I would be more concerned about the recovery time, the danger of infection / need for revisions and the replacement every 15 years. The rate of infection is below 1% which is not helpful if you are one of the unlucky ones. In an article I once read on pubmed it stated that even the successful ones often have some low level inflammation going on (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3126071/).
I just wonder if one has placed this at a young age of 30 or below if that's not dangerous in the long run. I mean as long as one is healthy it may all be well. But at some point in life you may become sick and your risk of infection increases. Then maybe it's not possible to do a replacement or the thing has to be removed entirely.
And to the topic of pain, I saw a video which was basically an infomercial. But even the guy in that video giving his testimonial said that he was in constant pain for the better part of a year after the implant was placed. Not severe pain but constant pain, day and night.

Relisacct,

Be it Peyronie's or just the aches and pains of getting older, going back to "the way things used to be" is an impossible goal. I'm only 34, but I've been used as a punching bag by various ailments and family disasters in the last 5 years. Learning to accept that things will never be the same is a necessary part of getting older. There comes a point when "good enough" might as well be "perfect."

As it relates to implants; you're right, it isn't the same. They feel different and operate differently than a normal, healthy penis. However, an implant can restore girth, improve sexual function and correct curvature in someone faced with an otherwise permanently deformed penis; that's not a bad deal.

Nothing is as good as it was, not even my memory. Well, maybe cornbread! But my point being, sometimes, it's as good as it gets! And that ain't a bad thing in comparison to the alternative.

If I can get my length and girth back (especially since I wasn't that big to begin with), I would be happy.  Also, if I can eventually restore the rigidity in my glans.  (It's now smaller, and soft on erection).  Have to say these things have improved somewhat with VED and daily Cialis, but I'm still not "what I used to be".  Stem cells may be the ultimate cure, but at my age I may not see that day come in time for me.

Hopefully you'll make it to at least next month Restore, that's when my stem cell treatment is coming up. Like I've stated before, there's now a lot of hope for everyone here...more so than there's ever been.

Best wishes for a most positive result Rellis!  I don't claim to understand how stem cells work, but I have read a lot lately.  Would not the body have to be in a repair mode when adding stem cells?  I mean, to regrow tissue, there must be a perceived injury by the brain or body?  Old scar tissue would be a different thing right?  Anyway, I wish you the best!

I am splitting the topic, we went with some of the posts completely out of the topic.

Thanks guys, I'll keep everyone filled in on the details of how everything goes on the Developmental Drugs & Treatments board.

@Restore  That seems very logical to me and I'm going to ask the doctor that specific question. I'll let you know what he says about it.

Guys, I don't sell Viktor Frankel's book "Man's Search for Meaning", but I quote it often and it has much meaning in my life. Here a few quotes/reasons why:

"Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how.'"

"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves."

"The one thing you can't take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one's freedoms is to choose ones attitude in any given circumstance."

"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves."

So very true. It's important to always keep that in mind.

I am involved with a group of Wounded Warriors. Believe me, some of the problems they have to endure make us look like cry babies for complaining about our penises. And for the most part, there is absolutely nothing they can do about their situation. We DO still have options available to us. Put it in perspective, guys. If there is something you can do to make your lot in life better, then do it. There really are those who are worse off than you.
Norm

When i tried laser theray, i was in lounge every day with paralysed men because that doctor treated mainly patients whit spinal lesion.
So despite of their desperate condition, i was not be able to feel less desperate compared whit they.
I was a young man of 27 years old and i was whit a girl that i loved when peyronies came.
Now i'm almost 31 years ago, i've passed 3 years of HELL, i've lost the girl, i resolved NOTHING and now i'm more empty than the vacuum.
I pass my days in the bed, i don't feel desperate anymore, i feel empty, totally empty and i feel that the ONLY thing that counts in the life is the PENIS. A BIG AND HARD PENIS.
I think that now i have a deep psychosis because when i feel or i see the things of the world i think that all is futile, because the only thing that is important in the life is the penis.
My parents say that i'm crazed, but i believe deeply in this.
So when i feel that also the other people have big problems, i say yes it's true, but peyronies at 27 years is
the hell in the life.
Excuse my surge.

A simple question:
Why you are not making an implant?

I understand.
Are you following the topics regarding Priapus shots?

Knight

With all due respect I'm not sure that would be a valid reason for not looking into an implant and/or some sort of grafting procedure. I still get good erections too but the pain and deformity make them almost (not quite in my case) unusable. If you have exhausted all other hopes why not look into surgery? By your own admission things are pretty bad so why not take action instead of dwelling on it and driving yourself crazy? If all that matters to you is "a big hard penis" I think you still have some possible options.

Good luck and God Bless!

Knight is also right in his post.
Why not to consider surgery to correct the deformity?
Myself, I was trying first the Priapus shots. This what I am going to try next.

How can surgery give back the wasted tissue? I think that surgery can correct the curvature but if the elastic tissue is lost i don't see now any valiant solutions.
I don't have a define plaque, i've a general fibromatosis of penis.

emasculated

There is minimally invasive surgery called "penoscrotal plication" which can correct the curvature, step one.
Then after that you can do ved and priapus shot to restore girth.

there is no study, no evidence that VED can restore girth.

dio:

While there may not be an official study showing that girth can be restored and in some cases add more, the VED therapy can and will do just that. The experience of myself and many others on this forum demonstrates what capabilities that VED therapy have and can do.

VED therapy is one for the long haul and not a one night stand form of therapy. One must be ready to exhibit much time and patience with extreme careful use to realize the full benefits of VED therapy. It is only fair to state that VED therapy does not work for all cases of Peyronies Disease, but does have track records of many of us on this forum that shows it worked for them.

VED is an individual choice, so one must enter into this form of therapy only after careful research and study of the many posts on this excellent Peyronies Disease forum. So do your homework in the many boards of this forum for information to help with any decision to use VED therapy.
