Hello,

I hope this post is under the right category, if not, let me know James.

I am anxious about a lump on the left underside of my penis, just below the head, becoming a plaque. Is there any way to prevent calcification?

I have had 4 sessions of verapamil with iontophoresis last week. I take 12g of POTABA, 1200mg of PENTOX, 500mg of vitamin E, 120mg pycnogenol, 1.5g ALCAR, 1.2g CoQ10 and 25 mg of Sildenafil Sandoz daily. I also try to consume chunks of ginger during the day. I started magnesium pidolate in the morning and night to prevent accumulation of calcium. Should I go for magnesium chloride instead? At times I massage the area very lightly to soften it.

Do you have any other recommendations for blocking the calcification process? That is food/supplements to avoid/consume? Do you think that avoiding foods that contain a lot of calcium (dairy etc) will help? Some other practice that you know it might help?

Thanks

My 3 remarks, expressing my opinion are:
* The meds/supplements you are taking are a lot already. Vitamin E will not harm, but will not help also with Peyronies.
* Potaba don't have too many evidences and reports on the forum that helped.
* You may want to change the 25 mg Sidenafil/Viagra with 5 mg Cialis, as have some evidence that in conjunction with Pentox helping in softening the plaques.

Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

You could add Vit. K2 to your mix.   It is know to help direct calcium to the bones and not soft tissue.
Good Luck

I have started with 2,5 mg of Cialis yesterday James. The dosage was proposed by my urologist.

Goodluck would you recommend a supplement for K2 and if so in what dosage? Or should I go for food sources?

Is it meaningful to avoid foods with high concentration in calcium to prevent calcification? I have been avoiding dairy as much as possible but I have just read that gouda cheese is a good source of K2.

I did ved for nearly twenty days and saw a pretty good decrease in the size of my lump it flattened it. Goodluck

Mikes,
Always try to get it you nutrition from food vs pills.  I know it can sometimes be hard.  I like to supplement as a good insurance policy.
I use Swanson MK-7 made from Natto.   I some times use the NOW brand.   They are made from Soy, which I am not a big fan of using(that is another topic)  but the amount is relatively small.  I trust the quality is good enough and the pricing can be very reasonable.

The MK-7 form has a much longer half life in the blood than the second most popular type (MK-4).  The benefit is that you don't have to take as much.   Although K2 is a fat soluble vitamin there is no established upper range that has been found to be unsafe. At lest yet! I have seen studies where people took up to 300mcg per day and were fine.  More common doses are around 100 mcg per day.  If you can eat a fair amount of dark green veggies you may be fine on 50 mcg.

Your body needs calcium for many processes, so I would not avoid it.  You want some.  Dairy is inflammatory in general and there are other health issues related to it that most Functional Doctors or ND's advise people with health issues to avoid it or at least ingest modest amounts.

As long as you get ample amounts of K2, Vit d, and magnesium you should be fine.    Most people in the US could do well for themselves by increasing their magnesium intake.

Get your Vit D measured by blood test and supplement accordingly.  People with darker skin don't absorb it from sun light as well.  Most Functional medical doctors agree it should be at least 50.....some are now saying higher.  The range used by most labs and doctors is out dated.

In one class I took the teacher said up to 100 is safe and I have seen some commercial labs have an upper range of 100.

Goodluck.
