Thanks for having this forum.

I'm 45. Suffered a sports injury 2 years ago which has landed me here.  Have been taking pentoxifylline and colchicine for most that time, and just enjoyed the wonderful experience of my first xiaflex injection yesterday.

I know many fellas here are more impacted than me.  Regardless, thoroughly frustrating experience.  I'm semi functional with the stability support Viagra provides... But as a single dating guy, my urologist's instructions are non-fungible with the sequence of a dating night -- he instructs to take the Viagra on empty stomach, avoid alcohol, and take 20 min before intercourse.  As a good patient, perhaps I should notify a date I thought we should start the night with sex, and if that goes well, move on to conversation, maybe even a subsequent dinner and bottle of wine.  Not sure how well that will fly.  My romantic life in a barely functional backwards nutshell.

I now consider myself introduced to the forum.

Welcome! I gotta say i appreciate your sense of humour. How was the xiaflex experience?

It is good to maintain a sense of humor in the face of this.  Welcome to the place no man wants to be.

I would ask him about Cialis or Levitra - different men have better luck with different drugs, but Levitra and Cialis are not as impacted by the fat in a meal as Viagra. In fact, Cialis stays active for like 72 hours, regardless of what you eat. You shouldn't feel married to Viagra - it's no longer the gold standard, it was just the first on the scene.

51 yrs. old, multiple auto-immune conditions. First episode of Peyronies Disease in 2002. Recurred a couple times since. Over the years I have tried Topical Verapamil, Iontophoresis, all the supps and Cialis + Pentoxifylline. Still functional, always worried.

Pfract- thank you.  First injection did suck. A mix of mentally winding myself up about it.  Some definite pain - though certainly manageable, and dr having trouble with needle running into calcification.  That said, tomorrow's injection will be easier as I know what to expect and that it is manageable.  I'm experiencing fairly minor swelling relative to other postings I've seen.

Kuaka -- thanks, the humor gets me thru.... All true though.  Man, the sneaky ways I need to take the pill when I make a mid-date call on whether I'm in that 3 hour window of it going down.

Nemo -- that is a great suggestion. Thanks!  Will discuss with Dr tomorrow.
