Hello, New to the Forum but I've visited from time to time, Lots of good information here. Sometimes a bit too much. Like any group, we all have our own issues. I'm looking for help with treatment options from damage sustained over a period of several years. Like many physical ailments this doesn't seem to get better, on its own. Pro active response is needed.

I probably went five years after being treated with Alpha Interferon and anti-viral drugs, for a mild strain of Hep-C that we figure I'd been carrying around for 30 years. Not to expand on that subject too much, Hepatitis comes in a variety of sub groups and "geno types", A, B, C, with variations on each. Hep-C strains in particular were not even recognized back in the 1980s. Bottom line, I chose to undergo treatment although in good health and I probably could have waited. Years later I'm still suffering from side effects, including penile atrophy, Low-T and other issues.

At this point having tried a few things, like other physical problems it seems that improvement will only happen if a treatment plan is followed daily... I'm not badly overweight but this seems like a similar issue. Losing weight while holding on to muscle, in our 50s and 60s, is going to take some effort. Otherwise we'll continue to get flabby and invite problems such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease etc.

I was told by a Doc that various symptoms of Peyronie's are fairly common, with a kind of shrug he acted like just a normal part of aging ? I want to believe it IS reversible with some effort... just like diabetes may be reversed on a strict diet and exercise program. Thanks to all in the senior bracket who have contributed to this Forum!  :)

Welcome to the forum :)
By penile atrophy I assume you mean a loss of length and girth? VED usage should be able to help you restore some of what you have lost. It has certainly helped me on that front. I've regained a fair bit of girth and a little length in the couple of months I've been using VED moderately. If you have a look in the VED board there is a ton of good info there. Improving the blood flow to your penis is key, so you could also do well out of using daily low dose cialis (tadalafil - pdh5-inhibitor) to encourage that. There is some evidence that pentox helps as well, if you can tolerate it. I have stomach ulcers so I can't take it, but there are a lot of men who claim it has really helped them.

Hey and welcome,

I appreciate the honesty and maturity if your post, for lack of better words right now.

Peyronies should and can be combatted, like diabetes as you mention, unfortunately very few urologists (and definitely no MDs) know much about it.

Like most first posters the message for you is to see a specialist immediately. Don't be afraid to demand an ultrasound, get a prescription for pentox if you like. VED therapy will help with penile health, as it increases oxygen saturation in the penis and brings fresh blood to the small (maybe damaged) areas of the penis. Traction has been shown to have a lot if benefits and in my case has nearly rid me of the disease, though I used my hands.

After that there is coq10/ubiquinol, and I might add any supplement that helps the penis, be it pinebark extract or grapeseed extract, Arginine and citrulline, vitamin D, etc.

29 year old. I was taking 400 Mg spironolactone to treat hair loss. Xanax withdrawal in combination with spironolactone shrunk my penis from 6" to 4".
I am seeking information about the sliding technique.
