Hello Guys,

I had pain on my penis after I have done a colour doppler examination for an Erectile dysfunction problem that already existed, and the pain got worst when I masturbated twice in the same night( 3 weeks after the examination-injection) without having a good erection( basically forcing myself quite strongly). Since that time I have pain in the whole side of my penis where the injection for the examination was made. The pain is radiating down and up from the point of the injection. I can also notice a really small lump and lately a curve when I am semi-erect. When the penis gets a full erection the curve goes away but the penis looks smaller that it used be. It seems that is not expanding as before and also the site of the pain feels stretched but less painful when erect rather than flaccid.

Moreover the curve is not towards the side of the pain, the curve is towards the side of the penis that there is no pain. In peyronies the curve is always towards the side of the scar tissue or inflammation, or this is not necessarily the case?

I am not sure if I am developing peyronies or not, but I am experiencing continuous uncomfortable pain for almost 2 months now, plus I have the lump and lately the curve when semi-erect. Additionally the erections have become less frequency and of worst quality(softer).

Any suggestions-recommendations for my case would be really appreciated. Also,i would like someone to answer me if possible regarding the side of the curve. In peyronies, does the curve has to be on the side of the scar tissue/inflammation?

Thanks for reading this.
I am looking forward for your responses and recommendations.

You are correct that a Peyronies curve is usually towards the side of pain as the scar tissue won't stretch. And the pain is from trying to stretch the scar tissue.

Have you tried ibuprofen or maybe an anti inflammatory for the pain?

I can't find any record of anyone having replied to KC2s first post.

Injections can cause Peyronie's and so can priaprism or prolonged erection. Please read if you haven't, Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums

It sounds like a clear case of Peyronie's, but keep in mind that Peyronie's is just a term, scar tissue is scar tissue, but you do need to address it and alter your habits while trying to treat it. Pain is not a requirement for Peyronie's, as many of us never had any pain. Since getting Peyronie's/injuring my penis, masturbation twice in one day became a complete no-no. Even masturbation two days in a row was impossible without further damaging myself and causing inflammation. Now, nearly 3 years later I actually can masturbate twice in a day, but if I push it beyond that or try that two days in a row, I'm guaranteed to cause damage. Penile injury is similar in my opinion to any muscular or tendon damage. If you have elbow tendonitis, you have to build yourself back to 100% over years of adjusted training and resting. What I mean is, you need to rest your penis, but you also do need to try erections occasionally to encourage blood flow and re-modeling of the scar tissue. But when you do use your penis, you may have to change the way you've done it in the past. Be much more careful, make sure you are never ever masturbating with a less than hard penis. Relax the pelvic muscles and use a light grip.

I recommend traction in particular if you have a curve to the side. It can reduce it or rid you of it rather quickly if you are still in the early stages in particular. If your penis is still healing and inflamed, traction will make sure it heals straight or will stretch out that scar tissue. Read up on traction and check out the studies on the traction board. Check out all the oral supplements as well but for the most part we all recommend Pentox and CoQ10. One last word on traction, is that the important part is the duration and angle from my experience. Do not put too much tension on your penis, just wear the device for long periods of time. Personally I have never been able to afford a device, so I spend my evenings manually stretching my penis with my hand for several hours a day. My curve is almost entirely gone and my erection quality has come back since injury. Keep in mind that that any penile manipulation should be done with great care and caution. Duration and angle, NOT tension.

My above recommendation is based on my own knowledge and experiences and what I've heard from other members, but please do your own research on traction and other treatments and come to your own conclusion.

Hey LWillisjr,

Yes, I tried Ibuprofen but didn't do anything. Now the constant pain is fading away, but I noticed when I do a movement of my penis up and down it still hurts, especially when flacid. When it is erect I just feel more tension at that area but not pain.

Neo V,

Thanks for the information. I am sure that I have injured my penis. This is for sure. Does that mean that a scar tissue would be formed necessarily?

An injury of the penis means peyronies?  Regarding priapism, my doctor said that 5:30 hours erection from the injection (I had one for a doppler examination) wouldn't cause fibrosis or any other type of permanent problem.

At the moment I am trying to stretch my penis manually and trying to avoid masturbation for as long as I can. I am taking some oral supplements but these are vitamins nothing chemical. My doctor wouldn't prescribe me pentox because he does not think I have peyronies...at least yet!

This is somewhat typical. Many feel pain at first and it slowly subsides. You still need to be proactive with whatever your therapy of choice is.

