I had a modified nesbit plication done over a week ago for a 90 degree downward congenital curve and seem to have a spot of minor skin necrosis around the incision site ( about half an inch wide x 1 inch long on the top of my penis. It is black and scanned over. Is this common or should I go back to the surgeon? I have been keeping neosporin on it as I want it to heal properly and am concerned it may leave a scar.

Thanks

I'm not sure why you're not on the phone to the surgeon right now.

I would agree. Call the doctor! ASAP!!! What you describe may be perfectly normal, but I would sure want to know.

Called the Urologist on call the other day and talked with him for a bit, checked in with me today over the phone and told me that it sounds normal. he said marginal necrosis (where blood gathers under and in the skin from bleeding scabs up) is normal in plastic surgery, as well as surgery in very vascular areas. He said the risk for scaring in the penis is fairly low in this case so it should be nothing to worry about.
