From the sounds-too-good-to-be-true category, this very small (10 individual) study found that consuming about 4 Brazil nuts once every few weeks "caused a significant decrease in serum IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α, and IFN-γ levels" [inflammatory], whereas serum levels of IL-10 [anti-inflammatory] were significantly increased".

Selenium levels in Brazil nuts are high, so one shouldn't eat very many of them. And the high fat content means that they go rancid quickly - so buy small amounts and store in the fridge. But there's no harm in eating a handful of them once a month. I've added it to my supplement list.
