Hello,

About two months ago after intercourse I noticed pain in my penis just under the head when pulling down on both sides. The pain somewhat went away but it came back a few days ago. I've been in a very happy marriage for 15 years. I have a nodule in the middle of my shaft and I am seeing a Urologist tomorrow. I believe I am in the acute stage of Peyronie's disease. Can I expect the disease to continue to develop over the next 12 to 18 months? Is it eminent that my penis will have curvature? What can I possibly do to help this besides seeking proper medical attention? I stared Vitamin E a couple of days ago.

Thank you in advance for support and answers.

BX642,

Good on you for getting to a urologist fast. I suggest asking for a prescription for Pentox, which can be helpful in the acute stages. You can print out a study on pentox for Peyronie's found here (Pentox - Dr. Lue Case Study / Levine mentions his use of Pentox - Peyronies Society Forums), which was done by one of the best Peyronie's specialists in the US.

It's difficult to say how much curvature you will have. I had very little curvature; instead I had  pain, indentations and a little shrinkage. I was on Pentox for 8 months and it got rid of the pain very quickly. Since stopping the medication 4 years ago, I still have minor continuous improvement to the shape. I am about 90-95% of what I used to be size-wise, which is just fine.

Getting treatment fast is key. Pentox, VED and low-dose Cialis are probably the best treatments available. Vitamin E is not useful, but it won't hurt you.

I will second Skjaldborg.
The key for successful treatment of Peyronies is early treatment.
Early treatment may arrest the progression of the disease and will not be bend, hourglasses and other symptoms.
So don't lose time, and if your urologist is not putting you immediately on VED, Pentox and low dose Cialis, find an other one.
