Hey,

Has anyone been prescribed a VED through the NHS to treat peyronies disease? I know they do offer it for ED, I've visited my local GP and he he was a bit skeptical about it and just said he will get back to me.

Cheers

Hiya D,

My local gp sent me to see a urologist and he never mentioned ved at all. I have bought one after reading this forum and have had some good results in my early stages of the 26 week protocol. I go to see the urologist at the end of January 2014 and will be telling him of my results.

will try to keep everyone posted as to what he has to say on the matter.

Regards

Jeff

Yes I have been prescribed the SOMACorrect VED on the NHS.  My urologist asked my GP to prescribe it & Levitra on an FP10 - which I think means an NHS form.  It arrived yesterday.

The suppliers website in the UK says ( have read that we are not allowed to post links on this forum to commercial websites so have removed it) PM me for the address is you need it.

"... To qualify for an NHS prescription, you must have or have had either diabetes, prostate cancer, prostatectomy (includes TURP), multiple sclerosis, parkinson's disease, poliomyelitis, radical pelvic surgery – severe pelvic injury, renal failure treated by dialysis or transplant, single gene neurological disease, spinal cord injury or spina bifida. If you do not have one of these medical conditions, your GP has no obligation to issue you with an NHS prescription ..."

Hope that helps

Does anyone know if you get to pick the model of VED, on the NHS?
Age early thirties, peyronies 4.5 years

Pressure:

You might try asking your doctor or whoever prescribed the VED for you. They might be able to specify either a one or three cylinder in their RX.

Old Man
Age 92. Peyronies Disease at age 24, Peyronies Disease after
stage four radical prostatectomy in 1995, Heart surgery 2004 with three bypasses/three stents.
Three more stents in 2016. Hiatal hernia surgery 2017 with 1/3 stomach reduction. Many other surgeries too.

Just to add, my GP wrote a prescription for me to get the SOMAcorrect STF (3 cylinders) and this was without having to have qualified through the list of things they say you need to have or have been treated for.

So in short, as advised by my urologist (private consultation), if your GP is friendly he can save you having to shell out approx. £200 for a VED and instead have you pay £8.40 for the prescription for the same.

Hope this helps all you UK guys.

That's interesting. I've been in and out of the doctors for years, and seen several urologists for my ED,  and no one has ever offered me a prescription VED.

What is the underlying cause of your ED if you don't ind my asking...and who was your urologist?

My VED was prescribed specifically for Peyronie's Disease, so maybe that's a factor.

Yes, I think that plays a part. I've only this year come close to a diagnosis. I'm currently waiting to see Mr Minhas. Perhaps he can push things along. Until then I'll stick with my cheapo pump from the sex industry. I've nothing to compare it against but it seems to work fairly well. pretty reliable when pumping and has a valve for quick release. I've also just ordered a bathmate for convenience sake. It's hard to use my current VED discreetly.
