 attempting to understand how to use this site.  I've had Peyronies Disease for about a year now and still don't know what to do.  The options are many and confusing and I don't know how to evaluate them in order to choose a good starting place.  is there any hope of finding a helpful urologist who can help?  Paralyzed in Indy

el guapo,

Hey, I totally understand your feelings.  You've come to the right place for understanding.

Here's an idea of how to proceed from here:

Describe your symptoms to the forum;

Identify an appropriate urologist (for Pentox prescription and encouragement), where this forum might assist if it knows where you are located and any limitations you have regarding travel;

Consider starting conservative treatment on your own (dietary changes, oral treatment such as L-Arginine, Cialis, Vitamin D, Ubiquinol and ALC and using a Vacuum Erection Device (VED)).

In my case, I did all of the forementioned, which, IMO, you should consider doing also unless you have a sound reason for not doing so.  Based on my own experience, I think VED usage, in particular, helped me the most, but that's essentially a guess!  However, my urologist in Atlanta who has a lot of experience treating Peyronies Disease endorsed all of the forementioned treatments.

Oh, FWIW, I started all of the forementioned treatments first, then asked a lot of questions later!  Others may have a different approach, but it didn't take me long to figure out that the forum members who endorsed these treatments have great credibility; good enough for me to get going.

If any of the above sounds unfamiliar, this forum has a vast amount of information pertaining to all of the above.

As far as I can tell, and I think I can speak on behalf of all forum members, there is no "known" cure for the condition.  But, that doesn't mean you can't mitigate, improve or restore your condition.

Also, trying to cut to the chase as to a faq, the "acute" phase may be limited or it may repeat itself.  This is what I find most frustrating, especially regarding one's mental health.  This is why I think it is important to be proactive in starting conservative treatment now, rather than later.  There are many stories on this forum where Pentox and VED usage helped tame or restore conditions.  Don't ever give up hope, despite any periods of discontentment!

Finally, take heart because you can endure and flourish.
