Home Made VED cylinders...

Yep, me again.  The cheapskate.  Not only have built a home made traction device, which I did even before coming to this group, I have also built home made VED cylinders.  I have made two for now.  The small one is 1 1/2" ID semi-rigid vinyl tubing.  This one is almost too small, but will work for the first phase of my VED therapy.  I have also made one with the 2" ID tubing for the larger cylinder therapy.  I am currently using myself as the vacuum source, but will be purchasing a brake bleeder vacuum pump sometime later this week.  I have used such a pump before to milk goats, and it can pull plenty of vacuum and has a gauge.  The seal on my home made cylinders is not complete, as I have not glued the pvc fittings together yet.  It is adequate though, so I just might not glue the thing together.  First test use was last night, after I built the smaller unit.  Assembled the larger unit this morning and gave both a try.  I think this, coupled with my home made traction therapy device, will have as good of a chance of straightening me up as anything.  So far, I'm out a total of $50 for both devices, with the VED cylinders being by far the most expensive.  I actually purchased reducing plumbing fittings rather than a cap and attempting to seal a fitting to it myself.  This and the vinyl tubing pieces made it $42 so far.  I will post pics later, and obviously be charting my progress and use of both of these devices.

kuaka

Here we go.  So far, just the two.  I'll see what sort of results I get from them before I attempt a third...it may not be necessary.  Based on what I've seen just this morning, I think I'm on the right track.

James:

We have been communicating about this via PMs. Looks like he knows what he is doing and on to a viable way for members to make their own VEDs. It would require making one, two or three of these based on what a member would like to do for their VED therapy.

We already have a protocol for using three separate ''home made'' VEDs. If a member makes three different cylinders like the one kuaka has made each can be ''powered'' by any kind of good grade vacuum pump. The cost of making ones own VED will be much less than purchasing one as well.

Thanks for giving your opinion Old Man :)
As VED's are very expensive (some) it may be a very good solution.

I will post an update here and on the thread about my home made traction device once I get a feel for results.  The "medium" cylinder is the one that I might not be able to build, as I don't see any suitable tubing with a 1 3/4 ID.  I might have to use a non-see through pipe, which would make that stage of the process somewhat "blind"...but I would hope that after using the see through cylinders a few times I would have a "feel" for what it is doing.

kuaka

So far, so good.  I believe the combination of my traction device and these VED cylinders have already started to improve my situation.  The addition of injected DEPO-Testosterone has also contributed, and I'm not finished yet in putting together my whole treatment package.  Next on my list is creating a medium cylinder and adding some nutritional supplements.

I believe I can create a middle cylinder by layering some laminating sheets of clear plastic into a tube to insert into my large cylinder.  I'll try that tonight and post results.  I figure 1/8 thick (two or three sheets?) will provide a 1 3/4" size, halfway between the 1 1/2" small and 2" large ones.  So far, using my own suction as a vacuum source seems viable.  I'm quite capable of creating enough vacuum to cause discomfort, which is more than adequate vacuum.  It's not like I am in the presence of company and need to carry on a conversation during treatment anyway.  The cylinders seem to hold the vacuum reasonably well.  The advantage with using myself as vacuum source with the small cylinder is that when I am engorged and the fit is tight, I can supply pressure to release easily.

Scotchmagic

This seems really interesting. Are you buying the parts from a store that has an online shop? IF so, could you specify which part numbers you have used?

kuaka

These are Home Depot plumbing parts...the laminating plastic will be Walmart.  The semi rigid vinyl piping is same outside diameter as pvc pipe, so fittings are available...I have no idea of part numbers.

kuaka

Couldn't find a suitable plastic sheeting to just "wrap" an insert for the large cylinder (2" ID) to get to medium size (1 3/4" ID), so I purchased a short (2') length of 2" OD PVC.  This pipe is much thinner walled than the 2" OD vinyl (1 1/2" ID) I used for the small cylinder, but will fit the same fittings otherwise.  I haven't measured, but the ID is going to be close to 1 3/4".  The wall is thin and leaves a sharp edge, so I've cut a length of rubber tubing to pad the end with it.  I've siliconed it on and wrapped that with a plastic bag and some tape to cure before cutting the pipe to a suitable length and trying it out.  This will be the "medium" cylinder of the set of three for my home made VED setup.  That phase will be "blind" in that I won't be able to see it while in use since the tubing isn't clear, but with the large and small cylinders, I have learned what it should "feel" like.

Results so far in combining my home made traction device and my home made VED cylinders seem to be positive, but its only a week or so into it.  The irregular bumps and dimples characteristic of PDS which were present on the top at the bend are no longer there.  They dissipated after only a day or two of using the traction device, which all happened a week or two before I found this forum.

Last night, while doing my therapy, I attained and sustained a strong erection with very little discomfort...I would scarcely call it pain at all.  The bend appeared to be a couple of degrees less than before...first estimate was 45 degrees...looking closer to 40 now.  Those measures are really imprecise.  I will take a more precise measure tonight and see what it really is.

Nevertheless, if I can get an erection like I had last night when I'm with my wife, I believe I can actually use it for actual intercourse, as long as I'm careful.  The bend is still enough to be troublesome if I'm not careful.

Here's hoping.

kuaka

Added an automotive brake bleeder vacuum pump to the mix over the weekend.

Tried it out last night.  Works like a charm.  Now to just keep at the treatment protocol for while.  Moving to the medium cylinder once I cut it to length (the pipe is two foot, and NOBODY needs that much. Besides, it is unwieldy at that length.)

