Hi all,

This is my first post and am thankful to have found this website. My doctor actually told me about this 2 weeks ago after my 3rd injection and I finally wanted to get some real feedback. My condition is about 4 months old, I'm on my 4th injection (tomorrow), and I feel that it has caused more damage than I had months ago. I've been prescribed the "PDS" cocktail and have taken it religiously. I have also been prescribed Viagra, taken a testosterone level test (259), and have been "issued" a penis pump. I'm still frustrated and can't wrap my head around this. My wife is handling this much better than I, but I am struggling. My father has had a condition called "Dupuypren's Contractore" disease and it has caused his fingers to bend permanently into a fist. I've asked my doctor if these two conditions are related genetically, and he replied "possibly".

My main concern and reason for writting this is that I don't know why I have this and I feel like a lab rat when I go and get injections in my penis...the end result is always worse. I'm going to keep reading into everyone's blogs/posts and hope to find alternate treatments/diet/exercises that may decrease the pain I have.

Sorry, I forgot to follow the directions of "first post" rules...

Welcome to the forums, thanks to your doctor for guiding you here.
Dupuytren's is absolutely related to Peyronie's. The cytokine tgf-beta is the suspected cause in both disorders, and they both tend to appear on men with diabetes as well as appear together. My father also has both Peyronie's and Dupuytren's. I have argued that while Dupuytren's has been proven to be associated with alcoholism and repeated stress to the area, Peyronie's will unlikely be in such a study due to researcher's and the public's social bias.

What kind of injections did you have? Are you using traction with the injections?
What part of your penis is bending? Ventral, distal, lateral? Where is the pain?

Rikcote

Neo,

Verapamil injections have been used. I'm going to back off tomorrow's injection, it's just gotten worse over the past 1-2 months. I just received the traction device and am using it daily. Do you recommend using the device after an injection? My penis had a slight bend to the right, and then downward after the 2nd injection, but it seems to have straightened over the past 2 weeks. It just hurts like hell and the lump before the head of my penis has gotten bigger...I think due to the injections. The pain is hard to pinpoint, I'd just say it's where the plaque build up is.

Combination of penile traction, intralesional verapamil, and oral t... - PubMed - NCBI

"There was a trend toward measured curvature improvement, and a significant gain in SPL in men using the combination therapy protocol. "

Dr. Levine uses them together but I am unsure of the exact protocol, someone else may have the answer to this but some googling for more literary reviews done by Levine might be helpful.

If you're already on CoQ10, ALCAR, and pentox, for pain I'm not incredibly knowledgeable there but you could try Alpha Lipoic Acid which has been in some studies I believe with ALCAR for pain. Please feel free to create new topics on different parts of this forum, since this thread has a 10 post limit as it's an introductory post. Don't feel shy about bumping old threads on pain etc. The forum actually moves very slowly so posting can feel a bit awkward, but we really need conversations so don't hold back.

I'm a fan of Alpha Lipoic Acid. Whether it will help with pain, I'm not sure. But, it is good for your general wellbeing. It has a great synergy with ALC and used together they are a very powerful anti-oxidant.

If you're going to use it, always go for the stabilised type, called R-Alpha Lipoic Acid. It is far more bio-available.

Thanks Jonbinspain/Neo V. I'll look into it. I'm still getting used to this "posting" blog...I'll read more threads and post from there. Thanks,

What do you mean by posting blog? Forum? Just a heads up, you can reverse the thread order in your settings if it's throwing you off.
