Lumps but no bend - is it Peyronies?

Hi all,

I went to see a urologist after discovering some hard lumps in my penis.  When I pinch my flaccid penis between two fingers I can feel two hard lumps, like BBs, that are connected by a less hard but still immovable substance, deep inside, right in the center.  They are located at the start of the head of my penis, and are about 1cm long in total. At this point I only notice them when I look for them - my penis is not misshapen or painful when erect or flaccid.

The urologist told me that it could be scar tissue that could just go away, or that it may be Peyronies.  He said that I should wait 6 months and if things are still the same I should just forget about it.

I read that 21% of guys with Peyronies present first with these lump symptoms, and I wanted to ask this knowledgeable forum what they first had as symptoms and what you think my case may be.

Many thanks!

That was how mine first started, it felt like a small bb.  In my experience, "just wait and see" is unacceptable.  Without treatment, especially at the acute state (if this really is Peyronie's, that is where you are now), very rarely does it get better.  That means (if this really is Peyronie's) that it is much more likely to get worse, especially without treatment.  Even with aggressive treatment now, there is a possibility that it will get worse, if it really is Peyronie's.

I will second BrooksBro. The "just wait and see" approach show the doctor incompetency. He was not even able to tell if it is Peyronies or not!!! You must to start treatment as soon as you can in the early stages.
I am proposing you to invest time and read the forum to see what other members are doing and to decide about what you will do.
Myself started to treat this disease very late with disastrous consequences. Below my actual treatment:
2*400mg Pentox – morning/evening, started at January 2012 now on 3*400mg
4mg Cialis (cutting the 20mg in 5pcs) – evening, started at April 2012 replacing Viagra that started at November 2011.
2*500mg Acetyl L-Carnitine – morning/evening, started at September 2012
2*1000mg L-Arginine – evening, stared at June 2012
2*100mg Ubiquinol – morning/evening, started at June 2012
VED, 20 minutes (30 minutes in the last month), started at October 2011

Welcome to the forum
James

PS: I will move your topic in a few days to "Introduce Yourself" board, it will get more attention there.
Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

William,

That's exactly how mine started. I had no bend at all for 9 months, although the ED started pretty much immediately.

My advice is listen to what these guys say. Between them they know more than the majority of urologists.

Guys,

One thing I forgot to mention.  I had been taking a beta blocker (Inderal) for anxiety on a very infrequent basis.  One tablet per week for 6 months.  Nevertheless, it seems a bit odd that with no recollection of injury to my penis, I find these lumps just a few months after starting Inderal.

My urologist (who confirmed Peyronies after an ultrasound) said I should stop taking Inderal and start high dosage of vitamin E, which I have done.

At this point the only symptom is the lumps, which haven't changed.  I'm just hoping that now I've stopped the Inderal the progression won't get any worse!

William.

I would like to say again, in my opinion you have to do more than:
Quotestop taking Inderal and start high dosage of vitamin E
to stop the progression of this disease.

As James stated I would be more proactive.
I would Start with Ubiquinol.  200-300mg per day and then add in some A-L-C. 500-2000mg per day.

I have had issues with sleep when I take the A-L-C at night or more than 1500mg/day

These are OTC and you don't need your doctors to script.

You may find other benefits by taking these as well like more energy and stamina. Both physical and mental.
Other than a few old studies with  low sample sizes I have not heard of vitamin E working.  This is anecdotal but I don't recall anyone on here saying E has helped them.

If someone has had success with it I hope you chime in and be counted.

It does help with scar tissue on the skin if you applied topically.  I have been told the molecues are too large to get through the skin and to penetrate very deep.  Some Naturepaths have suggested using DMSO to act as a carrier to drive it into the deep tissue. But As I understand it it cannot  pass through the tissue do to its large  molecule size.
