Hourglassing and xiaflex

 I am hopeful xiaflex can fix my hourglass  at base of shaft that has caused girth wastage and creates a buckling or hinge effect on intercourse . My uro has indicated that hourglassing is unfortunately not as easy to treat as plain curvature situations and there is little data out there to support if xiaflex can help or not .  He agreed to at least try and see what if any improvement can be gained but has cautioned me to perhaps there will be be no improvement at all

Any members had success with hourglassing treatment ?  I see periodic comments here and there that some members had seen some small improvement

Yes. VED eliminated 3 hourglasses I had during more than one year treatment.

Would you be ok to share how you did it and for how long? Where these permanent results or you do need to keep using VED? Did it have a possitive impact, if you did have, ED?

I'd consider pentox, low dose daily PDE5i, traction and VED.  If no help, consider excision and graft surgery.  If you have severe Erectile Dysfunction, an implant may be the way to go.

will try to get Pentox this Friday after another US and andrologist. I am on Tadalafil 5mg/day for a month. Have not yet used Traction or VED but I do manual stretching and lots of cold to prevent further inflammation.

Also hoping for revascularization as an option before thinking of implants due to the ED.

I did the complete series of xiaflex injections in 2017 and the doctor mentioned that the hour glassing would not go away.  Did not see much improvement in the curve, but the hour glassing did go away.  Took almost a year.

Thanks a lot Joe, for the reply. It is really good to hear at least some of your issues did improve. Sorry for the curve but I am sure the traction will show results. Did Xiaflex help for ED?

Hi, Did you have success with the hour glassing? I have the same problem Initially my plaque was halfway up the shaft and treated, four rounds xiaflex, by Dr Gelbard and had 85% success The new plaque is near the base and on the top with hour glassing and diminished length the symptoms  and fear of buckling. I am seeing Dr Carrion in Tampa today and see if he recommends xiaflex...

I have think xiaflex, but  i don't have sure.
