Im 31 and recently married with no kids.  About 10 months ago I began experiencing some discomfort while flacid.  4 months ago the curvature began and I just visited my urologist a few days ago who said I have Peyronies Disease.  He told me to take 800iu Vitamin E daily and come back in 6 months.  I don't want to wait 6 months to begin fighting. He also said most people will stop experiencing pain and difficulties around a year.  I have been sexualy active with the curve but I am concernced it is getting worse.  I am going to purchase and begin taking the COQ10, Acetyl L-Caritine and L-arginine.  I want to find a list of doctors who are more specialized, but I couldn't find anywhere in this blog a list of doctors. Finding out has been over stressful and I have been having trouble sleeping and working with the terrible anxiety I am having.  I have a couple questions if anyone could help me.

Also, we want kids and have dicided to begin trying now, because I feel like I may not be able to soon.

Should I call my doctor and request Pentex?
Should I find another doctor and try something different before I go back in 6 months?
Will the plaque get softer and reduce the curvature after 12-18 months?

Thanks everyone.  I am so grateful I found this page.

Also...Is it ok to take these supplements without my doctor saying it is ok?  Should I consider buying Vacuum and using it now as opposed to waiting?

I'm ready to act, I just want to gather good insight before getting started.

It looks to me like you've already done some solid research and are on the best path with your plan of action. Continue with the supplements you mentioned, find a doctor who will give you Cialis and Pentox and start VED therapy as soon as possible. It took me 3 doctors before I was able to get the Pentox simply because the first 3 I saw were not up to speed on Peyronies. In my opinion you will find more information on this forum than you will get from most urologists. Best of luck!

Is cialis a good choice even though I do not have ed yet?  Im calling today to request pentox and find out if he will prescribe it.
Thanks for the info. And and all advice is helpful.

I don't have ED issues yet either, but Cialis has really help with making erections firmer which reduces the possibility of further injury. It helps bring blood to our penis and that is a very good thing. Cialis is highly recommended by the old timers on this forum and Peyronies specialists everywhere. From why I have learned so far I would get on it as soon as possible.

I picked up the otc products recommended on the beginners page. Im a little worried about how my body will react to all the new supplements but im going to try. I'm still taking the vitamin e. The Dr rejected my request for the pentox. He said he doesn't prescribe anything for Peyronies Disease because nothing works.  However he did say he would set me up with cialis if I wanted it. Will it be beneficial to only take the cialis? Should I find another doctor? I noticed the mention of a sexual male specialist but I couldn't get any results online except for urologists. Well I will continue to do what I can.

Thanks everyone

I agree you should find another doctor. I see someone who specializes in Peyronie's but had not heard of pentox. Still he had no problem prescribing it.  I've now been on it 3 years.  It seems like a lot of specialists who don't know about it change their minds when they look at the data.  It's worth insisting or finding another doctor.  Makes me kind of mad.

It is our collective experience that any doctor that tells you take vitamin E and come back in 6 months really doesn't understand how to treat Peyronies disease. So yes I feel you need to find someone who specializes in treating Peyronies. And there are number of therapy treatments recommended here on this forum that are more successful than the "wait and see if it gets better" approach.

This post has a lot of basic information.

Agreed! I wouldn't waste anymore time or money on your current doctor. Like I previously mentioned, it took me 3 doctors before I found one who was willing to prescribe Pentox. If these guys treating us had the same condition I think they would be a bit more open minded to what has helped others. Until more physicians are up to speed on what works and what might be worth prescribing it is our job to educate them. Educate yours by finding someone worth paying your hard earned cash to. Please keep us posted and best of luck!
