Hello

I have Peyronies. By last autumn, the bend had become quite bad, bad for me at least, reaching 90 degrees. Intercourse was no longer possible. I was 18 months into the illness and had tried meds and pump and vit E  - all of which proved useless.

I had Nesbit surgery early last November and am still coming to terms with the fact that though the bend has been reduced, so has my penis, a lot. And it's not like the bend has gone away. I still get painful erections. Grr!

Anyhow,  I wrote about it here:

I'm still figuring out what's going on down there and what to do next. Life goes on. But Peyronies Disease really stinks.

Nice writing there : ) I'm damn sorry to hear about that.. I hope you can get some advice here on what to do after nesbit. Personally I would take an implant over nesbit in a severe case, would that route help you?

Did you get on pentox and all those supplements? Traction? Does anyone know how traction works after nesbit?

Renlau

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm seeing the surgeon in a few weeks and will talk through my options. I'll mention implant. I'm interested in whether traction is still an option for me. I've (belatedly) heard good things about it. Obviously, the big issue is that everybody's Peyronies Disease is different; which is partly what makes this condition so ghastly.

Yes, tried Pentox and Finesteride (sic?) pabla, VED pump. Also, established that Xiaflex wasn't an option for my condition.

Is there anywhere that you have documented further observations about your recovery? I have recently had a plication surgery and am still recovering. Recovery stories are currently what is of most interest to me. I like having someone else's progress reports to compare to myself as I recover.

Renlau

Hello

I haven't posted further observations on my recovery, yet. But I will be doing so in the next week or so.

I'm writing a blog as of start of last month as a new year thing to make some sense of big life changes I've recently experience, Peyronies Disease, break-up of long term relationship, moving home...etc I just had all these thoughts rolling around in my head driving me nuts.

So, I'm writing and posting in the order that feels right to me. All these different issues are tangled up, you see.

So, can I suggest that you follow my blog to be notified when new posts are published?

Or, email me if you like and I'll make a note to email you back when a new Peyronies Disease post goes up.

In brief, I had surgery and it hurt. And although it helped, it was not nearly enough in my opinion and I find myself feeling a bit disappointed and wondering, what next?

How about you?

Finasteride? It's thought to cause Peyronie's. I sure hope you didn't take it. The mechanism appears to be due to it blocking testosterone to DHT conversion. There have been lawsuits regarding this matter, and here on the forums we have members who came here after taking the drug.

Renlau

You're right. I was being stupid and mixed up my pills - fortunately I've never actually mixed up my pills in real life.

Yes, I took Finasteride before I got Peyronies Disease. I'm a bit hazy, which is a bit crap of me, but I'm pretty sure I took it for prostate matters to help being down the frequency of night time trips to the toilet. And maybe it was a contributory factor with getting Peyronies Disease.

Renlau

Hello

I linked here to my blog a few weeks ago concerning my surgery for Peyronies Disease. This is the latest on what happened after the surgery.

Hope it's of some use to people to hear how another injured party has got on.

This is the link to the earlier piece My Crooked Stick:

and a link to the whole blog, which never tires of mentioning my poor wooden stick, amongst other things...

Very interesting to read your thoughts Ren.

Good to know you have been able to move on from this setback in your life even if things are not quite the same as they were before.
