Hi  I noticed a curvature in my penis about ten years ago, but have no pain. Summer 2014 I felt a hard area near the base of my penis and went online for info, made an appt. at UCSF and was diagnosed with Peyronie's and given Pentox in September 2014. Dr. Smith only felt the area, he took no measurements. I notified him last week that I hadn't seen a change and he referred me to Dr. Lue, whom I will see in June. At that time I will have testing done to determine if plaque is calcified, and talk to the Dr about Xiaflex. I just took BPSFL, and some Cialis and am waiting for an erection to photograph my penis and trace it on paper for the appointment. I was ill for a long time and didn't have sex other than BJ's, but now I've met someone and I want to be intimate with full penetration; Peyronie's is precluding my doing so. I am mortified at the thought of injections into the plaque, and am certainly NOT committed to that course, but the fact that I have met someone inspires me to take action, and perhaps to be braver than I normally would be. Still, I'm very frightened by that course of action. I'm continuing with the Pentox, and try to masturbate often as comfortable in order to get blood flow to the area; ED meds have nasty side effects.  I am considering a VED, but I read that curvature may preclude my using one. I am grateful for the support and information at this site; it gives me strength and courage. I admire all of you for fighting, and searching, and committing to a full life that includes intimacy; you are my comrades, and i don't feel so alone. Thanks for reading and hopefully we can all get to a cure together.

First, Dr. Lue  is one of the Peyronies leading specialists, so you are in good hands.
Regarding your statement:
QuotePeyronie's is precluding my doing so.
My question is why? You didn't write in your post, do you have ED? The curvature is too severe?

Hi James   Yes, I do have ED, and the curvature - which bends my penis upwards to an approx. 70-degree angle but only slightly to the left - seems vulnerable to fracturing. I just want to consult with the Dr. first to see if it's okay to penetrate without a high degree of fracture; I'm being very cautious. The ED is strange in that I can be genitally aroused and sometimes masturbate without meds with a cock-ring, but the erection is not hard enough for penetration. I tried to measure the degree of angle yesterday but didn't get hard enough - even with Cialis - to do so. When I am able to do so I will photograph and trace the angle on paper to get a more definitive measurement, and may download a protractor as well. It just seems to me that because the (to me severe) curvature and girth of my penis might cause enough pressure to cause more damage. I'll ask Dr. Lue about that when I see him. But it's also been so long since I've had sex that I am anxious about it, and being self-conscious and anxious is not conducive to good sex; just trying to check all the boxes before I engage in penetration. Thank you for your response.

I understand your anxiety, and I know it is not helping with the ED.
Did you try different ED drugs?
Cialis makes me sweat a lot, back pain, dizziness but no erection.
With Viagra I can get a good erection.

William,

I'm pretty new here myself, and fairly new to the whole Peyronies thing as well.  I had porn induced ED for a few years, and went through a program to rid myself of that habit successfully last year.  With the return of morning wood, I noticed the upward curvature.  I was getting erections enough before to know that it didn't actually occur until I abstained from masturbation completely as part of the porn recovery.

I have built a pair of VED cylinders and supply the vacuum myself (orally) until I get a brake bleeder pump which I plan on doing this week when funds are available.  My curvature is about 45 degrees, and somewhat closer to the head than the base...pretty much "classic" Peyronies if there is such a thing.  I have engaged in penetration intercourse once since discovering my Peyronies, and it was barely doable.  Before I ever found this site, I built a traction device and began using it.

I have used Viagra in the past, but the side effects of headache and stuffed sinuses are not acceptable.  I may try Cialis to see if it works better.  ED is secondary as far as I'm concerned for me, as I can actually get hard enough to use...just not nearly as often as I would like.  My wife doesn't do the "head" thing, so that's out.

The use of the VED is probably NOT precluded by the bend.  In fact, the intent of VED therapy is to reshape the penis.  I've only had my homemade cylinders together for a day, and have used them twice, but I believe I can see that they are going to work.  Find the posts by "Old Man" concerning VED and you may be more encouraged.

Good luck.

I am cross-eyed from researching VED's and this site's info! Beautiful Sunday in S.F. and I have spent it in my bedroom (alone) and online, but the result is I am much more informed and at ease, and confident that I am on the right part of the path.
I've purchased a VED at 82% off (retails at $399 and I got it for $70.90!!); it is VERY similar to the one that you brought to my attention WILLIAM, and thank you for your support.
Cialis side-effects are less severe than Viagra, for me, but it doesn't work as well, either. They both affect my asthma, and sinuses, especially viagra which also gives me monster headaches, backaches and throbbing eyeballs ( What we'll suffer through in order to have a hard erection!). I think the VED will be better in so many ways for me; I'm hoping so. Levitra worked best for me, but it is prohibitively expensive.
I've been so encouraged by another poster who also has access to Dr Lue, CAL, and he has lessened my anxiety immensely, and I'm not exaggerating; I was freaked.
I'm doubling my Pentox dosage of 400mg 3x daily, slowly, and will be using the VED about six weeks before I meet with Dr Lue, with measurements, photo's, tracings etc in hand; It's so much easier to be an informed patient.
Thanks for introducing yourself Kuaka, I'm curious to learn how your homemade devices work out for you.
Thank you James and WILLIAM (he goes by another name here, but I like calling him WILLIAM, a name we share - it really is my name).
I am encouraged by all of your successes, and am so grateful to have you and this site for support.

I had also very bad side effects from Viagra.
What solved the problem is that for a long time I was taking daily Viagra before bad, cutting the 100 mg pill in 6, not easy task but possible so 16.67 mg after than in 5 to get 20 mg. Now for intercourse I am using 25 mg (100/4) or 50 mg (100/2).
In November last year I had a prostate surgery, asked for Viagra prescription and I got in Europe in a pharmacy "Sidenafil Teva 100 mg". I take already also 100 mg to see how it works, had no any side effects!!! Also the 100/4 and 100/2 worked very well, same as Viagra.

Interesting.  I was splitting 100mg pills of viagra into 4 parts to approximate 25mg, since that's all I "needed".  Still had the headache and stuffy nose.  When it made my vision blurry, I dropped it.  I may look into Cialis though.  I could probably get my GP to write a scrip for that.  I haven't even told him about the PDS yet, as I really don't think he'll have a clue what to do about it.  I'm fortunate he'll write my pain meds.  I also take a BP med...lisinopril...and a muscle relaxant...flexoral.  I have diclofenac too, but only take it when my knees hurt from weather change.  If they hurt from allergic reaction to smog, it is benadryl which helps...but then I need a sudafed so I don't fall asleep.  Of course the sudafed is not good for my blood pressure.  Then there's the pain meds...MS Contin and Fiorinal-3.  Yeah, I'm a mess.  The same old injury that bruised my dick did a lot of other damage too, and it has come back around to haunt me as well.  People say I'm lucky to be alive.  Sometimes I wonder.

If you read my post Kuaka, you can see that I started with less than 17 gram daily Viagra, in the night, before going to bad.
Same now with the 5 mg Cialis, 4 mg at start.
It takes time to the body to get used to, but after some 2 months daily the symptoms gone.
The reason to take it before bad is while you are sleeping, doesn't matters that your vision is blurred and you will not feel light headache. You will not make an accident also if you are not sleeping while driving :)

When the Viagra started to mess with my eye sight, I dropped it. I could not afford to "get used" to that.
