Hello all,

I am new to this site, although I have been lurking around for a while. Thought it would be time to say hi and dish out my story.

I am now almost 27. Just before my 23rd birthday I suffered a serious injury to my penis following a bike injury. This subsequently left me with fibrosis of the lower third of the under shaft of my penis as shown on MRI. My life has never been the same since, and don't think it ever will be.

I am essentially unable to have satisfactory intercourse ever. My erection (now much weaker than before, glans rarely at full juice) will last 2 minutes max during intercourse and it will subsequently fail me and turn into a soft lazy semi erection, crumbling under the pressure exerted on it by the vaginal walls/weight of partner. The only way to regain it would be via oral sex as this gives my penis maximum sensation and minimal strain, but then once intercourse resumes it will last for even less. A 10-15 minute sexual encounter of this cycle will leave me with substantial pain, and if I was to do this 3 times in one night, I will have significant pain in my penis for days after. If I use a condom I am virtually guaranteed to lose an erection within 30 seconds as I feel less sensation.

I rarely encounter any nocturnal/morning erections, but if I do they will be brief and at around 70-80%.

My erection is not bent, but as the blood drains out at the end of an erection, the curve becomes apparent for a little bit, with the penis curving to the left.

My main symptoms are erectile dysfunction and pain during and after intercourse. The stronger the erection and longer the session, the worse the pain is. The only thing I have tried is the 20mg of cialis which does little. I am keen to try the VED but am certain it will cause me severe pain as it will probably give me a good quality erection. I have not tried vitamins/pentox or other supplements. My plaque is certainly fully calcified by now.

This injury has made me extremely depressed and I think about it every hour of every day. I don't currently have a partner but would like to settle down and get married at some point - what kind of sex life would I be able to provide for my wife and I if I can't have a 10 minute sex session without a failing penis and pain?

The pain side of things worries me dearly, because as I see it, the only resolution to that would be surgically removing the plaque and inserting a prosthesis. I want to avoid at all costs, but being so young that seems highly unlikely. I am currently awaiting compensation as a result of my injury, a process that has taken years and still ongoing. For this reason, I am holding off seeing a urologist until I can dish out for the best I can find.

I really am struggling. How do I overcome the psychological aspect of this? Is there anything that can help with the pain? Should I be getting on to the VED asap?

I have suffered this horrific injury at such a young age, I feel like I'm in a nightmare every day and I just can't wake up.

Hopefully you will be in a position soon to be examined by a qualified urologist. You might have Peyronies Disease, but sounds like you could have other penile injuries that could be causing your ED and pain issues.

If you could get a prescription of Pentox, this might help with the pain. But again without knowing you exact injuries would be only a guess......  but worth a safe try in my opinion.

You could also try (cautiously) a VED to help achieve/maintain an erection. Various members have had varying levels of success with this approach. (contact Old Man)

As a last resort, regardless of your age, you might need to consider implant surgery. Is it a big step... yes, is it scary.... yes. But there are several on the forum who swear by this. (Contact Jackp) And if it is the difference between no sex life, and the possibility of an active sex life.... it is worth considering.

And finally, mental attitude is everything. You can defeat yourself before even trying. Accept the fact of what you have, and that there ARE OPTIONS here. Please read this recent post by forum member Murcurza:

Snoopy- First of all, welcome and thanks for sharing your story. I feel for you my young brother. I couldn't agree more with Wiliis. Find a way to get to a URO. Your head right now is spinning and your mind is being tossed like a ship on the ocean in a storm. The right Uro can clear your head and give you a definitive diagnosis. If it's Peyronies, then it's back to the forum and treatment experimentation, if not, you may have to go another way. But at least you will have a plan. Thanks for the replies iwillisjr and inkhorn.

Sorry, I perhaps haven't been clear enough in my first post. As there is a claim involved in my injury, I have seen a urologist for medico-legal purposes and undergone a whole host of tests including two MRI scans, ultrasounds, a urethrogram and a caverject injection. My urologist told me I had a post traumatic plaque on the underside of my penis and therefore peyronies disease.

As I am still awaiting the outcome of the claim I have not been able to see a urologist of my choice for treatment purposes but hopefully the wait should be over soon. In the mean time, I will continue studying this site thoroughly so that when I see my urologist I have a lot of info at my disposal.

Hang in there snoopy.  It is quite possible the pain is causing the erection trouble (the body protecting itself).  Once you get the treatment you need you may be able to loosen the plaque, reduce the pain, and have normal erections.  Sorry you are in a bad place now, but remind yourself that things will change.

Im in the same boat as you snoopy your not alone and were the same age. I actually have it worst off then you so dont feel so bad.  What really helped me alot is coq10 enzyme i can tell you where i bought it and cialis 5mg daily. I get pretty strong erections now and morning erections. This problem is really stressing and i think about it everyday its the first thing i think about when i wake up in the morning.
