Hi All,

My first post so i'm sure I'll be pointed to a previous post. My story is the same as many. I've been to my GP, has an ultrasound. Results in a week or so ago and my GP confirmed Peyronies.

I have a referral to see a local Urologist. However, I am not too hopeful from what I've read on here. I've printed all the excellent info on here for my doctor and I will be seeing her on Monday evening. I've email her the info also.

However, heres what my questions lies. My missus thinks i'm stressing way too much (maybe shes right) but I dont want to hang around and want to take advice from others on the "not waiting and seeing" approach. What can I do in the meantime to tick things over?

I've started Vit E (2 days ago), I've changed my diet radically to non-inflammetory foods., cut out sugar, processed foods, lots of meat and veg and fruit. Today I bought Ubiquinaol 100mg caps. I will also be picking up Acetyl L-carnitine and L-arginine tonight. I've cut out coffee and and drinking lots of green tea.

Have I missed anything that can be addopted immediately? Over the counter kind of stuff? I will be pressing my doc on Monday for Pentox. I hope she can be persuaded.

Thanks so much. Trying to fight the good fight.

You can't do it alone, Done :)
Regarding your treatment, in addition of asking for Pentox, I was asking the doctor for VED also.

VED is not just for ED. It induced blood flow to the penis and by stretching the tissues it may help not letting the scar tissue to progress.

Yup, VED is not for ED, but for peyronies therapy when mentioned normally on these forums.
I made a huge mistake writing it off as something for ED, it's a therapy for peyronies.
Check out the forums here on VED immediately!

As far as oral therapies, there are a number of things you could take along with the standards you are taking.
I recommend vitamin D over all supplements actually, since most of us have a deficiency.

I'm currently using blueberry extract, and at times drinking tumeric and cinnamon tea. (the cinnamon makes my hands and penis warm like pentox.. why? no clue).

Target blood sugar, testosterone, and inflammation, and go for all kinds of antioxidants.

James and NeoV:

Both of you are right and wrong at the same time!! Please do not write off VED therapy for either of the conditions called ED and Peyronies Disease as a non treatment!!!

VED therapy for ED is one of the most useful tools (no pun intended) to get very good and firm erections. They are very successful to get erections for good penetration and pleasure with vaginal sex. Men who have had their prostate removed due to cancer or any other men's health malady very seldom can have successful erections afterwards. Careful use of a VED can restore a really good sex life for a man without having to take the ED drugs which may or may not have serious side effects, etc. ED drugs have not been proven to work for all men.

VED therapy for Peyronies Disease is one of the most successful tools (again, no pun intended) for getting rid of Peyronies Disease symptoms, especially when one has a very serious curve/bend as well as hourglass indentations. The careful daily use of a VED using a formal protocol with a schedule can and will in most cases help rid one of their Peyronies Disease symptoms. Even if the use of the VED therapy does not eliminate all of ones symptoms, it does promote a more healthy penis. It can also restore lost dimensions, but one must have patience and be in the therapy mode for the long haul.

ED as well as Peyronies Disease therapy is usually not an overnight ''cure'', but again, patience is the watchword for both.

My personal experience and that of many others on and off this forum has taught me the inroads of therapy for both.

This post carries my usual statement:  Caveat preemptor!! Let the buyer/user beware!!!

Gentlemen- I have to agree with Old Man-I have not had a natural erection for 4 years since my prostate was removed, and then two years later, I believe, due to that trauma and atrophy I got peyronies. Not to wax too dramatic, but the VED has been my (small s) sexual savior for all that time. The longer the problem exists the more I know that daily use is crucial. Regards Inkhorn

Hey guys,
I have a condition no urologist can work out (most have been uslesss). I have had an MRI two ultrasounds and cystoscopy, and all are clear. However, one said I had peyronies, another said no and then another said yes. It's been a long ride since September. Anyway, what is different about my penis is that I don't recognise it at all. My erections are inflamed and streched. However I wanted to ask those of you with peyronies...does your penis look very different in the flaccid state. Mine looks chunky, texture of skin is like leather and the glans sit in a wide shaft that looks bulky. The skin under the glans is very wrinkly.

Also I am taking pentox now as my andrologist is unable to explain anything.i take 400gm 3 times a day and -arginine 500 2 times a day. Should I also take actyl l cantinine?? Also I take vitamin e and omega 3 fish oil. ( the last 2 wont help much I know). Does actyl l cartinine act the same way as pentox? Should I also add  cq10 to the mix? Can someone please advise on the best combination.

Also I am not sure that what I have is only peyronies, I am convinced and written  a report to urologists about a possible torn fascia, which is not detected by MRIs causing tissue inflamtion.

In short, what is the best combo of medicine to take and I am circumcised but want to know with peyronies, what is the penis like in the flaccid state? Bulky, wrinkly skin, terrible under the glans and inflamed shaft and sitting awkwardly.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Makarinio123, Yes, you should take Acetyl L-Carnitine.

Acetyl L-Carnitine is the preferred form of Carnitine for brain and nerve support because the acetyl group enables the molecule to cross the blood-brain barrier more easily and may also provide substrate (acetyl groups) for synthesis of acetylcholine—a primary neurotransmitter in the brain.
It will lift mood and anxiety also IMHO it has a sedative effect on pain.

Acetyl L-Carnitine actually does everything that regular L-Carnitine does, plus it also can cross the blood/brain barrier and support cognitive functioning while regular L-Carnitine does not.

I take 1000-2000mg per day over two doses of 1000mg.

Pentoxifylline causes changes in your blood that help improve blood flow. This also helps your blood carry oxygen to your tissues and organs. Pentoxifylline is used to improve blood flow and reduce certain symptoms of a condition called intermittent claudication.

I have never taken Pentox as you need a prescription for it

Hope that helps  :)

Paolo,
Thank you for your advice and information. I really appprecate it. I was wondering if when you got the condition or soon after had problems and noticed changes in the flaccid state. The skin being wrinkly, wide shaft, more spongy, texture like leather or rubber. Does it sit awkwardly? When I read about peyronies most talk about the erect state. However, I am off work and have been since November. I am so uncomfortable in the flaccid state. I feel that every erection streches the skin so that when my penis is flaccid it feels like I have excess skin?

Thanks again.
