pentoxifylline treatment

I have had Peyronies for many years, and had surgery (nesbit procedure) at 20 years old. I was symptom free for a long time, then
started having ed problems. Noticed nodules forming near base of penis and went to urologist. I was given the usual treatment
(verapamil injections) with no improvement. Then I found Dr Liu at UC San Francisco med center and he did an ultrasound of
my penis and found about 6 nodules scattered throughout my shaft. He started me on 400mg of Pentoxifylline for 6 mo's and
I had about 50% improvement in erectile function and felt the nodules reduce about 30%. I couldn't go back for followup as my
insurance wouldn't cover his treatments, (had to pay $800 out of pocket for initial visit and prescription). I have been off the
drug for a year now and the nodules have grown and increased in number and my ED is worse again. This treatment seems to
work well, and I have just switched insurance carriers and hope to get back to Dr Liu soon to start treatment again.

Sonny, if it can help you, I personally take only 2x400mg pentox each day. More, I don't see any difference, excepted that it does increase my anxiety and stomachache, even if I take it with food... So I guess everyone has to find the right dosage, keeping in mind that it may have to be the highest dosage your body and mind can reasonnably take between 1 and 3x400mg daily!
