Hi,
I've been diagnosed with Peyronies. I'm not 100% sure I have Peyronies though.
I have not had an ultrasound...my uro said there is no need...
I've got a referral from my GP for an ultrasound though. The GP knows almost nothing about Peyronies.

How can I be sure to verify the diagnosis with the help of the ultrasound?
Do I just show up for an ultrasound & say 'Please do an ultrasound for Peyronies'?
Not sure how to make sure the ultrasound collects the right information to confirm the Peyronies diagnosis.

Does anyone have any ideas on how best to approach getting the ultrasound?
I'd like to be able to take the ultrasound results and present to a Uro expert in Peyronies. I'm in Ireland,
we have a small population here, and I haven't yet been able to locate a Uro expert in Peyronies.

Thanks,

In most countries you need a referral from you uro or GP in order to have any kind of medical diagnostic tests. The reason for getting the referral is so that funding is secured from specific departments and to ensure a specialist is able to analyse and interpret the results.
If you have a very obvious case of Peyronies Disease, and you uro has no doubt as to your diagnosis, they might not believe it necessary to perform an expensive scan. As a patient you have the right to ask for a second opinion from a different urologist, for which you will need to speak with your GP for another referral.
Your other option is to go private, but it would be very expensive if you don't have medical insurance.
What are your symptoms, and why are you suspicious about the diagnosis?
