I'm scheduled to get an inflatable implant in 2 weeks and I'm concerned about losing size.  Is there anything I can do to maintain or gain size.  How about cutting the suspensory ligament Does this work and are there downsides to it?
Finally, how is the recovery period, will I be in a lot of pain?

Thanks in advance for your help

Add,
You need to visit with Jackp on this. He has had it done. I can tell you that your size will depend on the model of implant. Have you not discussed this with the surgeon? Some models do a very good job of maintaining size. If you don't know which type and model number you are getting, then call your doctor now and find out. It matters! I think pain and recovery will be very similar to plication surgery, which can hurt like crazy for a few days, but is controllable with drugs. In 6-8 weeks you will be back in the saddle again. If you cannot reach Jackp, go to his profile and find his blog. There will be info there to help you. Good luck on your surgery.

Hey addboy!

Best of luck to you! I am getting closer and closer to making that call myself. Can you tell me where you are having this done and who your surgeon is?

Addboy let me tell you a little about my experience.  I had ed for years pills worked for several years and then I tried the vacuum pump, It would work but the pain and the other things about the pump helped me to decide about the implant.  I am not one to jump at something like this without lots of research.  I had my implant done Feb. 27 and tomorrow I have an appointment to have it activated ( I hope ).  Tomorrow will be six weeks since surgery.  My surgery went really well.  I had very little pain mostly discomfort.  I know everyone is different, but I believe it will be worth it.   I forgot to mention I had Peyronies Disease also, My surgeon says the implant will help straighten the curve that I had, about 60 degrees ( was not measured).   Talk with Jack, he helped me.  I still don't know about the length yet, but should get an Idea about it tomorrow.  Hang in there and do what is right for you.

Thanks all for the support.
I'm getting my implant done at Hahnemann University Hospital by Dr. Bruce Garber. He is supposedly top 5 implant specialists in the country according to AMS rep I spoke with at a seminar I attended.
I need to confirm but I believe he will be implanting the Titan OTR.

You are saying that according to AMS representative Dr. Bruce Garber is one of the top 5 implant specialists, but you will get the Titan OTR?
The Titan OTR is not an AMS product.
As I understand from searching what will be the best implant, the Titan is good for people that have a big penis because is extending just in girth.
The AMS 700LGX is length and girth expanding and fit people that have shorter penis and/or lost size to Peyronies.

How did you get hooked up with a AMS rep in the first place? You mentioned a seminar?

From what I have learned both manufactures of these devices are located right here in Minneapolis, MN and both are excellent. It seems surgeons decide which to use based on the specific details of the individual receiving the device and personal preference of the surgeon performing the procedure. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other.

I sent AMS an email last night asking them to recommend a local surgeon but they haven't responded yet. I'd get one tomorrow if I could work out the details fast enough. I can't take the constant discomfort anymore.

Good luck bro!

My Doctor held an informational seminar sponsored by AMS in Philadelphia. There were 2 reps, a young man and woman. I suppose they travel all over or have reps in satellite offices. I just dug up the DVD info packet to confirm that it was AMS that was there. I haven't watched the video though.  There was a gentleman there who had the surgery done who said he couldn't be happier. He said eventually it becomes part of you and you don't know it's there until you need it. He and his wife are very happy. If anyone would like me to get any info on another seminar I can try to find out when another will be.
As far as which model I will be getting, I'm a little confused myself and have emailed my doctor to clarify. As Knight said, it may be at the dr's discretion and I could be getting either 3 piece model.
I'll let you know when I have more info.