Difficulty getting motivation right now.  My daughter is dying, so on top of being deaf, blind, crippled and impotent with Peyronies Disease, I now get to feel the avalanche of regrets about my poor parenting over the last 27 years.  A recent movie has my new favorite one line of advice.  "There's no present like the time."  Wasted time is my biggest regret.  Don't waste time.  Spend it with loved ones.  Tomorrow is too late.  Each of us only gets so many days, and no matter what we want, when they're done, they're done.

While Peyronies Disease is extremely disruptive of our most intimate relationships, there are many relationships each of us have outside of that realm.  These are equally if not more important in the long run.

joben

Kuaka,

Great job!  You are very inventive!  Do you have any idea how to make a curved cylinder?

Old Man

joben:

Question: What need would you have for a curved cylinder? If you have a curve/bend in your dick, you need a straight cylinder to help straighten, wouldn't you think?

kuaka

I agree with Old Man...

Since the basic problem with Peyronies Disease is "curve", straightening the curve is the objective.  Even with straight cylinders, some curve will likely remain...most even healthy penises have some curve to them.

joben

I used a VED occasionally even before Peyronies Disease started.  My penis has always had a very slight upward curve and when pumping the glans would get smashed against the cylinder.  I always thought that a slightly curved tube that matched the natural curve of the penis would allow for greater expansion.  Now, with Peyronies Disease, my curve is more and that only exacerbates the problem. In the tube it looks like my glans is getting stepped on.

Old Man

Joben:

Try using only very mild vacuum pressures to see your glans will tolerate the lessor pressure. Some guys that I have worked with over the past 10 years (almost) have had better luck with VED therapy by using less vacuum.

The higher vacuum pressure certainly will press your glans up into the cylinder wall and will over time cause more trauma to your dick. So, experiment with varying amounts of vacuum pressure with less overall time of each pump up session.

This will certainly make your overall therapy time longer, but could possibly help with the symptoms.

So far, with the use of my home made VED and traction devices, I appear to have gotten some positive results.  I finally got around to measuring the angle of a pic I took a while back...it is pretty straightforward to erase background and overlay a transparent image of a protractor with the GIMP graphics editing program on Linux...

My early guess was 45, with improvement to about 40.  My measure from a pic from three days ago is 40, so I'm presuming my initial estimation was pretty close too.  Since I didn't really get a good measure initially, I will have to see if continued treatments continue to improve before I am 100% confident in my initial evaluation...but I'm usually spot on on my "best guesses"...

While I am doing both VED and traction, my use of traction is minimal, as my home made device is not comfortable enough to wear for the requisite 2+hours.  I credit most of my progress to VED and the supplements.

Old Man:

What, in your opinion, is a good pressure?  I typically go to about 5.

gayguy

I like playing around and being inventive and thought reading these messages would it be interesting to make a VED tube with a bend in the opposite direction of the curve in my penis?

kuaka

I think the key is to stretch the plaque gradually so as to not stimulate additional scarring.

dapaham

One thing joben mentioned sparked a question in my mind.
If your dick comes in contact with one side of the vacuum cylinder, is the vacuum reduced in that contact area?
For an example, say your dick bends to the left, would it be a good idea to allow the right side of your dick to come into contact with the glass, and if by doing this would it speed up development of the left side of your dick?

james1947

dapaham

Physics are saying that the pressure/vacuum in a closed chamber (VED in our case) is equal everywhere in side.

dapaham

Yes James,
You are correct. But consider a suction cup applied to a window. In this case the only thing keeping the cup attached to the window is atmospheric pressure being greater than the vacuum pressure inside the cup. When the skin of your penis is on the glass of a vacuum cylinder there can be no vacuum applied, simply because there is no air pressure (vacuum pressure) between your dick and the glass?

kuaka

dapaham,

yes, if the cylinder is not of large enough diameter, contact with the sides will render vacuum inequalities over the surface of the penis.  That is why a good VED protocol involves different sized cylinders.  The "snug" one is to straighten/shape.  The "loose" one(s) ... "free willy?" ... are to engorge the entire penis.

kuaka

Haha...I see my name for the larger cylinder is catching on..."Free Willy"...

Since using the VED I have found that overall erection is possible and often enough (mostly daily...sometimes more than once in a day) that I'm not too concerned about the "Free Willy" size...  :)

I've just added a mechanical assistance however.  When I am at home, I can and will now...now that I have verified it works as expected...use my electric, automated, pulsed vacuum pump a time or two a day.  It saves on my hand working the brake bleeder manual vacuum pump.  This will allow me to do a VED session multiple times in a day, which I believe will be more effective.

I am building a dairy goat farm, and have an antique vacuum pump which pulls about 10 inches of vacuum.  I also have a milking "Surger".  It is a series of adjustable slider valves which pulse vacuum on a small line to control the fitting which fits on the nipple of the animal's udder.  It alternates "free willy" vacuum with a physical squeezing to synthesize a nursing kid.  Plugging all other lines but one surger line, and hooking it to my small size VED cylinder seems to be effective.  I can adjust how rapidly it surges.  It pulls up vacuum, relaxes, repeats...rapidly or slowly.  A few minutes of this and I can feel it pulling on the plaque.

Hi just joined this forum thingy.

Have purchased a bathmate and started sessions. After use the old fella seems straighter, but goes back to former self on erection.  Has antone had experience with Bathmate.
