesium glycinate is a high absorption supplement. Research this. My studies below:

Rapid recovery from major depression using magnesium treatment. - Rapid recovery from major depression using magnesium treatment. - PubMed - NCBI
This basically explains how and why we are magnesium deficient, and how important the mineral is for brain neuron health.

Im not going to get into much detail about the other supplements, just some quick stuff.

Fish Oil / Krill: I take these because I do not eat a lot of fish. I do not eat a lot of fish because high quality non-polluted fish is damn expensive. However, I may cut back on the fish oil because my diet is mostly grass fed meats and pasture eggs, which have a favorable omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. Do not be cheap with your fish oil. Find a supplement that is tested for potency, pollutants, and that it is not oxidized product. There is a lot of documentation out there showing many of the cheaper fish oil supplements are oxidized, which means you are paying money to hurt yourself.
Vitamin D: By now we all know why this is important, I dont take it if I am getting sun exposure regularly.
Astaxanthin: Potent anti-oxidant, I take it because of my high physical lifestyle. I will probably stop taking this.
Pycnogenol: Potent anti-oxidant, protects good nitric oxide from oxidation.
Gingko Biloba: Ive read some studies suggesting this increase blood flow to extremeties, including the genitals. There are also accounts of it restoring endotherial function in the penis, but it supposedly takes 6 months to start happening. Im on my 4th consecutive month of taking Gingko, and if I dont see anything special by the 7th (to give it a 1month buffer), I will stop taking it.

Serrapeptase and Nattokinase: Ok so these are a dice roll. A lot of members on this forum have found them to be of no benefit. So far I agree, I have not seen anything from them in the 2 months I have been taking it. However, these supposedly take 6 months to start showing noticeable effects, or so my sources have said. I will give these there allotted 6-7 months. If no benefits seen then, then I will stop taking these as well.

So that basically concludes my supplement regimen. There are a lot of other beneficial supps out there, like ALCAR, that I do not take. I take the ones I do because I have researched them and have come up with a supplementation plan for them that includes cost and time of expected benefit.

Supplementation quality is important. I think a few core high quality supplements are much better than a bunch of low quality ones. I listed 5 supplements that I think are of immense benefit, and I suggest you make a small investment in simply trying them for 1-2 months. If you don't eat a lot of fish or have a diet notably high in omega 6, then I'd say get a high quality fish or krill oil too.

If you want to know which supplements brands I specifically use, then PM, I wont post them here. The 13 supplements I am taking at this time are made up of 8 different brands. I like to think I have research them thoroughly to find the best brands for each specific supplement.

Just a note on dietary.  Cholesterol you eat does not become cholesterol in your blood.  Blood cholesterol is a protective response to a "too low" blood ph.  If you have "high" blood cholesterol, consider dietary modifications.  Research foods which "alkalize" blood ph.

FriskyDingo

[Full quote removed by admin]

I agree with you about dietary cholesterol not necessarily becoming serum cholesterol. From what I have read, cholesterol is released into the blood stream in response to inflammation or some kind of damage. HDL cholesterol is anti inflammatory and initiates the healing process. Attempting to reduce blood cholesterol, especially HDL (there are types of beneficial LDL as well, which most people have not heard of), is akin to taking a pharmaceutical to reduce a fever. A fever, just like the cholesterol, is produced by the body for a very important purpose. I cannot comment on alkalizing blood ph, I have read about it, but not enough to make an informed comment on it.
