Hello,
I divorced my husband two years ago before I really knew he had Peyronie's disease. He was diagnosed several months before our divorce. It was not the issue of our divorce but lack of sexual satisfaction on my part was a big factor. He confessed that he often masterbated instead of initiating sex with me. This was before he developed Peyronie's. He was always emotionally distant as well.

Now we are reconciling our relationship and planning to get remarried. The big problem now is my soon-to-be husband does not look forward to having sex with me. He is worried that I am not going to be fulfilled. I would like to learn how other couples are keeping their sex lives alive and satisfactory for both the man with Peyronie's and the woman.

I can relate to how your husband may feel.  Beginning about two years, penetration had been increasingly difficult.  As my overall health improved, my erections became stronger, which made the curve worse.  Peyronies often has the unpleasant effect of shorter lasting erections due to venous leakage.  The tissue does not expand in the area of the plaque to close off the veins and hold the blood.

About a year ago, I had to give up on penetrating.  The frustration and constant fear of failing (either not penetrating or not keeping it long enough) was too much for me.  Better to not try than to try and fail.  The fear of failure was overwhelming.  For the past year, we have satisfied each other with mutual masturbation and oral sex.  It was not always great, but it was never bad either.   ;)  As our former president made clear, "sex" can have more than one definition.

More recently, after 12 verapamil injections failed to reduce the plaque and curve, I resorted to Nesbit plication surgery.  My curve went from 85 degrees to 15 degrees, according to the surgeon.  It will be another four weeks (6 weeks post surgery) before I can tell you for sure how I feel.

Hi Michelle

Did your husband try any treatment for his Peyronies?
Some of the people on the forum had big success with different approaches.
I am proposing you to invest time reading the forum, you will be able to understand better this disease and how difficult this thing is for your husband.
Regarding sex, as BrooksBro said, have different ways to satisfaction, even that they are not always 100%.
Wish you happiness in the renewed relations.

Welcome to the forum

PS: We have also a woman only forum that is not visible to male members. Write a PM to Christine on the subject
