Hello and Thank You for having me.
My husband is currently undergoing injection treatments. I am seeking help in any way to not only lend support but to understand the psychological aspects that are affecting us both. I for one, am currently riding the emotional roller coaster. I am grateful for this venue to share and encourage one another.  :-*

My husband of 13 years was diagnosed about a year and a half ago. His doctor seems to think it was caused by either one or a combination of rough sex and genetics. He has had three of eight injections and his fourth is tomorrow. After the third treatment, he was feeling down as it caused more pain than the first two treatments and he has noticed more plaque building up during these treatments. It's as if his body is trying to fight off the treatment by building more plaque, hence his discouragement. There is so much more, I can feel all the words in my throat. Thank you for even listening.  :-[

Hi Mainelady,

We all encourage you here to say absolutely everything on your mind. There is also a ladies only forum in case you were not aware!

I advise both you and your husband to look around these forums thoroughly. What treatment has your husband undergone at this point? Any oral treatments or VED therapy? Have you been able to see a true Peyronies specialist? Injections can cause more plaques, and they still somewhat controversial. In some cases they seem to help a lot, other's not much. Someone else on these forums can give you a better opinion on the matter however. There is a subforum for these injections as well, so please take a look there and lastly I highly recommend your husband look into daily VED therapy immediately or as soon as possible. There is also a VED subforum on these forums.

This must be a very hard time for both of you, but there is hope down the line. Please look into the various treatments and don't be afraid to rant or rave here or say whatever you need to. Ask away!

Personally I would never go anywhere near injections, especially not until I had got my systemic inflammation under control.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Thank you very much NeoV for giving me the space. I took your advice and spent much of the day reading on this forum and am grateful for the wealth of information. This is the only course of treatment he has tried, after the fourth injection, more pain and more blood, so our hopes are kinda in the dumper at present so I appreciate your encouragement and direction.

Thank you as well skunkworks. I have read your link and found it very informative.

I am grateful to have found the Ladies Room. I hope to gain more insight from the female perspective.  :-[
