I have a 90 degree bend and that all happened in five months from the time that I noticed a lump. I am glad I have a great wife because I don't see a cure for this but I thought about how sick I get when I look at it and if my wife left me I would give up on life

I split your post that you may have your own topic.
Can you give us some information regarding you Peyronies?
It may help other to understand and react.

Hey Bent- Welcome to the forum, which is unfortunate that you have to be here. Two things. 1.As James said we need more info to help you and 2. Slow down on the giving up part. You will find your way. A "great wife" and one that will leave you  don't seem to go together.Have you been to the Uro yet? Hang in there you will find light for the way here. Regards Inkhorn

I first noticed some odd sensation while me and my wife were having sex December 2012 on March of 2013 I found a hard lump I thought it could be cancer and one week after that I had noticed a 15 degree upward bend at the head of my penis. My first doctors visit was four weeks after that. The bend had moved back on the shaft about an inch and the bend was at 35 degree's upward just about six weeks after I noticed the lump, my doctor put me on potaba and that caused me to have pains in my kidney area so the doctor took me off the potaba after six weeks. My next doctors visit was in July and the bend was at 90 degree's. I have been taking vitamin e and I use a traction device nothing has helped I lost two inch's in length. I do have type 2 diabetes that was diagnosed 32 months ago but the  diabetes is  under control my meds are metformin and lisinopril for the diabetes and simvastatin for cholesterol, my cholesterol is only 130

I never had an injury I need some direction on what to do my urologist said live with it but how can I do that with a 90 degree bend?

LWillisjr

It infuriates me when I hear a urologist tell someone to "live with it". I wonder how many urologists would just "live with it" if they had Peyronies?  You need to find  male sexual specialist competent to treat Peyronies disease. There are several recommended on this forum depending on where you live.

There are treatments outlined on the forum, but reversing a 90 degree bend is going to be a challenge. Even at best if you could get a 40 degree improvement you would still have a 50 degree bend and that would still be difficult for intercourse.

We only recommend surgery as a last resort. But I have spoken to other men with 90 degree bends and surgery was about their only option. The good news is that even though there are risks, it is still an option. But I would only suggest you consult a very competent specialist who is experienced at treating Peyronies surgically.

I have a hard time dealing with it but I can still have sex with my wife. I am not sure of any doctors that can help me I live in north west Ohio. My wife can deal with it better than me.

I am like Les when I hear men tell me the doctor said to just live with it. That is one reason my wife and I are in the Peyronies Awareness program that Xiaflex is promoting.

In north west Ohio there are a couple of doctors in Chicago. Dr. Levine and Dr. Nehra. Also there is Dr. Montague at Cleveland Clinic.

thanks for the information I will call DR. Montague.

Bent Dick

I am not happy with my dr. telling me that I will have to live with a 90 degree bend that started just six months ago, I never had an injury, I do have diabetes that I got under control I just need a dam good doctor

MattFoley

I started with a 90% bend but now it's about 45%.

I've been doing traction, testosterone shots, VED, Pentox, high protein & low carb diet, and lifting weights. It takes a while but if you are anything like me, it should improve. Thank God you have a wife. I have no one. My girlfriend broke up with me so now I pay for girls to visit me. Loneliness sucks so bad.

Bent Dick;
Don't listen to your Doctor. There seem to be far too many members of the medical profession with a cavalier attitude to this pernicious disease. I suspect if they suffered from the same condition that they would take it far more seriously!

You will find a list of well thought of Urologists on the site. Read all you can on here, there is a wealth of information and experience in dealing with Peyronie's. any questions, please feel free to ask. Somebody here will have an appropriate response.

Good luck, and you have to fight this!..

Bent Dick

Thanks Matt I hope that I can go to just a 45 degree bend I have been on a low card diet for three years because of diabetes and I do work out. I just need to find a good urologist in my area of north west ohio and get on the right meds.

Litani

Hi Matt,

Over what period of time was the 50% reduction?

Thanks
Care enough to throw everything you got at this disease but do not care enough to ruin your Life!

