Endostim Therapy

Dr Morganstern calls it "Endostim Therapy" but it's also called "Carbon Dioxide/Carboxy Therapy" (I remember reading about it on this forum before starting treatment but can't find it just now).  The treatment involves injecting CO2 into the penis to stimulate the body to repair that area.  For one treatment, my penis gets injected in 4 different locations, it feels uncomfortable but not painful (one location hurts more than the others where I was told it's hitting plaque), my penis swells slightly and I feel it in my lungs afterwards as the CO2 is eliminated.  My groin also feels slightly sore the next day.

He also did low level shockwave treatments prior to Endostim.  I would classify both these treatments as being low risk w/a chance of reward (my gut feeling is the Endostim has a greater effect).  Dr Morganstern also treats w/Xiaflex but said I'm not a good candidate as my plaques are close the Urethra.   The shockwave treatments weren't covered by insurance but the Endostim is.

Thanks James, both for splitting off the topic and the well wishes.

I've now gone through 12 Endostim treatments and am scheduled to do six more.  Since they're covered by insurance, my only costs are time and a small copay.  Dr Morganstern's approach to ED/Peyronies (BTW, he thinks they're primarily the same issues) is to try the least invasive procedures first and then continue up the ladder to the more powerful options (like Xiaflex).  He used to do surgery himself, but now refers patients to Dr Milam at Vanderbilt.

Having tried multiple treatments (all from this forum) in the four and half years since diagnosis, those that have benefited me the most (VED, traction, Cialis, Endostim, supplements?, improved diet and lifestyle) have all come painfully slow.  Thankfully, I'm in better shape today (both physically and psychologically) and am optimistic for the future.  Will keep you posted.

Thanks Ray-Zee for sharing your experience. I am glad to see that you've had good results with Endostim. Without this forum and members posting about what they tried and how it worked, it would be a crap shoot. It still seems like one sometimes  :)
I was encouraged to see it was covered by insurance, which means to me that even the insurance companies consider it a legit treatment for Peyronies.

I think Dr Morganstern may have a point. Whist E.D, low testosterone, may not be the only causes of the disease, I'm convinced there's a link. In my view, anything that improves blood flow into the penis will be beneficial and can set you on a path to major improvement.

Maybe not the greatest analogy, but a lazy unused dick, like a lazy unused body, can quickly become sick.

So back to the "Use it or Lose it" Jonbinspain?
I agree with this one, use it as much as I can ;D

Just to keep things in perspective......

The pictures are not from Peyronies patients. They are before and after pictures of patients who had phalloplasty (penis lengthening). And I would guess he has posted the 'best results' pictures and not average results pictures.

I'm not being negative towards the good doctor.... just got to keep everything in perspective.

Did endostim help with erection quality? Did it give anymore sensitivity to your penis? Is it actually breaking down the plaque?

james1947

Thanks cheeznips for opening the topic again :)

Can you give us an update ray-zee?
