Hey everyone. I would like to tell me story and share with you guys a treatment i have found that has been very effective for me personally. Skip this paragraph if you are just interested in the treatment. I am 20 years old and I developed my condition about 6 months ago. I think it was originally due to a traumatic sexual event but I also masterbated waay too much so idk. I developed an indention in the middle or the right side of my shaft. I found this forum while researching my condition and started out on all the basic supplements you guys suggest, coq10, l-arginine, acetyl l carnitine. I eventually got to a urologist that prescribed me pentox but i soon  realized it was having a severe negative reaction with my joints. I had to have shoulder surgery and the side effects of pentox were just not worth it being that it decreases collagen synthesis and was causing me significant joint pain. I got nitroglycerin patches prescribed as an alternative treatment to help heal my torn rotator cuff which i had surgery for. (There is pretty decent evidence for Nitroglycerin Patches helping to heal tendons) I had sort of lightbulb moment and decided to put it on my indention. No joke within 10 minutes of putting it on the indention popped out and my penis bent the other way. This was only a temporary effect as it did not last when i took the patch off. When i do have a patch on my penis looks very full, similar to the effect some have while on pentox. Since then, consistent use has seemed to produce more long lasting results. I am not cured and am still on my journey, however i really believe this information as the potential to help other peyronies sufferers.

Nitroglycerin  Patches: I have found that using NG patches directly on my penis produces amazing results for me in terms of my peyronies diseases. There are many supplements and different modalities discussed on this site that are effectively trying to dilate the blood vessels and increase the nitric oxide content at the site of the scar tissue/ wound. The problem is that most of the treatments, such as L-arginine are more systemic rather than specific. By applying the NG patch (or gel i guess?) directly to the site of the scare tissue, the effects of dilation, increased blood flow, etc are dramatically increased at the actual site of deformity where we need it. I have no other evidence other than my own personal story so there really is no proof. Please anybody who reads this go out and try this and tell us your results with this treatment!

Btw there are side effects such as headeaches when you first start using them. It also can make you really dizzy because of the drop in blood pressure. But F^@% that its totally worth it.

kuaka

Where did you get the NG patches?  Name brand?

wonderbread1662

I would also be interested in knowing the answer to Kuaka's question. Thanks for sharing your story as well. Also can you keep us updated on this treatment of yours? Because that would be a huge help. Positive or negative results help all of us to know on what works and what doesn't.

Unfortunately they are prescription. I am using the .1 miligram dose patches with good results. I am very fortunate because my dad is a physician and he prescribed them for me. Generally they are prescribed for lack of blood flow in the heart, although some doctors  will prescribe it for chronic tendinitis issues. It pretty much is a vasodilator and increases nitric oxide locally. An open minded peyronies specialist or sports medicine doc would prescribe it for you because it makes a lot of sense biologically if you understand both peyronies and NG patches. Sorry, I realize that availability is the big downside to this modality. hope this helps :)

kuaka

Would still like to know a brand.  I might be able to talk my GP into it...he usually just prescribes what I ask for, since I do all of his work for him.

aworriedguy

The brand name is Alvogen

You guys be EXTREMELY careful if you pursue this - the PDE5 drugs like Viagra, etc., are specifically forbidden when someone is on nitro heart meds, so you'd need to find out about the systemic absorption from a patch.  I don't know anything about it, but if you're going to try this, you absolutely must understand what you're doing.

kuaka

Absolutely.  What I'm interested in this patch for is localized effect rather than an oral nitric oxide supplement like nutrilene.  That one gave me a headache, just like Viagra.

aworriedguy

Thanks Nemo for bringing that up. These patches will lower your blood pressure. If you are on medications  or supplements that do this as well please be careful. You are more likely to get dizzy/ pass out while on these. Also they will almost certainly cause headaches the first couple times you use them. These side effects will decrease significantly after he first few times you use them.

nemo

That's a clear indication it's going system-wide then, which could be, I suspect, of GRAVE consequences for someone on Viagra, Levitra, Cialis.  Before anyone even thinks of trying this, I'd strongly suggest they talk to their doctor (I know we often have ways of getting "things" through other channels, but this is a case where you could kill yourself if you're not careful.)

The effects do go system wide as you said. However, the effects at the site of the patch application are most pronounced because that is where the medicine is entering the body.

Hey All:

Just want to add my 2 cents worth of information about nitro glyceriin patches and their usage. I have been a heart patient now for over 15 years. I take several meds for that condion which if taken with other meds without knowing their effects and/or side effects can be ''deadly'' meaning DEATH! Every so often I have a flare up of my heart disease and must take nitro patches in the ER, so I always have a list of my meds that I take with me and the doctors see them before treating me in the ER.

So, I have to very careful which ''new meds'' that doctors RX for me. Each and every new PX must be compatible with my heart meds or I suffer severe consequences.

So, consider this post as a warning to those members choosing to use nitro patches on any part of their bodies for whatever reason. Even on their penises can cause severe effects for other parts of their bodies if they are taking meds that are not compatible, etc.

Could you explain what you mean by "the indention popped out in ten minutes". And what were you doing, for how long, with what, to cause this to happen?
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Skunkworks,

I'm sorry for not being clear. I havent tried the patches. I just read the thread which says that the poster applied a patch and his indention popped out very shortly after. My post is simply a request for more info and results after further use of the patches.

I would like more info on this too. Just a quick read on side effects: Same as mentioned above with potential headaches and medication interactions. Also, some sources claim that using nitroglycerin patches for too long can cause a physical dependence on the patches as the body will stop producing nitric oxide. I couldnt find how long the dependency takes to occur, but something to keep in mind. This is similar to incorrectly cycling anabolics and your body stopping its own testosterone production as a result.

Stills seems like it has some promise though.

popopo

Sounds promising.. I hope more people will try this or more docs will research it. I would try it myself but I'll be in rehab for weed for the next weeks. If there is more positive news about this I'll probably try it once I'm back.

Just don't mix with pde5s, even if you're using a patch.

I really really think it's unlikely that it will result in anything other than a hard erection and maybe some unnecessary side effects so he very carefull.

Ya I doubt these things are meant for long term use. And obviously nothing will cure us in only a few treatments. Which means these probably arent for us because of all of the side effects listed from long term use.

I would still try it once or twice just for the hell of it. Who knows.

popopo

True.. it's crazy how I'm willing to try just about anything to make this crap go away. Me being 21 and severly depressed, it's up to the doctors to decide if I'll ever be happy again. It only depends on one difference.. "having a dick or not having a dick". No amount of teraphy is going to compensate for their unwillingness to really cure me.

Im right there with you popo. Im 26 and I have had this since I was 23. I got sick of the mainstream doctors so ya, I sometimes feel like I am willing to try anything. Im even considering an implant down the road.

Postoperative management of Dupuytren's disease with topical nitroglycerin

"
Abstract

Dupuytren's contracture remains a significant clinical challenge due to associated complications and a recurrence rate of up to 60%. Commonly, the operated skin tends to rebuild scar in the area of surgery. Assuming local ischemia as an etiological factor, two cases in which topical nitroglycerin was used following surgical treatment of Dupuytren's disease are presented. In these patients, no raised scar formation developed during healing. At least six months after surgery, disease recurrence was not noted and the patients and surgeon reported improved skin quality. In the present study, the use of topical nitroglycerin, a local vasodilator, appeared to prevent recurrent scar formation, possibly through prevention of local ischemia. Further study and follow-up is necessary.

Could make sense if done right time right condition. Maybe in the active inflammatory phase or during treatments. But have to HIGHLY cautious with dosing.