L Willisjr,

I am taking Vitamin D and E, CoQ 10, L-Carnitine as supplements daily and Cialis low dose once every two days.
When I take the cialis the pain comes back and also the arousal but not an erection. My erections in general are in the worst condition they have ever been since problems started. I noticed that when I take cialis at night the erection comes after I go to sleep and it wakes me up. Although the erections at night in bed are straight( no curve) they are much weaker than it used to be. Not good enough for masturbation or sex.

The only curve I am still noticing is when is semi-erect. When It is semi-erect sometimes, it is like the blood cannot flow from the point of the pain and above and hence at that point the half-erected penis curves. Also the pain is much more felt after the erection is gone and not during the erection, During the erection I just feel more tension in that area of the penis but not pain.

It will be nice to hear your opinion. By the way I am 26. The fact that I am young is it an advantage for correcting things if someting has gone wrong? Or age does not really matter with these things? I mean the penis.

Also, it will be nice to hear your story. How did the disease started for you and how did you get rid of it? If I am correct you are saying in your profile that you are free from Peyronies for a few years.

Looking forward for your response.
Thanks in advance!

Allow me to ramble a bit.

Your doctor is wrong about priaprism not causing damage. It is a risk factor for penile fibrosis, which is essentially Peyronie's, those injections have caused members here to have Peyronie's.

Penile injury is a major risk factor of scarring of the penis, which is Peyronie's. Peyronie's is diagnosed mostly visually, based on how badly we are effected by the curve. Doppler ultrasounds do little to diagnose though they can be helpful and should be done.

When a man injures his penis the penis will create scar tissue as a natural response more so than not if you ask me. It isn't necessarily an error or disease of the body. The same thing happens when we damage other parts of the body. When this scarring is bad enough to cause noticeable change in shape or function, you have Peyronie's.

One old study showed that ONE FOURTH of all dead bodies examined in a study had penile scarring.

Age does matter, and you are at an "advantage" in that sense, just as I was/am. Treat it aggressively and take good care of it.

The big thing to do here is to allow years to go by where you do not further damage your penis. During this time natural erections will slowly remodel your penis. That's why I always recommend avoiding porn and masturbation, because it will give you harder erections. It's harder to have good erections when you're older. Stay as healthy as possible now, use your penis carefully.

Peyronie's can be very transient, it isn't clear cut. What you describe sounds just like my case. Scar tissue is not always visible or palpable or even detectable by ultrasound (though in theory it should be). All of us here will recommend that you see a specialist who will prescribe pentox if you choose to take it. I personally only take the natural supplements and stretch my penis manuall -- the cheap route. But here I am almost completely recovered.

Thanks for your response.
Regarding the priapism, they told me that 5:30 hours doesn't cause permanent damage (fibrosis) but maybe cause irritation. For significant risk of fibrosis you should have an erection about 10-12 hours, they told me. I was experiencing some swelling and itchy feeling at the side of the injection up to 3 weeks after but no pain. The pain started when at the 3rd week I masturbated forcufully without good erection almost flaccid, twice the same night. The pain went away in 10 days, and it came back after 20 days again. Now it is on and off, but the erections are really not good, and cialis when I use it it causes a burning feeling inside the penis.

I have seen two doctors ( one is the guy who did the ultrasound test) and both claim that it might be irritation due to the masturbation but not something very serious.

Now regarding pentox. I am also suffering from sleeping problems and heard that pentox causes insomnia. So I guess that shouldn't be the right medicine for me.

There are a few thing I want to ask you:
1. I did the ultrasound test at the first place because for two years my erections where not as good as they used to be after a head injury, and after I had already done numerous examinations that showed nothing abnormal. After the test the doctor said that I don't have any venous leakage problems. However now, after an ongoing irritation-inflammation for about 2 and a half months, and with erections having become much worst, is it possible to acquire venous leakage problems from this?  Or is it possible for fibrosis to be taking place now, due to the inflammation-irritation?

2. Also can you give me a list of the supplements/diet that you are saying it has helped you?
Also regarding manual stretching, can you be more precise on what exactly you are doing? I mean, is it helpful to press the penis at the area of the penis where the pain is?
Also stretching the penis from the head, pulling out away from the body, causes pain. Why is that a good thing to do?

WRONG!!! Any erection of more that 4 hours is dangerous!!!

Well to read my story you just need to click on the "My history" link at the bottom of all my posts. I'm a little confused by your symptoms. Sounds like you biggest concern currently could be ED.... ??
