I've heard a lot of people talk about verapamil and say they didn't like it. But I really know nothing about it. I just know what my doctor has been telling me, which is to let him find out if my insurance will cover Xiaflex treatment and if it doesnt, then plication surgery is the alternative. I've never had surgery ever in my life, and quite frankly surgery freaks me out a lot. I'm also diabetic so my healing issues are a bit compromised. I've been taking CoQ-10 for years, and I'm thinking of looking at ACL and arginine as well. I took a little vitamin E in the beginning. I'm always eating healthy because of my diabetes, and I know ingredients like cucumbers and radishes are anti-inflammatory. I'm sorry to hear about your situation, especially being alone and all. My wife and I have been together over 20 years but we've been spending a lot of time away from each other for the past year. So I feel what you're saying. It's been hard on my wife also, but she is understanding about it. Even though we're not spending time together so much right now, it's because of other reasons i.e. work and bills etc., we are still together and for that I am grateful. We love each other and we'll always love each other. She is a little surprised and uncomfortable talking about it like with my doctor and stuff, because she feels it's "guy stuff" and it would make her uncomfortable. It's good to get over any negative feelings and just think positively. I'm at the stage where I'm trying to do that. Also, I'm 39 years old and this happened to me back in April. I really thought the whole thing was temporary and would just go away, but it didn't.  I hate the fact that this happened to me now as oppose to 10 or 20 years from now when they say it's "supposed" to. My doctor mentioned to me that since I always had a little upward curve that this might be genetically related too. It has been very tough for me. But I am satisfied with the fact that I found a good doctor(whom I only found out about by reading this forum) who I seem to be able to trust with helping me fix this problem. I'm just praying that this problem can and will go away and my sex life can get back to normal. I will also do the same for you.

I forgot to mention that the Verapamil cream also containts Dexamethasone with I believe is in the mix to act as an anti-inflammatory.

@Jonbinspain,
Thanks, will try to buy Citrulline mallate.

@skunkworks,
that's also my understanding.

@Silver Fox,
Thanks for this, and hope it will get better with your wife.

Mat;

The problem, as I see it, with any topical treatment is that they cannot penetrate the dermis - the skin - to reach the target area.

You are right, that's also my understanding when reading studies etc
But since this cream has been prescribed to me by the urologist, I will continue with this until my next appointment in 2 weeks.
At that time I will ask for Pentox.

I don't understand why urologists still prescribing Verapamil cream and injections.
Maybe they are not updated with what's going on with new/not so new Peyronies treatments.

Nor do I understand those who recommend surgery as a first or even second line treatment.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

I understand why many doctors recommends first, or just surgery.
Because this is the only thing they know how to do and this what makes more money.
