I want to urge all men to have their testosterone levels checked. Often, we focus on pentox, VED, traction, cialis, etc. here, but don't talk much about testosterone.

Androgens, including testosterone play a critical role in maintaining penile tissue.

What spurred this post was a recent experience that I'll share with you.

First off, my Peyronie's disease symptoms began at the same time I first began experiencing low testosterone symptoms, a few years ago. I'm on testosterone replacement, and have BPH. I was tired of waking up every night to urinate, so I began taking swedish flower pollen extract about 2 weeks ago to help with the BPH. I had used an herbal extract blend successfully in the past, but am afraid of using 5-AR inhibiting drugs/supplements, which lower the androgen DHT. So, I took a cursory glance online and didn't see much about the 5-AR effects of the swedish flower pollen.

About 5 days after beginning the pollen, I had a minor bedroom injury. It was an accidental bump. Traditionally, this kind of thing might have caused a minor flare up for a day or two. Instead, my small plaques became very inflamed and painful for the next week, I had no libido (thankfully), and I couldn't get an erection. I thought rest and an increase of my Trental dosage to 1,200mg may help, (I normally take 800mg daily as a "maintenance" dose) but clearly that wasn't working.

I was trying to figure out why I was having such an unusually bad episode, and I remembered that the pollen may be a 5-AR inhibitor. I dug further into the research and found that the pollen can be quite potent at lowering DHT, the most powerful androgen in the body. I ceased taking the flower pollen immediately. I had some proviron lying around, which is basically oral DHT, so I popped 4 pills, or 100mg, which is quite a hefty dose. By the end of the day, the pain had been reduced in my penis, and I was getting some erectile function back.

The next day, that hefty dose really kicked in. I was getting random erections throughout the day at full capacity. My libido went through the roof. I basically felt like I was 16 again. Pain actually increased a bit, as I think all those erections irritated the inflamed tissue. I took another 50mg of proviron. Today, my inflammation has decreased greatly and I'm almost pain-free. Libido and erectile function has normalized.

We are advising on the forum to check testosterone levels as many believe here that low testosterone can be culprit for Peyronies and ED. Unfortunately, like everything with Peyronies and ED, what is right for one is not an indication that is right for all.
An other problem is that the range of the "good" testosterone levels are very big and many doctors don't want to do nothing if it is in the rage.
My testosterone is 698 that is very for the age of 67+, have high libido, but not helping with ED.
Have many articles on the web regarding Proviron, the bottom line is:
* Proviron is a Steroid
* In the late 70s and early 80s, it was used with some success in controlled studies of men suffering from various forms of depression.
* ....by bodybuilders to be maintaining libido off-cycle and also relatively and temporarily improving vascularity.
The above is from Wiki as all the other thing I found are commercial sites.
