I am from Dallas and am a very young 61 year old ex jock. Work out daily either cardio or weights; testosterone is good; SBH is a little high as is my estradiol. With that said, I have had ED problems since 2005 and began taking Viagra and the other ED meds. Worked great for a while but then several failed attempts were so discouraging that I went to a Male Medical Clinic and started with the injections. They worked great for a while but I noticed a subtle shorting of my penis and a pronounced, but G spot rubbing upward curvature. Fast forward......... injections are hit or miss, thought my little knots in either side were scar tissue and went to Dr. Mark Allen of Plano, Texas for a consult. After looking and feeling my penis, he pronounced that I should stop the injections and get an implant ; a 3 piece AMS 700 LGX.

I have made an appointment for consults with 2 other urologists once of which is Kenneth Goldberg MD of Lewisville and Carrollton, Tx.  What a bummer. To boot my 52 year old wife suffers from dementia and is like a 7 year old child. We don't have a sex life so as Dr. Mark Allen said, "you are virtually single."

I am here to learn and to make the right choice about solutions. Nothing...nothing worse that being a man and not confident that you can perform.  Thanks for including me here, guys.

I noticed my upright, shortened penis, my form of Peyronies Disease, when I was successfully using ED meds. Short, a little thicker but definitely upright and "doable." They stopped working so I went to the Trimix injections that also worked for about a year but then I couldn't successfully inject because of either scar tissue or calcium from the Peyronies Disease. Soooooo.....I was having to use 2 syringes at times to get even marginal results.
UGH! Went to a doc named mark Allen in Plano, Texas who looked at my dick and said that he wouldn't recommend anymore injections because of the small knots on either side of my dick. He recommededthe 3 piece inflatable implant, AMS 700 LGX and called it the "Cadillac" of implants. He said he did 50 last year and the youngest man was around 30 who had an injury to his groin.

I have an appointment with Kenneth Goldberg MD, another Dallas area urologist, who does the injections to attempt to break up the knots. I'd like to try those, I think, before I get an implant. Just seems conservative and practical. Any thoughts??

This is so frustrating. Wife has early onset demetia ( like a 7 year old)and so I am, for all practical purposes, single and going without!!

I have an appointment with Kenneth Goldberg next week to see if I am a candidate. Will report in afterwards.

I don't have too much to say except that:
Yes, injections are causing Peyronies.
For the doctor, 50 implants per year is OK, more is better.
Good to here a second opinion.
I don't know how injections are breaking up the nods except with Xiaflex that is not yet available, can you tell us what the doctor is using?

TEB,
There is also a urologist at UTSW in Dallas named Dr. Alan Morey. He specializes in male sexual health problems, especially penile reconstructive surgery. I have been studying him for some time but have yet to find time to go see him. I am in far west Texas. There are Internet articles about him. Check him out if you are so inclined.

You have posted two other posts more or less the same and I have answered to them so I don't have what to add except:
If you will post just one, you will get more attention and can concentrate the answers in one place.
This is the reason I have merged them but now is like a mix-up

Welcome to the forum :)

I saw Morey last week.  I'm in the first six months of bending -- I was pretty quickly ushered out of the clinic and was told, "come back in a year if you turn chronic, and we can talk surgery.  Every other treatment is crap -- there's nothing you can do."  He was very dismissive over all.

I would not recommend him unless you need surgery.  He might be great in that case, but I don't think he'll help you in any other way.  (and I had to wait two months for that appointment).

Find an other Peyronies specialist. You may go back to him if you will want surgery.
Some forum members are very happy with him as surgeon.
