Pelvic clenching to achieve orgasm as a cause.

I've mentioned this before, but I want to make a thread for it, since I feel very strongly that this was a major factor in causing my Peyronie's.

This post is not about CPPS, it is purely about clenching your pelvic muscles in order to orgasm and it's effect on penis health or as a possible cause of Peyronie's.

I used to squeeze so hard in order to achieve ejaculation that after I would curl up in a ball and be unable to move from the pain. My penis would bend afterwards, and I would ache all through the area. For years I did this, until finally the post-ejaculatory bending became chronic, aka my Peyronie's.

Now that I've stopped, I rarely have bending or inflammation and my natural erections hold themselves up much better. I still have a habit of clenching, as if it's my bodies natural response.

I'd love to hear other's experiences with this.

I clenched my pc muscle for years. And I often find myself beeing tense there all day.

The contra movement is to do what is called a reverse kegel. Basicly instead of holding your urin when pissing you are pushing it out.

I also clenched it all the time when masturbating.

I think it might be a trained response but it also is related to fear and not beeing relaxed.

Its interesting that you say aneurism as I felt rather bloddles and remember a very weak and lifeless bloodles dick prior to developing peyronies.

I dont think its the single cause but it can contribute to peyronies.

I'm not really conscious of doing anything in particular with my pelvis during orgasm. So I'm scratching my head, and asking, Do I do that?

I don't know!

scotty

I read your theory and not sure I understand it all.  Is simply holding off ejactulating as long as possible considered clenching? Also, I wonder if getting fingered in your anus would reduce the pressure you're talking about, or would it increase it?  Any thoughts on that? Thanks.

NeoV

I cleaned up the post, it should be straight forward.

I mean clenching or tightening your PC muscles or other muscles in your pelvic area. This has very little to do with avoiding ejaculation, though as a side note, it's helped me when I've avoided all stimulation for longer periods of time.

NeoV

I got an ultrasound in San Jose and it confirmed that my most problematic cords are actually originating from my penile artery. No clear plaque can be found with a basic doppler.

I strongly think, until proven otherwise, that I have muscular dysfunction which has caused vascular dilation and inflammation. More accurately, I think I have given myself penile aneurysms from intense and forceful pelvic clenching.

I used to clench so hard that I felt for sure I had broken something inside my pelvic area. This was all due to delayed ejaculation due to psychological stress.
Every time I had sex or masturbated I would clench so hard that anyone in the right mind would cringe in horror. I really cannot stress this enough. Sometimes this would go on for almost an hour if I could not achieve ejaculation during sex. The result would be a near 360 degree bent penis afterwards. and throbbing intense pain in my pelvis.

Now that I've stopped I'm doing much much better, I am feeling really good about my sexuality and I this is honestly a first in my life, ever. The issue however is still present, and I have to be very careful not to aggravate what appears to be damaged or dilated arteries on both sides. I have decided to take my recovery to the next level and simply stop masturbating for a long long time.

Let this extra post just serve as an update to my opinion on this matter, and regarding this "phenomenon", which may be a vascular trauma induced Peyronie's mimic.

Hope it will get better for you NeoV.

Clenching is something I've always done when having sex, actually I think it was one way to increase the intensity or my orgasms.
As far as I remember, I never felt bad after it, actually just feeling "hell yeah that was good and intense".
Through years, I believe the intensity of my orgasms increased, probably due to a better management to build up the climax during the intercourse and also due to maybe a higher degree of clenching.
I remember that my last orgasms were quite "fantastic" in term of intensity and it would be quite sad if we have to reduce the intensity to keep it safe from a Peyronies Disease standpoint, but if that's the way to go, I definitely would avoid clenching in order to get rid off Peyronies Disease. Till I can please my partner, I'm happy.

NeoV

Hey MatP thanks for replying to this. I very possible that I have something other than Peyronie's such as vascular thrombosis or urethral scarring. Either way the correlation between clenching and deformity seems quite obvious in my case! Just want to make sure other guys like me consider this.

MatP

You are right, it's worth mentioning it to increase our awareness.
In fact,  Peyronies Disease affecting millions of men, I'm very surprised to have never heard about it before being diagnosed.
Building awareness at school about Peyronies Disease and its potential triggers could save many guys.

I have read and re-read these posts. I'm still so confused as to what is pelvic clinching and I don't know if i do it? Is it tightening your butt?  If someone doesn't mind explaining a bit better, that would be helpful.  Thank you.

Thisismyusername

Scotty, have you noticed you can make your erect penis move by tightening certain muscles?  These are the same muscles that you tighten to do a "kegel".

They are not the same muscles as the butt or anus but are nearby and can be associated with tension in those areas.

Personally, in my case, CPPS and pelvic tension followed after peyronie's, not before, so for me this was not a cause.  However, I do agree that tensing pelvic muscles anymore than is "natural" during sex or erection is bad for pelvic health and could be bad for your penis too.

I'm beginning to believe that what we call "Peyronie's Disease" is actually a number of conditions with some similar symptoms--and diverse causes.

There seem to be some common threads: inflammation, mitochondrial malfunctions, dysfunctional wound repair. But there are a lot of roads to all of these conditions.

Although we usually talk about 'plaques,' as a kind of shield or disc, I'm hearing (and experiencing) more about 'cords.' (I seem to have both.)

I am beginning to believe that there are any number of roads that lead to this condition, including direct trauma (penile stress or fracturing), indirect trauma (such as the many people who develop this after prostate surgery), overuse, overprolonged erections, medications, and who knows what else--or what combination of these.

