The psychological component of ED

I've had issues with ED for going on six months, when there was a sudden aggressive progression of my Peyronies Disease. There is what I believe to be a physical component, multiple plaques blocking blood flow, leading to weaker erections which don't last more than a few minutes. Then there is the psychological component, which I suspect is the most problematic aspect. When aroused, the moment that peyronie's comes to mind, I lose the erection. It's only been this way since lost a fair bit of length and girth, and the bends became more obvious. For example, I notice during intercourse that the sensation is different, my partner doesn't feel as tight as she used to. She hasn't changed, but I have. As soon as I realise this, there goes the erection. With masturbation, feeling the lumps and bends is very off putting, and the erection vanishes. We ordered a 'masturbator' from a sex toy website for me to try out, and at first it seemed to be ok, but at the back of my mind there was a niggling thought, that I was only using the thing due to the peyronie's, and poof, the erection vanished.
I've not yet tried viagra, or a cock ring, although I will likely do so in the future if I can't find another alternative. But what I wanted to ask you guys, is how do you cope with the psychological aspect of ED. How do you take your mind away from the annoying presence of the peyronie's thoughts? The constant off-putting  knowledge that I have this frustrating impediment is enough to drive me insane when I'm trying to be intimate with my wife.
Sure, there are plenty of other ways to pleasure my partner than with my penis, and I do get a great deal of satisfaction from doing so. But sometimes it would be nice to achieve an erection for long enough to climax. We have spoken about going to see a sex therapist, but the cost is a problem. Any suggestions fellas?

Implant

EDIT: Sorry that was a bit brief as a reply. I just read that the longer you wait with an implant with ED the more size you lose. So I would go for it as soon as possible IF you want a good sex life in future.

I succeed somehow, not always, to take a way my thought about my crocked penis.
It is a constant effort and many time makes me thinking twice if I want or not to have sex.
As I wrote in other posts, my treatment helped me somehow with the ED, especially the PRP, not yet to a level that I am satisfied.
If things will not get there, I will go on implant. Regarding length, the AMS 700 LGX will increase the girth during time and get longer with up to 20% from where you are before the implant.
I am proposing you to try Viagra, 25 mg. If no help, increase to 50 mg, if no help to 100 mg. It makes me self confident (again) so the anxiety that contributes to the ED is gone.

WW- Do yourself a favor-Get a good VED and use the cock rings, you will have no problem keeping an erection and your wife will love you for it.Regards Inkhorn

I'm quite reluctant at this point to go down the surgical implant route, as it was surgery that put me in this position in the first place. For me that's going to be a last resort, but thanks for the advice emasculated.

James1947, I see a new doc this week, and will be taking with me the studies on pentox and cialis low dose in the hope that he will prescribe these for me. Can you take viagra on demand when on a low-dose cialis treatment, or is it better to go for a high dose of cialis when you want to use it for intercourse? I have read better reviews of viagra than cialis for on demand use.

Inkhorn, I've yet to notice any difference using a ved, but i have only had mine for a couple of weeks. The only thing that worries me about using a cock ring is the concern I have about causing further plaques where the band constricts. I don't even know if that can happen, but it strikes me as a possibility. I have so many lumps/plaques that I am scared of causing more damage...

For me Cialis 20 mg for intercourse just not worked. I get incredible sheathings, back pain, dizziness, flushing's but no erections.
Viagra gived/giving me a good erection (excellent erections in the past) in doses of 25, 50, 100 mg. Get flushing's also and headache, but manageable.
Regarding VED, you will see results after months, not weeks, so don't give up. Regarding constriction rings, never succeeded to use them.

WW- I guess there is that possibility of damage from the rings, and I thought about it myself. The reality, for me it's the only game in town. I can stay as hard as I want as long as I want. You have to ask yourself the question " Are the fish worth the cost of the worms" ? Regards Inkhorn

I added your sentence to my collection of smart sentences :)
QuoteAre the fish worth the cost of the worms" ?
Don't be angry if I will use it in the future. :) :)

James- Go for it. I stole it from a preacher, who lived in the early 1900's, E.W. Kenyon. There are few thoughts that are original and as Solomon says " There is nothing new under the sun" Regards Inkhorn
