Hi guys (and gals),
I was diagnosed about a year ago. Now seem stabile, with an upwards curvature of 35-40 degrees. Very annoying.
Been using traction and whatever non-prescription stuff I could get my hands on (neprinol, PABA, L-Cartinine, Omega-3, Vitamins)
But no urologist here will prescribe Pentox (trental) since its effect is not "proven".
I've also been using an electric blanket, after reading about improvement using hyperthermia.
Considering flying out to see a specialist who will prescribe pentox. Tips as to whom and where would be greatly appreciated!
I live in Denmark.
Thanks for this place, it's been a real comfort to me, and made me feel less alone with this problem.
Best,
Dean

I wonder if it's possible to get confirmation from a urologist in advance that they have or do prescribe pentox. It seems outrageous that you'd have to fly out of the country to get a prescription for it.

I will repeat Luciano advice, try to get if from a GP.
Make his ego to go high and he may prescribe it, especially if you are his patient.

There are studies and recommendations in the resources section of the site. I would HOPE that anyone other than a backward thinking individual would prescribe pentox at this point in time. The alternative seems to be "wait and see", and I'll never quite understand how that is a useful strategy.
