Re-diagnosed with Congenital Curvture - having problems with Corpus Spongiosum

Hi, after being re-diagnosed with congenital curvature by my urologist, I am having other related problems.

I've had a mild erection problem for the last year or so, particularly relating to the Corpus spongiosum area of the penis. It's particularly problematic towards the end of the penis, where it has, frankly, diminished, and having not masturbated for 2 months, showing limited signs of improving (although better than before). It's something I first noticed about 2 years ago, but was told not to worry by my GP. I'm remaining positive about it and have found myself to have gained a much more mature perspective on life, being 22 years of age I'm not like a lot of people my age.

I'm becoming increasingly keen on masturbating and finding myself a sexual partner, having not had the consistent privilege over the last year or so, but I am very anxious about the possibility of damaging it further. I would love to hear personal experiences and whether you believe the aforementioned sex acts would cause any further damage to the Corpus Spongiosum. Any knowledge of that area of the penis as well would be most appreciated.

Your post never establishes that there was initial damage so it seems like jumping the gun to ask how to prevent further damage.  Many things could lead to not getting a fully erect glans which is the end of the Corpus Spongiosum.  Plaque or other structures could block blood distribution to this area.  Just weak erections could fill this area last therefore in a diminished manner.  To my knowledge, actually getting plaque or fibrosis in the glans is seldom if ever reported. Accordingly, I don't see how reasonable intercourse or masturbation would likely damage a penis.

Fair enough - to clarify, in the last 2 years I've noticed a loss of girth in that area of the penis as a result of what I believe to be masturbation (as intercourse is far less straining on the penis - at least what I consider intercourse, so it's unlikely to be a factor). I stopped having intercourse and masturbating in an effort to stop damage continuing and for the area to heal. I must say I was mildly devastated at loss of gurth and this, frankly, was enough for me to resist masturbation.

I believe this initial damage was caused by masturbation but my urologist insisted that wasn't the truth. However, I feel that I know my body and that it was unwise the risk further damage by masturbation. As I said in my previous post, I' d love to have a sex life again and I'm interested to know if anyone else has any knowledge or understanding of the issues raised, hopefully through experience. I understand that I should listen to my doctor that is specifically trained and knowledgeable in the area of the penis, however, I want to hear personal experiences as there is still limited research on this particular area and I find his advice to be slightly hunch related, if you catch my drift.

You have mentioned that you have been at an urologist.
How he checked you?
What was his diagnosis?

He pulled my foreskin back in order to determine the tightness, to which it was unusually tight, therefore he booked me in for a circumcision. I showed him the diagram I had prepared (previously, a different doc, had asked me to take a picture of the effected area as it's not that obvious), then he checked me for plaques by lightly squeezing down each side of my penis, before eventually disregarding any damage I could have done to myself by masturbating.

I was under the impression in between sessions that it could have been an infection of the foreskin, that had caused the tightness and erosion of spongy layers, potentially Balanitis. But he mentioned nothing of it and said I needed to be circumcised.

He had not made an ultrasound check in flaccid. I think is necessary because an ultrasound can show things he can't feel.
Regarding circumcision, the opinions are divided if it is a good thing or not.

I also agree that it is very unlikely that normal masturbation would cause an injury.  If so, every guy on earth would have injured penises.  It is very common that when something goes wrong (we will call it B), people look at what they were doing before that (A) and think that because a precedes B that A caused B.  Men often come here with Peyronies Disease thinking Viagra caused it because they had started taking Viagra a year before.  The Viagra was fairly recent and since the Peyronies Disease was recent, the one caused the other.

Obviously I don't know if you started some exceptionally rough masturbation but just sharing one guys opinion.
