Hi,

I am 18 years old and fear I am suffering from Peyronies Disease. I do not believe I have suffered any physical trauma. My penis is straight for a few centimeters and then bends at about a 50-60 degree angle when erect. In addition, my erections are not as hard as they used to be and I lose them quickly. When lying down, my erection is not rock hard, so if I lean by body slightly to the right my penis looks straight, but is obvious when standing up (although I find it really difficult to maintain an erection standing up)

I spoke to my doctor and he brushed it off and said "its natural to have a bend" and "its normal to not have a full erection while masterbating, wait until you have sex" (I've never had sex)

My concern: I took propecia for about a year. Before taking this pill I had a NORMAL penis. No bend, rock hard erections. For 16 years I had no bend and then I developed one, could that be normal?

Another concern: when I masturbate frequently, my over erections are decently hard. However when I go 2+ weeks without masturbating my errections are bad. For separate reasons I am trying to stop masturbating, but I am extremely concerned that if my erections got worse after 2 weeks, what will happen after a month? Or 2? Or 3?

I'm really really worried. I can't stop thinking about this. Its taking over my life. If I could at least have the satisfaction of knowing it probably won't get any worse then I can deal with it. But it seems people are saying it could get worse (as my bend has gotten worse over that past 2 years). If my erections get any weaker ill have to look into medication. I'm 18 years old wtf. Please help

Hey Elzri,

You are at the right place and you will find a wealth of information here.

First Step - Immediately stop using Propecia if you haven't already if you believe that it might be the source of your issues.
Second Step - Find a new uro that deals specifically with Peyronie's...I'm not saying 100% that Peyronie's is what you have, but obviously your uro either A) doesn't care or B) has no clue what to do.

It is very normal to have bends and slight angles etc., but it is not "normal" at 18 to just develop a huge curve and then begin having weaker erections for no reason. I will say that a person's mind can play a big role in erections and the more anxious you get, the worst it will become.

Stopping masturbation stops blood flow into the penis...when blood flow stops, tissues don't get the necessary nutrients that they need to survive. I personally don't believe that stopping masturbation is the right course of action but if you want to stop for personal reasons, then a VED (vacuum erection device) will help to get erections and blood flow through the penis.

Lastly, no matter what happens, there are a ton of things happening right now that have the possibility of benefiting you, especially since you are only 18. I got this hellish disease at 19 and now I am 30. I am still alive and sexually active due to the various treatments that I've gotten and the future only holds more promise. I know it's hard at such a young age to deal with the uncertainty of the future and what might come, but honestly you can only control what you can control and obsessing over it WILL destroy your life. Trust me, it took me a long time to realize this.

As he said the propecia may be the source of your problem.

It also has been discussed here if you do a search.

Please continue to post and let us know how things go.

I was taking Propecia when I incurred the trauma and was on it for about four months after before I started having a hunch it may be related. I never had proof, obviously but softer erections are a side effect.

I agree with stopping the Propecia. Also, if you haven't already please read the following. We ask all new members to read this as it answers many of the basic questions people have.

Based on the info you shared, here's my take on what happened:

Propecia destroyed your testosterone levels. Testosterone acts like a defense against all sorts of infirmities including Peyronie's. When my testosterone dropped, Peyronie's showed up.

The good news is you're young and by elevating your testosterone to normal levels, using a VED, traction device, and Pentox, you have a great chance to recover, quite possibly fully.

This forum is your best tool to help educate yourself and the doctors who may not have all the info on this issue. Welcome and God bless.

Hi Elzri
I have received your PM and will gladly send you the information you have requested.
Please read my History in that specific thread on our Home Page.
While I am considerably older than you , I have had my self pretty well fixed . But you should really get an appointment with a good Peyronies Urologist. There is a great doctor in Toronto, and I , as well as several others here have been seeing him for treatment.
There are many great members here who are experienced and very knowledgable that can help you through this. But you must first acertain you actually have Peyronies. The Urologist can best advise you.

masterbating too much your erections can become weaker. Another thing im concerned about is the way you masterbate. Masterbating prone look it up can cause alot of problems. If your erections are changing and are not the same as they were do not listen to a general urologist as soon as they see a guy 18 years old its all in your head right away.