I'm curious as to what role a high protein, low carb diet combined with exercise has to do with recovery and/or improvement from Peyronies Disease. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total believer in the life style. In fact that has BEEN my life style for the majority of the last decade and I was actually wondering if there was something about my "diet" that may have actually caused or contributed to the disease. Like maybe something as ridiculous as what seemed(s) to be an addiction to whole cashews roasted in sea salt with no added oils. Sounds far fetched, but when your looking down on some crooked junk and you really don't remember any specific incident that caused enough pain to cause such damage and Peyronies Disease seemed to "appear" out of nowhere, your mind can race and grasp at straws?

Do we have scientific studies looking at any possible connection to nutrition and Peyronies Disease?

I'm glad to read your making progress Matt!

There are so few studies of Peyronie's in any context that it's no surprise that there are few on Peyronie's and nutrition. However, given the known co-morbidity between diabetes, cardiovascular disease and scarring conditions (like Deputren's) with Peyronie's, a diet that properly manages carbohydrates is probably beneficial. I would say that this applies more to the older sufferers of Peyronie's.

For younger guys like me who got this before the age of 30, we may have been genetically disposed to the disease such that dietary management wouldn't do much beyond providing a good environment for healing after injury. I was close to my personal best level of fitness when I came down with Peyronie's (with good eating habits) so in my case I don't think subtracting a doughnut here or a beer there would have done much for me.

Hey guys, my bend went from 90 degrees to 45 degrees over the course of about a year.

Also, I wasn't doing every single method starting all the way back a year. I added stuff on as time went on.

I've also been taking 5mg of Cialis daily as well. I'm throwing everything but the kitchen sink at this nightmare.

A couple of months ago when I saw my urologist, he did a physical exam of my penis and was amazed at my progress. He said, "Whatever you're doing, keep on doing it."

I think stem cells, PRP, and HGH are the only things that I haven't added due to cost. For those of us in our 40's and beyond, HGH is an imperative as an anti-aging treatment and as a way to help the body heal. I'm looking for a quality and reasonably priced HGH provider and when I've found one, I'll be happy to share that info with everyone.

Impressive progress and wish you the improvements will continue until strait again :)
Regarding PRP, I don't understand how it works. I have 1,000,000 as my normal (the normal is maximum 500,000) and it not helped me not to get Peyronies or to reduce my symptoms.
Maybe someone have explanation?

Matt- Wanted to let you know, I'm in the second month of a 6 month cycle of HGH. I'm hoping that it produces new cell growth around the plaque area, to replace the damage and stretch and grow. The reason I believe it's possible is because I did a run of it after prostatectomy and it helped replace the length I lost during surgery when the urethra was cut and sewn back together. Regards Inkhorn

James:

My understanding is that in PRP, the injection is made at the scar tissue to stimulate new growth and repair. The doctor I spoke to mentioned that he uses it in conjunction with stem cell injections.

Inkhorn:

I think that's great. To be clear, is it actual HGH, i.e. Somatropin, or are you using a combo of protein peptides, i.e. Ipamorelin, CJC-1295?

I believe that we have all the tools to combat this disorder already in existence. From the science related to HGH, stem cells, PRP, and testosterone, it seems clear to me that theoretically these things should do the job. Adding of course traction, VED, cialis, etc., we really have an effective group of weapons. The problem with HGH, stem cell, and PRP is the cost. Sadly we can't get the insurance companies to do the right thing.

Still my question is if I have already high platelets count, why is not helping with Peyronies?
Why Peyronies occurred at all if platelets we need to heal Peyronies?

James, the PRP has to be site injected in order for the process to work. It's not a systemic process but instead localized to the scar location.

Matt- It's Omnitrope, which is the same as soma. I've done it as I said several times and also did GHRH for longer periods. Yes it is pricey, but at 62 and still working, I'm running with 30 year olds, listening to them whine about being tired!! WAAAA. LOL Regards Inkhorn

MattFoley

inkhorn, that stuff is the fountain of youth. I'm trying to work it into my budget. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know what inkhorn is paying but I have a great source that doesn't charge as much as 99% of the other doctors out there. If you are serious about getting on it, PM me and I'll share some info with you.
