Hi Guys,

I am a week away from receiving an incision and grafting surgery from Dr Kuehhas and Dr Djakovic at London Andrology Institute.

I am starting this thread to document my process for other members.

I have been suffering from Peyronie's a little bit over two years now and was contemplating Xiaflex treatment and was waiting for it. However, given the very high cost and uncertain outcome although am a candidate.

Eventually I decided to have the operation and I was adviced that the Nesbit would result to even more length loss and that grafting and incision based on Egydio technique would give me best option.

My initial curvature properly measured by the doctors was 45 degrees and length loss around 0.8in..

I will be updating further after Sunday.

They will perform a Nesbit? I do not understand. Anyway, you are in the best hands you could find..
31 yrs old
Severe congenital curvature. 3 straightening surgeries
Big lump/stitch w/ left deviation after 2012 surgery
Severe ED after last one in 2014. Still crooked
Slightly improved w/ shockwave therapy
Looks like only one side of my penis works

Hi Jack,

I am not having Nesbit, but the Egydio technique, which is elongating the short side by incising the Peyronie's plaque and putting a graft.

from other posts I understand you got surgery from Kuehhas and Djakovic in London?

How was the whole experience and follow up?

Cheers

Jack1909

Ok,
that sounds very good. Nesbit can be very invasive, glad to hear it.
Yeah, I had a STAGE performed by Kuehhas. My condition was a mess (practically a kind of Peyronie provoked by a killer surgery undergone to fix a congenital curvature) but I found the best one surgeon in Europe. Kuehhas is very skillful and very kind, you can harass him with all your doubts for months (We have sent each other more than 50 mails). You will not feel abandoned at all. The clinic smells of excellence. Everything was good.

Hi All,

I just had my incision and grafting surgery yesterday. I also got pictures during the operation (can I post them here????). Judging from these it seems that the curvature is gone. One bovine graft was used and the operating time was 90min.

I am having a follow up consultation at 3pm today and hopefully I will hear some good news.

Regarding recovery, they escorted me yesterday back to my accommodation and ha d a good dinner. There is some pain but nothing unbearable. Only problem is I urinated yesterday and wetted the dressing so I was worried about that but the doctors said its no problem.

I will be updating about my progress in the next few days.

Happy to answer any questions that other members might have.

Good news your surgery appears to have gone well, Sunseeker. I hope it all works out for you as you hope.

I had similar surgery.. incision and grafting.. at UCLH 2 months ago and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I had almost a 90 degree bend and they said it was quite a difficult procedure.. took over 3 hours, but I'm back now and my old fella is straight again after nearly a decade of Peyronies Disease. I get good erections, and they're improving all the time. In short, I'm over the moon about it.

I would say to anybody considering this type of surgery... if you meet all the criteria and have confidence in your surgeon,  go for it.

Congratulations. .. :)
pls inform the total  cost of the operation in detail (if possible). And email address  of the doctor  to proceed wd my case also.
Thanks

Hi J-A

I had excision and graft surgery at UCLH in London in March. I don't know who actually performed the surgery, but the whole procedure was I believe overseen by Mr. David Ralph, one of the UK's top urologists.
I had previously been offered a Nesbit procedure but declined, mainly due to potential loss of length, but also because the idea of damaging the undamaged part of the penis while leaving the damaged part untouched seemed slightly absurd to me. I wanted no part of it.
So when I was offered the e&g I jumped at the chance. I was pleased to be told prior to the op. that the blood flow to my penis was equivalent to that of a man of 30 (i'm 61).. This was one of the tests I had to undergo to prove I was suitable for the procedure. Another was degree of curvature. In my case this was 80-90 degrees.
The operation lasted about 4-5 hours.. longer than usual they said, because  the degree of curvature made it quite a tricky undertaking. When I came round my poor old mate was all bandaged up, but no catheter.  I was told I'd been circumcised, which I ws a bit disappointed by because they'd said it probably wouldn't be necessary. As it's turned out it's ok. It takes several weeks to get used to the extra sensitivity of the exposed glans, and also the glans itself loses a bit of sensitivity over time, but still has plenty when stimulated.
As for pain, I can't remember being in a lot to be honest. I was on some fairly heavy duty painkillers for the first 2 or 3 days, but after that just parcetamol was sufficient.  I was kept in overnight and discharged within 24 hours, penis heavily bandaged. I also had to take Viagra nightly for 6 weeks after the op. to stimulate extra blood flow, thereby helping the healing process and also reducing the chances of shrinkage of the graft and increasing the chances of ending up with a nice straight member.
The heavy bandage stayed on for 10 days during which time I had to keep it dry, then they remove it and replace it with a lighter flexible bandage which you can replace yourself. After 6 weeks they take a final look and if everything is ok.. no infections etc. you're in the clear.
What I feared most of all from this procedure was a). numbness - through nerve damage - and b). erectile dysfunction, through damage to the integrity of the corpus Cavernosum. There is a small risk that this might occur, but if you have a skilled surgical team I'd suggest it's minimal. Thankfully neither of these happened in my case.
My penis is now straight and fully functional. There is some loss of length, probably about an inch or maybe a bit less, but I can deal with that.  Prior to the operation I'd had Peyronies for 10 years, and frankly I felt immasculated by this disease. I have been given back my masculinity, and I feel both extremely lucky and extremely grateful in equal measure.

All I can say J-A is I wish you all the very best. In my opinion you have very little to fear from his operation, and everything to gain. Please be sure to let us know how you get on.

J-A and aazmaish - I posted my experience in a separate post, in part to respond to your questions, and of course for the benefit of all on the forum. Just wondering if you had a chance to see it, and if it was helpful at all. I have to chime in and post an update on how things are going now - which is fine in a nutshell. Will do soon.
