Is there any general consensus from urologists and from members of this board on effects of taking vitamin C or multivitamins on peyronie's disease?  I'm not expecting that either would do much to help the disease but it might be good for health and recovery from injury in general.  Does anyone think that either of these supplements could cause peyronie's disease symptoms to worsen?  For example, Vitamin C supposedly effects the synthesis of collagen, which is what scar tissue is made of (but also healthy tissue).

The well know Peyronies specialist Dr. Lue prescribed 2400 mg of Pentox in December and asked me to stop taking the multitude of supplements I was taking at the time. However, he said a multivitamin was fine. I don't think it has any positive or negative effects per se, but if you're lacking certain vitamins, it will obviously help. I also still take fish oil, coq10, echanacea, and Cialis (5mg cut in half) daily.

I looked into this matter as much as possible, but just could not figure out a consensus either. Vitamin C may increase collagen in the body, but I don't know if these means it would worsen peyronies. For all I know it might make it better, being a strong antioxidant as well. I think it would require a complex answer. Dr Lue's word however, is Dr Lue's word.. I'd like to trust him as well.

I've always thought and been told that vitamin C is good at reducing inflammation in the body. if you google "vitamin c for inflammation" some info comes up in search. Not sure if it can help or hurt with peyronies specifically though

Before Peyronies, I took about 2000 mgs Vitamin C for about 5 months, with collagen powder 2x daily. Then I started megadosing on the C, for 4 months. 2 months later I had a 90' bend downwards. I stopped the collagen powder.  I went off my blood pressure med, since I found out that can contribute to Peyronies. It's been about 1 yr. and 1/2 now, and have just read Vitamin C may contribute. The C helps my arthritis, so I've only cut down to 2000 mgs. I haven't tried any fixes yet. I was just waiting it out. Have read massaging in opposite direction of bend with, and sleeping with, 100 o/o pure Caster Oil can fix problem.
I'm 63 yrs. I've had Peyronies Disease for about 1 yr. & 1/2. I've been on blood press med. for 20 years. I've read there's a strong link with it and Peyronies Disease. I started mega-dosing on Vitamin C, and developed Peyronies Disease. If I hadn't been on the HBP med., Vit. C is prob fine.

The daily recommended vitamin C for male is 90 mg. Over 500 mg daily our body will eliminate the rest.
I am taking 500 mg if I have flue. It helps.
Quote from an expert on vitamins:
QuoteWhile taking 2,000 mg a day is unlikely to hurt you – since your body will eliminate the excess – the worst effect would likely be wasting your money.

It turns out that carbohydrates have the same molecular shape as vitamin C, and therefore block it from being used by the body. This is why carnivore diets somehow afford the person enough vitamin C without veggies or fruit.

Vitamin C is significantly lower in those with pre-diabetes, and I theorize this is due to carbotoxicity. The same is true for magnesium and many other vitamins and antioxidants.

Take it along with other supplements but treat metabolic disease as soon as possible by fasting or cutting out all carbs.

Does this mean an increase in Collagen is bad for peyronies? I.E people who attempt to heal themselves with HGH (growth hormone) would end up with increased collagen - could this make peyronies worse?