I have no trouble at all in believing that clenching could be a cause, or a partial cause, of some of the things we call Peyronie's.

scotty

Thank you "thisismyusername".  Oddly, with Peyronies, I can't move my erection as much as I used to with those muscles.  But my plaques are low down on my shaft.  I still have a lot of pain, three years in, like there are likely more plaques inside my body.  Does that make sense?

I have thought this for some time. Seems we refer now to a wide range of symptoms as Peyronies.

Les, I'm not surprised you've already reached that conclusion. (In fact, I'd bet you already said it somewhere.)

back to pelvic clenching...in my case, I started hearing all those studies about building up your pelcvic muscles by doing Kegels to prolong ejaculation during sex so you could build up the intensity and have an incredible climax when you finally did ejaculate. I would do all the exercises and noticed I could clench and keep myself from ejaculating even though I would spasm. A good thing turned bad because I got into such a habit with clenching to prevent ejaculation that I got to the point where I could not let loos of my muscles and ejaculate. It literally scared me because eventhough I was going through the motions of ejaculating, I couldn't physically ejaculate because I couldn't stop squeezing my pelvic muscles. This was true during sex or masturbation. Emotionally I was unable to let loose. I would just clench and keep the semen in. It took me over a year to train myself to not clench, so I just don't do that anymore regardless of how intense it would be.

NeoV

That's interesting bpman, it also has taken me around a year or so to stop clenching. Whenever I did it my penis would fill up oddly and get very hard, only to shrink in firmness thereafter. Now that I've stopped my regular erections are just a lot harder, but it's literally like training yourself not to blink your eyes since it's so natural. I still have a bunch of cords but they have all shrunk and moved down my shaft now all the way down by my scrotum.

KAC

Isn't that what they call retrograde ejaculation--in which the semen empties into the bladder instead?  I experienced it when I tried some medication for bph.  At least in that case you do have an orgasm, it's just note as satisfying. Or maybe you're experiencing something altogether different. KAC

Using a big inflatable exercise ball seems to help for me.  Just sitting on it for an hour or so, moving around slightly while reading or whatever seems to loosen everything up, from my pelvic floor up to my neck.  Slightly bouncing and/or swirling my pelvis around in a small circle while sitting on the ball is all that's necessary.

Control of orgasm I don't believe a causal factor.  Such a thing is termed "male continence" and has been around for a very long time.  It relates to an Eastern practice of orgasmic control not so much to make it better but to simply not do it as much, which still enjoying the pleasures of lovemaking.  Some of the Eastern traditions have focused on sex for a few centuries, and we could learn much from them.  Our Puritanical roots have kept this sort of information secret for a long time.

I read through this thread and saw mention of Urethral scarring.  I know that I have that from my injury, as I have since then almost always "sprayed" when urinating.  1981 was the injury.  1990, I had to be catheterized for knee surgery, and afterwards for about a year I did NOT spray...then it returned.

Since I didn't have any Peyronies symptoms until 2014, I don't necessarily believe it causal, although it could be related.  My Peyronies actually manifested when I quit daily masturbation.  I am all but convinced that my case of Peyronies is simply scarring from the old wound which was held off by daily manipulation.

Now that I am pursuing a treatment program of traction and VED, I am playing "catch up" on the tissue manipulation.  I'm having to break down what built up whereas I used to keep it broken down.

I will evaluate my progress in a week or two and see if I'm on the right track.  I will also be adding some of the nutritional supplements mentioned here.

You are wrong Kuaka, for millenniums.

True.  Millennia is a more accurate term than Centuries...

I did a bit of a study of some of the Eastern traditions as a way to help break the porn habit.  It was very successful, except for the apparent side effect of allowing Peyronies to develop.  I broke the three fold cord of Porn, Mastubation and Orgasm (the things that add up to Porn Induced Erectile Deficiency) by taking them on one at a time.  First was the Porn, since it was added only to allow more orgasms to begin with.  Then was the Orgasm...I would allow myself to masturbate but not orgasm.  I could actually do that for quite some time and it was quite enjoyable...even allowed myself to engage in what is known as "edging" for a while.  That practice can become addictive in itself, so all of the nofap and other groups I was working with were discouraging it, but I had success with it.  At that time, I could and did often get some very good erections.  Then to complete the process, I stopped the Masturbation altogether too...looking back, that may have been a mistake.

Most of the "12 step" type of programs are nothing more than white knuckling anyway.  It is amazing that they ever have any success.  Of course, getting on "real" pain management was necessary before I could do any of this.  Now, here I am.  :/

Wow I think I have this exact problem. It seems I can't control it when my penis will clinch. When I am about to climax my penis will just clinch and it will take me awhile to release. Even when peeing or laughing, I will just clinch up for no reason. So is it my pelvic muscles that are doing this? How do you train yourself to stop doing this?

Also kuaka your symptoms of getting peyronies sounds alot like how I developed this condition. I would normally get my self to almost climax and then stop to let myself cool down to get a harder erection and a more intense orgasm. I did this for about a year and then one night I was trying to climax and I clinched for no reason (it was out of my control). I felt a sharp pain and got peyronies a week later. Back when I just started to edge I also noticed that when I pee, I will always spray everywhere. This will happen every time I pee. Not just after sexual activity which is normal. But yeah some info on how to stop clinching uncontrollably would be appreciated.

kuaka

My spraying when I pee is due to the injury many years ago, as I have done that since I was 19...except for about a year after my knee surgery where I was catheterized, which apparently stretched that scarring out a bit.  My Peyronies seems to have come on after I quit continually manipulating it.  About six months later, when morning wood returned after PIED for a while, was when it was noticeable.  I built the traction device shortly afterwards, and it has already seemed to help a bit.  I'm hoping the nutritional supplements and VED therapy will do the job.
