Hello everyone,

I just joined this site for obvious reasons, but I'll give a run down of my condition. I'm 58 and about 2 weeks ago I woke up with an erection that had curvature on the left side of my penis near the shaft. Needless to say, I was quite surprised at this development. Yesterday, I went to see a urologist at very reputable hospital in Philadelphia. I read in his profile that he specialized in Peyronies disease. He examined me and determined that I have about a 45 degree curvature. He suggested vitamin E supplements, but when I told him that I had heart disease and 5 stents implanted he retracted the suggestion of the supplement, and told me that we should wait 4 months to see if the condition cures itself. Of course, I don't want to wait that long.

Today, I contacted my cardiologist's office in the same hospital and spoke with his assistant (female) explaining I had condition of a personal nature and would like to ask my heart doctor if he feels it would be safe (not jeopardize my heart) to take a vitamin E supplement. Hopefully, he will respond in the next few days.

I haven't even explored your site or the posts, but I did read the whole introduction, so I have a general idea what most men do initially when they discover there are oral medications available right away to battle the unusual and shocking onset of this condition.

My dilemma is that i have this heart problem along with managing high blood pressure. My heart issue started in 2010 and I've been the picture of health since the stents were implanted. I modified my diet to heart healthy, exercise regularly, and sleep well. My sex drive dwindled significantly following that incident, but I still engaged in sex and it was enjoyable.

I know everyone here can relate when I say this: Now, I'm completely embarrassed to have sex with anyone because of this condition. It's not as bad as some that I've seen while researching the Internet, but I've always been overly confident of the size and erect stature of my penis. I know that sounds cocky, and I don't want to come off as a jerk. But, all my life I've been a very confident individual in that department. So, this onset has devastated me and I'm gradually becoming reclusive and unsociable for fear of anyone taking interest in me sexually. I can still ejaculate and enjoy it, but not only is my penis curved, it also appears to have shrunk.

I'm hoping my heart doctor will okay the use of vitamin E, but I'd like to know if anyone else here has heart issues along with this condition and would like to know if they have any suggestions for safe treatment of the condition without affecting the heart.

Thanks for your time in reading about my problem, and I look forward to hearing from you!  :)

Please read the forum rules. We are not posting the same post twice.
I deleted your other post because it will not help you to get answers to the same post in two different places.

Regarding your post:
First you should see an other urologist, specialized in Peyronies because this one is NOT. Prescribing you just vitamin E id not considered a treatment today.
You should read the forum to understand your options. My advice to you:
Read, learn and printout the researches made for VED, Pentox, low dose Cialis and Ubiquinol and make an appointment first with your cardiologist to discuss the subject.
Do it sooner than later as this disease should be treated in the early stages to get better results, stopping the progression of the disease and even reverse the symptoms.

I was completely confused as to what was happening to me, but thanks to this site, I was able to make an appointment with Dr. Mulhall in NYC. He examined me and determined I definitely have Peyronies Disease. Now, He is scheduling me for an ultrasound procedure to determine the severity of the curve.

I'm feeling very uneasy because they told me they'll have to inject something directly into my penis. I know many of you have had this procedure and I'm wondering how painful this injection might be?

The injections is not unbearable.
It is to induce an erection to check venous leakages.

A specialist should not recommend vitamin E, see someone else!

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, so it does have positive effects on just about anything, but no more than say, eating more berries or adding olive oil to your diet.

It is particularly disturbing that some Uroloogists can describe themselves as "Peyronies Speciaists" when clearly, like the doctor you mention, they haven't got a clue!

You have found the right place in this site. Read all you can. Arm yourself with as much information and knowledge about this affliction, as you can. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And if you don't feel that the answers stack up, question them again, or look elsewhere.
