Hello,
I just (1 month) was diagnosed with mild Peyronies Disease, the curvature is about 10-15% I'd say and pain is mild. I saw a urologist who admitted he didn't know anything about it and asked me to see the groups PA who does all this work. That's in 2 months..
I'm going to start coQ10 100 mg 3 x a day now and wanted to know about taking trental also, if any of you are physicians I am also and can self prescribe or ask a colleague to. Id like to get started on that drug right away. I do have a LOT of performance anxiety and am panicking that my sex life is over, at 51 years old. Does anyone know of specialists in the Minneapolis area also?
Lastly thank you so much for this forum, what Ive read so far is so so helpful..

An expert close to you may find in the link bellow:

CoQ10 will not do much because your age is 51, you should take Ubiquinol, the refined CoQ10 (Ubiquinone). Debate on the subject you may find bellow:
Coenzyme Q10/Ubiquinone - Ubiquinol - Peyronies Society Forums
It is  good idea to start on Pentox as soon as you can, I was adding 2.5 mg daily Cialis if you don't have ED, 5 mg if you have.
Also I was starting using VED, gently, according to the protocol on the forum.

If you'll read the boards a bit, you'll see that Trental (Pentox.) is pretty much the gold standard prescription pharmaceutical treatment for Peyronie's.  COQ10 (Ubiquinol) is a supplement that some believe has some positive effect.  The two together, plus daily low dose Cialis, are pretty much the go-to oral treatment at this point.  Don't expect a miracle, but they're about the best one can do right now for this "disease."

Don't panic. I know it's hard not to, but most men on here with Peyronies Disease remain sexually active. It's not a sexual death sentence in the majority of cases.

51 yrs. old, multiple auto-immune conditions. First episode of Peyronies Disease in 2002. Recurred a couple times since. Over the years I have tried Topical Verapamil, Iontophoresis, all the supps and Cialis + Pentoxifylline. Still functional, always worried.

I also live in the twin cities and recently saw Dr Landon Trost at the mayo clinic.  There aren't many experts in MN as Dr Nehra went to Rush in IL.  Dr Trost is young at 33 but I can assure he knows what is going on.  He does all the peyronies cases at mayo and studied under Dr Mulhall and Hellstrom.  Here is his info on the site: Landon W. Trost, M.D. - Doctors and Medical Staff - Mayo Clinic.
He is the only Dr in the state who can do xiaflex injections and prescribes pentox and cialis.  I will write something soon on my experience with him.  If you want more info PM me.

Many of us get pentox online.

For mild cases VED therapy might restore some of your lost dimensions.

EDIT: VED, as far as I'm concerned does restore lost dimensions regardless of the progression of the disease. I think it's invaluable.
The only reason I speak of it lightly is to not anger those who for whatever reason do not find VED useful. I stand by my belief in it's usefulness.

What I actually wanted to say was buy a VED immediately and start oral therapy.

Your statement bellow is not accurate:
QuoteFor mild cases VED therapy might restore some of your lost dimensions.
My case is far from mild (to the bad direction) and VED has helped to restore some length and girth.
I don't think I am alone on this subject.

bigchetek12,

I was referred to Dr. Landon Trost at the Mayo Clinic. I highly recommend him. He specializes in the disease and as stated by Get Bent he is one of the leaders in less evasive corrections. He has several publications and was a large contributor to the new drug xiaflex being approved for treatment in this disease.
