Pentox Once Per Day

Hey guys,

My urologist reluctantly prescribed me Pentox at my request, but it looks like he only prescribed me with 400 mg once per day in 90 tablet releases with 4 refills.

Not sure what to do as if I took more than prescribed, there would be a few raised eyebrows.

I'm in Canada btw.  Will 400 mg once per day do anything for me?

Not much. 2 per day better, 3 per day is the usual dosage.
You should take some documents from the library to your next appointment.

Hmm...maybe I'll pop them twice a day for now.  That will get me to my next appointment which is 6 months away

Things are seriously so restrictive here with our medical system.  It really sucks

I think that 6 months on 2*400 mg Pentox per day will show some results so your doctor will prescribe you further.
Proposing you to take 3 per day if you tolerate it, it will give you 4 months of trial and better chances to see results.
If no help from Pentox, you don't need it any case.

So I was thinking about this during the weekend when I picked up my prescriptions.  I think the pharmacy has some control over the way they dish out the meds.  If I go for a refill too soon, they may become suspicious.

I was thinking I can approach this in two ways:

1. I could do a pulse treatment of Pentox with 3 a day for one month every three months, with a 2 month lapse in Pentox treatment.
2. I could do a pulse treatment of Pentox with 2 a day for 1.5 months with a 1.5 month lapse in Pentox treatment.

In between Pentox, perhaps I could try Acetyl-L-Carnitine and just cycle these drugs.

Your thoughts?

Also, what are the long term effects of Pentox.  What it does and how it works (making red blood cells more deformable), makes me a tad nervous.  Will my red blood cells return to normal after stopping the medication?

Pentox is meant to take continuously. Try to find a way to take it continuously.
Pentox makes the blood cells flexible, not deformed, so they can penetrate the smallest veins and carry there the oxygen.
The long term side effect of Pentox is weakening the immune system.
In my case, when stopping with Pentox, my immune system come back to normal within days.

I'm seeing my family doc on Friday.  I'll bring some of the Pentox studies with me and hopefully he will supplement my uro's prescription with the additional two pills a day I need.

Just ordered a VED too.

I fought very hard with my uro to prescribe me one a day, now he is prescribing 3*400 mg daily for every Peyronies patient and explained me lately that Pentox is the first line treatment for Peyronies

Well, I convinced my doctor to try me on twice a day.  Good enough for now!

Twice a day sounds much better than one
I was still adding 2.5 mg Cialis daily if you don't have ED, 5 mg if you have.
Also VED, as this what helped me most. Just carefully, the target is not to make your penis big as possible!!!

I usually only take 2 tablets per day, except when experiencing symptoms. I still end up with 1-2 flareups per year.

I sometimes wonder if taking 3 per day consistently would eliminate the flareups altogether. I'd like to use the minimum effective dose for a drug that I'm likely to be on for life, though. I may integrate Duey's idea of "pulsing" 3 tabs for 30 days a few times per year.

Does Pentox only work after a certain window of time after getting Peyronies? Or can it be always beneficial?

Also how likely is it for my doc to give me a prescription? I am on other meds, am not sure if any of them react to Pentox.

I can say that I was on pentox for 1.5 years, and the scar tissue remained semi-soft during this period. Then I went off it for about 2 months and I am left with hardened scar tissue.
